How do u close a thread that u no longer need, or that has been answered?

Jessie
08-25-2008, 01:14 AM
You can't, only an admin or mod can do that.

Dranzera

Oh ok I see

Yeah. If you feel it's really needed, you can request it of someone who's listed as a moderator for that section, or anyone with "Admin" status. But, in general, it's usually only necessary to close a thread if it's gotten out of hand-- i.e. the discussion has turned blatantly off-topic, etc...

Dranzera
08-25-2008, 04:03 AM
cause I'm used to another system like the one in gamefaqs in which every topic creator can close of their topic for good if it's no longer needed.

I think that used to be the case here, but someone abused that right, so it was removed. I couldn't tell you the exact details though.

I can't recall that ever being the case.

How do u know ur status here? Like where do I see what rank I'm at?

Take out your custom user title. You should be a shriner. In 9 more posts, a Grand Shriner.

IIRC.

Is this to do with your threads being closed? Having a higher status doesn't mean you can unlock them. That's up to the mods.

Neg

For future reference, do not remake threads that are closed by mods.

08-30-2008, 03:10 AM
Nah I just want to know when I will be a mod lol. Meh well the first time they did it, it just pissed me off since they didn't even read right what I was writing, therefore the questions whether I've actually searched for it everywhere or not.

Prak
08-30-2008, 03:15 AM
Oh, I understood what you were asking, all right. I closed it because you're asking other people to go out and do work on your behalf that you're equally suited to do. That and the fact that every time you make a thread, you're always fucking asking for something, never actually contributing anything.

Also, mod positions are not doled out based on how long you've been here, how many posts you have, or anything like that. It's very unlikely that you will ever get one.

Dranzera
08-30-2008, 03:22 AM
I never asked them to do so on my behalf, I even said in the topic, that I had searched for it online, but without any success, so I thought that because it was a relatively old game, that someone else might have something to do with it, or might know something about it.
I would never ask anyone to do anything for me, before I would have searched for stuff myself, and the same thing goes for all the other topics I was asking help with, I've even gotten viruses searching for stuff on the net so don't be so high and mighty and think that I'm lazy just because I ask for rather rare games/OSTs whatever.
And I do contribute, if u go to the OST trading thread, u'd see that I did contribute, it may not be in a huge way, but sorry, I don't have rare games/OST/animes, so I did as best as I could and gave out a website where I knew some rarer version of OSTs exist.

I don't pay any attention to the requests and download links forums. My concern is general gaming, and threads like that are worthless there.

Dranzera
08-30-2008, 03:35 AM
Well there u go, u said so urself, u don't give a damn that people out there actually SEARCH for things that they want, and sometimes don't find them, but then god forbid they ask for help from other people who might know something.
I know the date might say Nov 2006, but I haven't even used these forums till recently, so I do not know how things work here.
Ever thought about giving out a warning and saying "please don't post it here, post it in the request section instead?" this way I wouldn't have had to repost that thread, but I did and why?
Because u didn't give me the light of day and went half cocked there and closed the topic right off the bat with no warnings whatsoever, just because u didn't like where I posted it.

Do you even try to comprehend what other people type? If so, you're failing miserably.

Also, that ridiculous color is too tough to read, so I'm done talking to you until you grow a brain and use the default.

Also also, it's useless arguing with me. You will never gain any ground and are far more likely to be mocked savagely by myself and others if you continue at this rate.

Dranzera
08-30-2008, 04:26 AM
I understood even better then u did what u typed. And purple is my fav color bite me.
Oh lol yeah like that's ever gonna happen, the only one who's gonna get mocked here is u, for being a blatant troll with authority, but even if they won't, I'm not a person who's scared from demeaning people like u, so know what? Put a sock in it already and don't wast my or any of the other nice people's time, I didn't make this thread to talk about other threads anyway, and officially it's off topic.
It's really too bad that I can't close topics, cause if I could then I would close this one and spare each and everyone of us the misery of me arguing here like this, I apologize to you ladies and gentleman (no not to u too Prak, ur "special") for wasting ur time here like this.

Oh that, well that's just cause I'm on the internet, and it's internet talk, in real life I don't write like this, but online I can let my hair down and permit myself to skip a few letter here and there.
As long as it's understood by the majority, and as long as it's not every word, I think it's acceptable.

08-31-2008, 01:53 AM
Thanks, but generally it's preferred here that you post it all within a single message, rather than double-posting. As long as there's a clear delineation, we'll understand.

Oh, and I agree with Prak about your font color. I'm pleased that you like the color purple and all, but it would be nice to show some consideration and that color makes your posts very difficult to read. I generally resort to highlighting them.

Dranzera
08-31-2008, 02:06 AM
No probs, as long as people ask me kindly for it, I'll change my font.

Agent0042
08-31-2008, 02:16 AM
Thanks! The dark purple really clashed with the background and made it a strain on the eyes to read. The default font, on the other hand, works fine.
