From online . Some people have good rips of the cds it seems 😛 I always had VBR so yeah its great to find lossless ;).. I played my track 25 and sounded fine.. THo the time says its longer than it is , it plays fine all the way through..Anyway I will send a link 😛

Leon Scott Kennedy: I think he means that the file itself is damaged, try converting it. In foobar it should give an encoding error.
I already tried to convert it in a V0 mp3, no errors showed up on foobar2000. Anyway, unfortunately this rip was found online, so I guess the author can’t do anything about that problem.

But the BG II Shadows of Amn soundtrack in monkey audio APE has a problem, the starting of each track is corrupted !

The tracks run fine here and I downloaded them last week.
I run them with "free ape player" from softrm.com
The bg1 tracks I’ve never tried because I’ve never played that game.
I tried the Icewind Dale tracks but those links don’t work as well, the links refer to threads that probably don’t exist anymore.

All tracks play fine on my machine. You probably have a hard or software issue. Have you tried the free ape player? I can play all tracks with that player without any troubles.

Yes i tried "free ape player", and it’s the same !!
To understand my problem, please listen to the main theme of bg 2 here :

and compare with the main title in ape format, you will see, there is a problem, and it’s also in others tracks.

I can’t hear any difference other than the ape format being of superior quality.

You really don’t have a little latency time at the starting of "main title" (in ape) ??

And it doesn’t lack few seconds of the track (about 1 second)

I don’t miss anything of "main title", it might appear that there is missing a split second in the beginning but that is just a minor delay due to the starting of the APE file.
If you restart the track a few times you can hear everything is okay.
You should still try another computer.

I don’t think that my computer has a problem (but perhaps i am going to try on an other computer nevertheless).

In fact, it’s just the "main title" of BG2 SoA that have a "missing" at the beginning, it’s just the first "note" that is missing, 1/2 second perhaps. (For me it’s important because i love this track)

The minor delay, on the other side, is on all the tracks (i don’t know if it’s normal, i want to say, if there is always this delay on all musics in APE format)

BalbinatorEdzy : several tracks of Baldur’s Gate II OST have a crackling problem, is it normal ?

The Romance I for example, between 1 minute 50 sec and 2 minutes, and the Romance II between 40 sec and 50 sec.

I have never noticed that, really. I’ll have look when I’ll be back home and check that.

I’ve got some semi-bad news. I haven’t got the CD’s at home :/ They are probably at my girlfrieds home on the other side of my country (I’ve got a DVD release as well which I keep here). I’ll try getting the CD from my colleagues if they have one and re-rip it, though I can’t tell when this would happen.
