i am not able to use the attack command anymore it doesnt show up and every charecter in my game is sitting in a magitech armour even when i unequip everything armour swords and stuff i still cannot attack
all i can do is cast magic it was fine till i reached ebot rock's and after that i fed 22 corals to the chest and kicked hidons ass but after i left this place and got into a random encounter my charecters were sitting on the magitech armour and i am no longer able to use attack no blitzes and no other skills as well(slot,dace) and no i dont have any effects on my party

Hmm. FFVI, particularly earlier versions, is notorious for being prone to bizarre glitches. Particularly in connection with Relm's Sketch ability, though made no mention of having made use of that before noticing this problem.


What version of the game are you playing?

The game figured you were having too easy of a time so they killed some options to make it more challenging.

LOL i donot know what ver it is but ive witnessed some pretty bizzare things now like everyone dissappering from the screen relm head being cut off and then not reappering i think iam gonna have to start again from a saved game now i thought that maybe because i equipped some armour or something that caused this to happen but no its a F****** glitch ohh well thanks for clearing that one up for me now i gotta beat hidon again damn him

i_got -- it's quite simple, really. What system are you playing it on? With Final Fantasy VI, there are any of a number of options -- Super Nintendo, Playstation 1, 2, or 3 (Anthology version), Nintendo DS, or computer (emulator).


In any case, yeah, your save is glitched. Good thing you apparently have a backup.

I agree with Agent. Either there is a problem with the ROM if you're using one, or your Save RAM is corrupted. Restarting is a good idea. If you're using the a cart version of the game (applies to SNES and GBA/DS version), might be that the Save RAM battery is dying. You might need to get a watch shop or get Nintendo to replace the battery for you.

Right, you only use magic in magietk armor, its like that at the beginning of the game too with Vicks/Wedge/Terra Party.

But how the shit did you get those characters in that area in magitek armor, i would replace your RAM battery like Ramchyld suggested, or get a different copy.

well i just loaded and old save file beat hidon again and its alright now relm sketch ability is like tottaly F***** up dude it has caused countless glitches in my game .but now iam off to get locke(no pun intended) kill the evil clown and save the world

If Relm's Sketch is really screwing you up that badly then it sounds like you're using a really old version of the game.

And as we all know: Old game version is old. (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Relm looks zombified. Did you equip the cursed shield on her or something?

iam not sure but i think something cast zombie on her or its a bug and iam playing this on znes and now iam at kefkas tower i have beaten atma weapon and am lost now. party 2 and 3 are standing on a switch which opens a door but i cant seem to find a way for my main party to get there:laugh:

I adore Relm, but whether or not I use her in battle is really besides the point. The point is that I've read a lot about VI and know that certain versions of the game are particularly vulnerable to glitches in relation to her Sketch ability.

its not a hacked rom i gooogled stuff up and agent0042 is right there are a lot of bugs in the snes ver of the game and as far as using relm is concerned i was leveling my chars up and teaching them new spells and relm is a pretty decent magic user to have around if you ask me

Oh yeah, I'm not going to argue with you there. If you favor magic, Relm can be a good choice.

If it's not a hacked ROM, it can be two things:
1. As Agent said, dump of the oldest version available, which is known to be bug-infested (1.0?). Look for a ROM dump of a newer version of the game.
2. Faulty/bug-infested emulator (it happens, trust me. I had a weird experiences with glitchy emulators in the past). I strongly recommend a full-featured, mature-quality emulator like ZSNES or SNES9x.
3. Bad ROM dump (yes, it happens too). Try looking for another dump.

i did say i was playing on znes
sadly i havent been able to post here cause somehow my master boot sector got corrupted and i am getting an awesome error which says "L 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99......" whenever i boot my computer

That's okay -- up until about a couple days ago or so, you wouldn't have been able to get on anyway, working computer or not, because this entire place was kaput for about a week.
