Umm. I just got a DS Lite, to replace my old DS. I want to know, though, what are some mods that are do-able to the DS? I want to take a look into different mods that are involved in the wonderus handheld console (Which by the way, totally kicks the PSP's ass). I looked on the internet, and turned up not very much... Unfortuneatley.
If this thread is looked down upon, sorry. @.@
Thanks alot. ^.^

I don't own a DS but I hear you can mod it to play NES and SNES games, thats all I heard. Plus you should probably go to a DS modding site instead of a Final Fantasy Forum. Not to be rude or anything.

Search for a blog titled DS Fanboy.
There, you will find your answer.

I know.. I just feel very comfortable here and I wouldn't want to have to sign up for something for one thing and then dump the site, you know? I hate akward situations.
Sorry... @.@
Thank you though. ^.^

DS Moding has slowed to a stop, cause people care more about the wii now...
I might be wrong.
Can someone buy me this though?

People don't really mod their DS. They buy flashcarts for them.

No problem, I also think the PSP has some interesting titles, and the handheld design itself surely beats the DS', but when it comes to games... :-P

DS totally pwns PSP.
I just got one myself, so I unfortunately don't know about mods and stuff.
Why would you wanna tamper with it anyway? I like mine the way it is :)

Yeah your right about the game department, but with homebrew you got Snes, Genesis, MAME.... etc. you can do a lot with the psp if you have it hacked. :)

If I had interest in playing like portable MAME and junk I would get a PSP.
BUT I DON'T BECAUSE

You don't mod it, you buy flashcart so you can pirate ds games and play them for free, and also to use it as an MP3 player, video player, and/or a variety of homebrew applications.

for the ds a flashcart is fine, be careful modding a wii though...check craigslist for pros who can help you create backups
mod chips work great btw, i had my ps1 and ps2 modded in hong kong and they still work great with my backup copies (and the originals of course)

Hmmm... I don't know why would you want to mod a DS. There really isn't any reason- the device is truly region free, unlike a PSP. What Wattson said- you don't need to mod the DS, a flashcart is all you need.

Don't know where you heard this, but the PSP is region-free. For games at least. Can't remember for the movies because I don't watch them on it.

This is true, if you go to the PSP homepage they'll give you Japanese demos. Thats how I played Lumines 2 demo.

I don't believe movies are region free for PSP, but whoever uses that to watch movies is like moon rock.
I know it's region free for games because I own a Japanese PSP game. But like I said, not sure for the movies. I prefer to watch them on a 42", not a 4".

Why would you pirate new firmware when it's free?
Unless you mean the old firmware which in that case, I believe you need a mod chip.
Unless you mean completely different firmware, then ok.
