have you ever wondered what inspired square to make mog the moogle or even moogles in general. not that im dissin the little guy but come on, hes white fluf with wings. if it werent for the purple wings i would have thought he was the japanese version of the stay-puffed marshmallow man!

Moogles have been in FFIII and FFV, so in FFVI's case Square was just using something they'd already created. Why they created moogles in the first place, I don't know, but they look a lot like pikachu to me so maybe a lot of Japanese cartoons (or videogames with cartoon-like graphics) have characters like that.

Secret of Mana too... It's a bit like Chocobos, it ain't a fantasy world without a few mad creatures! They add too the feeling off a totally different world!:D

Some people say they have been influenced by Star Wars ewoks. Possible, both are some kind of fluffy teddy bears, fighting against the bad unfluffy guys.
I think they are amazing, just in the way theyve been designed.

Hmm.. But it was cool enough on the SNES, and I can play it without Mog, niether him or that Yeti dude really help the plot at all.... Gogo is a waste of space too! I like Terra, Locke and Celes best anyway, i just stuck up for Mog cos he is kinda cool, and he's the 4th member of my 'dream team'...

The moogle effectively became a company mascot for Square after the Secret of Mana, That's why they used Mog on the cover and in advertising for FFVI on the SNES in the US - I still remember seeing those weird ads featuring Mog in old US game mags. First page, shows Mog leaning on his dagger, surrounded by about ten huge, snarling monsters. At the top was written, "It just doesn't seem fair, does it?"

Turn the page, Mog is still there, except for the fact that the monsters have been reduced to huge piles of smoking ash and bone! At the top of the page, was written, "Well, life wasn't meant to be fair!"

And below it, the words 'Final Fantasy III'

I remember thinking, Weird! The ad says nothing about the plot, or characters, other than this seemingly cute and defenceless little moogle! That's still one of the reasons why I think Mog is one of the best characters in FFVI.

Today's Classic FF Quote:

"What an old fuddy-duddy!" Relm, upset that Strago, her grandfather, refuses her to go with him and your party to the Esper meeting place, FFVI.

Yeah, Terra definitely rocks all around. Not only does she do tremendous magic damage when morphed, but 9999 damage with the Atma Weapon as well.

Those magazine adds rocked!

I still have the two pages that had the "Life isn't fair" motto.. I can probably name all the enemies in the picture but its not with me right now :p.. I can remember the MagRoader in there though, and Phunbaba.
