April fools day prank, or way to generate hype?!

i don't know. it looks like it took a ot of time and money to make it, so why would it be fake? on the otherhand, it IS april fool's day.

The credits pretty clearly say that IGN made it. Definitely a prank, but one hell of a cool one considering the amount of effort that went into it.

Apparently Rainbow films produced the trailer for IGN as an April Fools prank, but i'll be damned if it's not one bitchin' trailer!

The comments are really funny. The CGI for the trailer was actually pretty good. However IF someone were to ever make a LoZ movie in the future for the love of god I would hope they would pick better people for Link and Ganondorf.

second, that's a pretty weak trailer with no hint of a storyline for a movie whatsoever.

Chill, dude. Do you even know why it started? No, don't look it up and say you do, lest you be deceitful in your response. Then you would just be a hypocrite and nobody wants that.

Anyway...it was a pretty damn cool April fool's joke. Ganondorf looked like a red-haired gorilla and Link looked a bit like Michael Jackson, but the mosters looked pretty cool, and the story didn't seem too far from any of the games. I might actually see such a movie if Ganondorf and Link didn't look so incredibly ridiculous.

OK, if you're looking for EVERYTHING to be perfect, you're bound to hate just about any video game movie. There are times when they must improvise and/or make a few changes for a "better" game-to-movie transition.
Yeah, VG movies have a bad rep going for 'em, but what about the few decent ones like the first Mortal Kombat movie (IMO, the first successful VG movie; I'm sure a few have a bit to say about Tron, though), the first RE movie (sure, it lacked many of the VG characters, but you could've easily slipped this one perfectly into the rest of the RE arc), or Hitman?
If you go through the trash, I'm sure you can find a few good gems.
No, Super Mario Bros, Double Dragons, and MK: Anihilation have no sympathy from me.

Well, good thing for me, I never believed it was real anyways. If it was real, it would've had better cinematography and a better Ganondorf(I couldn't help but laugh when I saw him.. so many inside jokes >_<). I think it'd be cool if they made a Zelda anime, but I wouldn't want to see it acted out by live actors. They're making a DBZ movie with live actors.. they already have most of the actors down, just go to IMDB.. I'm scared.
