For Nintendo DS, targeted for a summer release. Previewed in the newest (April 2008) issue of GameInformer. It says that it you enjoyed Tactics Advance on GBA, then this has plenty to offer. It says that it lacks some originality in that just about everything about it is "strikingly similar to its predecessor," but since the first game was so good, you can't complain too much.

Meh. I always thought it a poor successor to the original Tactics.

It says you'll be able to meet Vaan and Penelo in the story....wonder if it's true.

Oops this thread is in the FF XIII forum...:D

Anyways, great thread, I'm buying FF Tactics A2 the day it comes out, I'm really excited! Lhuso shows up in FF Tactics(PSP) and that was great!

I haven't played FF Tactics Advance, I don't know if Vaan/Penelo show up in FF Tactics A2, that would be nice though.

Supposively Penelo and Vaan are playable charaters in FF Tactics A2.

I didn't really enjoy the first Advance Tactics so uhh...not really caring too much about A2. Might check it out if I hear good things about it tho.

Oops this thread is in the FF XIII forum...
:) The section is FFXIII and Beyond -- general policy is that any upcoming game with the Final Fantasy title (other than FFVII spinoff games) can be discussed here.

I've been searching all over the net and still haven't come up with any info on the final bosses or any of the summons. You'd figure there'd at least be some spoilers in Japanese.

Nice! I was looking in the General Final Fantasy forum for info on this game, but now I can look here.

Check out the Japanese website, maybe there is information there...

stupid question to ask, but...
will there also be a PSP release of it, or something relative?

My guess is "doubtful." Square-Enix, for some reason, seems to favor platform-exclusive releases.

The OST's good ftr, 'cept that they contiually used the hell out of every FFXII track for the whole "Ivalice Alliance" deal (minus The Lion War).

FF XII: Revenant Wings soundtrack was mainly readjusted FF XII songs, there were some new ones though. I'd like to find out more about the FF Tactics A2 soundtrack.

In FF XII: RW at the end of the game, in possibly the secret ending, Vaan and Penelo kiss.

Now that Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, and Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings are out, and Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is about to be out, I wonder what's next for the Ivalice games?

My bet is that there will be a PSP remake/port of Vagrant Story, and a Vagrant Story 2 for PS 3, although this is also my hopes. :)

You CAN play as Vaan and Penelo. You first meet them in the Moorabella Aerodrome after you accept a mission having to do with a prankster messing with the ferries.

Many many FFXII tracks. I catch myself humming, it's horrible.
