I'm going to go off the radar and guess that BIONIC COMMANDO is going to win this one.

Two songs from the score to check out. Crappy quality but I found them on the site.

its a little early to guess the best OST in 2008 isnt it?

i would say that Metal Gear Solid 4 has a good chance to get this title if they dont ruin the whole main theme totally XD

The Best Game Score of 2008 IMO is

UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3

The whole soundtrack is just a work of art, its just brilliant.

A bit early, yeah, but it'd be interesting to see people's thoughts thus far, and its not like people can just bump it later in the year either.

Going to go out on a limb here and say Smash Bros Brawl.

I think it already out. God of War: The Chains of Olympus

Yeah, it maybe similar to other GoW OSTs, but that doesn't stop me from thinking its 2008 best.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl without a doubt... the amount of effort and content that went into it just can't be ignored at 300+ tracks!

God of war is awesome, thats right and the orchestra samples are much more cooler and authentic than in the first score, even though it was great too
but I also love the Assassins Creed soundtrack, when you play the game, it fits perfectly in the atmosphere :)

Just rehashes from old games some being a few seconds long...

Metal Gear 4's music although great really dissapointed me the best track being a rehash (wow i see a trend here :p) from mgs3 the others not having quite the impact and emotion that the music in the old games had.

So far I'm gonna go with Lost Odyssey or Too Human, it will most likely change as this years big games arrive.

I can think of one right now, but I really like Braid and Castle Crasher's OST.

Smash Bros. without a question at this point.

I'm interested to hear Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning though.

Since the Lost Odyssey OST came out on Jan 23 2008, I have to say Lost Odyssey FTW :)

Braid soundtrack is really excellent, but the songs are from various artists and were not created for the game...
For me The Lost Odyssey soundtrack is just awesome and is the best ost until now!

I know I'm absolutely weird but I'm going to wait for the new Rabbids game, De Blob, the new Crash Bandicoot game and Sonic Unleashed come out before deciding the best soundtrack of the year.

Right now Braid is at the top of my list as well as Wario Land: TSD.

I don't know about shrugging off Brawl just because it was a bunch of "rehashes". Noriyuki Iwadare's "Meta Knight's Revenge" remix and Michiko Naruke's "Bramble Blast" remix were two of the best tracks I have heard in recent video game music history. There are rarely any musical pieces that I would consider "better than the original", but these two tracks fit in this category in my opinion. Other notable tracks include almost all of the remixed Kirby music and Star Fox music. Even though my two favorite artists on that list (Noriyuki Iwadare and Yasunori Mitsuda) had only 5 tracks total, the other artists did a fantastic job of remixing those nostalgic tunes. I also think Brawl's soundtrack having a few tracks being a few seconds long is completely irrelevant since all video games have those 10 second jingles, with the Zelda series's OSTs being a prime example of being riddled with "Item Get" and "Opening Treasure Chest" jingles (I'm looking at you, 80-track Ocarina of Time OST).

Brawl. Hands-down. The amount of time and effort put into crafting this musical masterpiece is just ridiculous. Each track sparkles, often transforming a classic piece into something wholly new and exciting.

Brawl's OST truly is awesome and impressive. And yes, the Bramble Blast remix is REALLY good! :D

But I'm saving my opinions also. de Blob has a GREAT soundtrack! :D
And from what I've heard so far, so does Sonic Unleashed.

Each track sparkles

I completely disagree, when I listened to the whole thing in one sitting there were definitely tracks that felt like I slogging through just to get to the next batch of awesome tracks.

High hopes for Gears 2 as well.

Speaking of Gears... Steve Jablonsky is handling the score. I am SHOCKED they aren't going with Kevin Riepl.
