So anyway I just have a question but this could possibly evolve into discussion. So I’ve never seen any of his films, but I have heard him be referred to as the "Ed Wood" of our generation (notorious for sucking balls and making you want that time in your life back).
So, call me weird but whenever I hear about a movie that’s notorious for sucking like that, I get the urge to watch it out of sheer curiosity to know what the whole anti-hype was about or just for a good laugh (unless it sucks in such a way that it would bore me to death). Thing is, I haven’t played any of the games that they’re supposed to be loosely based on, but having not played the game would it still seem as bad and worth it for the above?
Only asking because for movies that are a flop, he sure seems to be getting some decent actors. And what I also wonder is how?
That’s all for now…
Boll is able to acquire funding thanks to German tax laws that reward investments in film. The law allows investors in German-owned films to write off 100% of their investment as a tax deduction; it also allows them to invest borrowed money and write off any fees associated with the loan. The investor is then only required to pay taxes on the profits made by the movie; if the movie loses money, the investor gets a tax writeoff.
Genius I tell you!
I’t makes total sense!
