hey guys just downloaded R6Vegas 2 and so far the game is awesome, so is the score, some are reused tracks from the first one but there are new stuff interlaced.

And yes ubisoft finally has the curtesy to give us volume options in this game so its possible to rip this score.

I might not get all the stuff but kataah is gonna work on a direct rip after he finishes assassins creed.

Stay tuned for more updates and mp3's.

Awesome!

I'm especially looking forward to that metal-ish song that plays in the penthouse level.

If you could, try getting the piece from the Theatre.

Damn you both! Kataah knows i'm going ahead with my rip when the game is eventually released on PC, now your going ahead without me! This was the one thing I was looking forward to ripping, seeing as I did the first last year :(

That was just supposed to make you feel bad by the way ;P

But no, I ripped the first for PC last year, enjoyed it, yes some stuff was missing but I got the main tracks. Annoyed me that another rip was released afterward which claimed to 'be better' (those were your words) than mine, and is complete. This was actually not true.
Although it had a lot more tracks (alternate themes of the main tracks ie action ones, I only went for the main ones) if my memory served me right it also missed out a main one or two, so it was not complete.

If you want to work on a joint rip OrangeC we can organise something.

Hmm well im still beating the game, once i finish i will let you know thaln, but either way kataah is might rip a better version which is direct extraction.

BTW im only gonna rip the new tracks, not the reuse stuff, so once i finish the game im gonna load up my trainer and go to parts of the game where the new stuff is.

OrangeC, Thalin, both of your styles of rips are welcome and necessary in the community. Allow me to explain:

Thalin, If memory serves: Your rip of R6:Vegas was the 16-Track one? clocking in at about 66mins, This is perfect for an album that one can listen to in one sitting and enjoy it as such.

The other one I have is DVD-Ricks rip (which may be the other one being referred to here) which is longer, but some of it's sections are repetitive as it has alternate versions of some tracks. Theres no problem with this, if someone loves VGM like we do, we want to hear as much as possible.

Some like having a cohesive album to listen to in one sitting to appreciate the work of the composer on a level of talent that we would associate with our favourite film composers or popular music artists. However that format deprives us of some of the music contained in the game.

So on the flip-side, we need full game-rips so we can even extract what we want, our favourite themes and memorable moments from the score or simply delight in the variations of what a composer has given us. However you can't really sit down and listen to many full gamerips regularly. Just look at the recent Crysis full-rip for example, a marvelous feat to extract (well done) and a joy to hear all the music composed by the great Inon Zur, but who the hell has EIGHT HOURS free to listen to it all? - seriously that's more than a nights sleep for most of us - am I right?

So I think it's fair to say that both Thalin's style and OrangeC's are both welcome and necessary in the community for different reasons. Neither of them are superior or "better than" the other. They are just different.

I would personally be opposed to a "collaboration" between you both as least before you both do your individual thing and produce two different listening experiences from the same work.

Just my 2c :)

but who the hell has EIGHT HOURS free to listen to it all?

I know this is running the thread off-topic, but for full rips like that I tend to spend the day listening to the whole soundtrack (typically on my iPod, but depending on if I'm spending my whole day at home I'll just play it straight from my computer) whilst doing my regular activities.
