In the 90's, Activision was on a roll. They had so much going for them; Mechwarrior 2, Tony Hawks Pro Skater, Quake II, Battlezone, Interstate '76...they were having an awesome era.

Then came along a game that was a break (and would end up to be a permanent one) from the Mechwarrior franchise: Heavy Gear. Heavy Gear was not only a completely different game in its own right (pilot humanoid bi-pedal robots as to giant mechs), it also boasted one bad ass soundtrack. From the 1st tune that got your blood pumping as you first stepped into the cockpit of a gear and the beginning of a war, to the tune that would enhance the feeling of being isolated in a desert, to having your blood rush as you try to escape the prison, and having you feel some sympathy and then crave revenge to another: Heavy Gear had what Activision had made their Mechwarrior soundtracks awesome and then some.

So, without further ado, here's the link to the soundtrack, via Rapidshare:

Ah, I'd been looking for this.
Battlezone, I should note, is awesome. I cannot help but wonder how well-received an updated retread would be.
