no matter what i try, i cannot get a blue chocobo...
i keep doing what everyone says: "mate two class S 'great' or 'good' chocobos and feed them a carob nut"
and i a l w a y s get a green one!!!

i want to know exactly, what you all did to get a blue chocobo... what chocobos did you mate? -'good' or 'great' (and maybe you used a 'wonderful' one??? were they both class S when you mated them or was one class S and the other class B or something??? -did you feed them a carob nut or something else??? -how many of what greens did you use on each one???

i really need someone to tell me step by step what to do and not give me this 'either -or' crock...

i already have two gold chocobos and a yellow and a black chocobo and i keep getting green ones all the time... (i'm trying to get one of each type and i forgot how i got a blue one, i can't remember the last time i've ever even ridden on one of those things in my file also)

i know this may be a FAQ, but the top thread just didn't work for me and was totally insufficient. please though... i need it like... right now, and i promise to delete the thread immediately. thank you

I bred to wonderful chocobo's..........

P.S. If you have a Gold Chocobo why do you want a blue one?

is that it???
-come on... there's got to be something you did. what did you do to the wonderful chocobos? were they both class S??? i need details...

i want a blue one for the sake of having them all. i am merely having this game beat in e v e r y w a y possible because i'm psychotic like that. i freaking want to rule this game with two tungsten-silver alloyed thumbs (and diamond index fingers... -for the top R1, R2 and L1, L2 buttons;) ). maybe later on, i'll post a thread of how badly i've conquered this game (but there are some things still missing that drives me freaking nuts, man!)

i always just thought that if you got say a green male one the next time you got a female blue one or whatever... or maybe its just random and my brother has been lucky

*shrugs* i dunno i don't play it

i don't want to sound mean, but...
how hard can it be to just tell me exactly what you did to get a blue chocobo...? i really want to delete this thread soon and it's been like 2 days now... besides, other than just me wanting a blue chocobo, my bro needs one too on his file so he can make a gold chocobo eventually, so this is still a necessary thread i suppose. but please do find that out for me... the method that everyone else tells me to do doesn't work (especially when they go along with the damned strategy guide)

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Well, if you have two yellow great or good chocobos at class S, you should be able to get a Blue one. Just save outside the farm, and breed the chocobos with a Carob Nut. If you get a Green one, reset and try again. I've had a similar problem before, but the other way round; I kept getting Blues and not Greens, and most of the Blue ones I got were the same gender as my Green one so I couldn't breed them anyway. :p

So yeah, just keep resetting and breeding again. You will get a Blue one eventually, although it might take some time. Or is this what you're doing already? :uh?:

hey now, that's something different...
but guess what...
-it worked!!!
man, i went through like 15 green ones to finally get a damned blue one and it was as you implied, it was the wrong gender i wanted... but i am getting it now. thank you so much, and when you get my thanks, i'll delete this thread... unless it is necessary for other people to know that it takes a couple tries to get a blue or green one and you don't have to do anything different to get a different one (i think i was just a little dense, that's all... no need to waste precious space on this forum)

Wark! Excellent question. If you've just started playing again, then you won't be able to keep a regular chocobo at this point. You see, you can catch one with Chocobo Lure, but when you dismount, it's going to run away. If you want to keep one, you'll first have to get to Disc 2 and get the Highwind. Then, return the Chocobo Ranch and talk with the old guy. He'll ask you if you want to rent out Chocobo Stables. You can rent out up to 6 at 10000 gil each. If you're planning on breeding a gold chocobo, then you're definitely going to want six. Then, when you go and catch a chocobo, when you dismount from it, instead of it simply running away, you'll be given an option to "Send It to the Stables." Do that, and you've got your own chocobo that you can use whenever you want.

Mating a great and a wonderful isn't going to work. You say you've find a great female, so what you need now is a good male.

- Good chocobos are found on the tracks southeast of the Gold Saucer.

- Great chocobos are found on the tracks in the Mideel Area.

It depends. The first time it took me quite a while, but now I'm used to the process and only takes me maybe 4-5 hours (real-time.)
