Wondering if anyone has a means of finding this extremely rare, out of print CD for sale (no MP3s). Cocoebiz VGM World actually has it, but I'm not really interested in making a car payment for it. Here's some information if it helps.

Gradius Gaiden
Konami of Japan
KICA-7817
Nories Miura

I'll reiterate: I am NOT interested in any MP3 resources. Thanks.

Hello.

I'll tell you my point of view about this..

This album is sure expensive, but really, you will not find it at a better price.
This album is quite rare.. and does not sell often.

There is actually 2 auctions on Yahoo Japan, and they are BOTH more than 20 000 Yens. That's the price for it..

Now.. i'd rather buy it from VGMworld since these guys provide awesome service. (and it's sure lesser complicated than importing it from Japan)

This is my 2 cents... you can search ebay maybe.. but i wish you good luck to "OWN" this album.

It's a fantastic soundtrack, but not worth the rediculous price is goes for. If you absolutely must have it, then get it from the Galbadia Hotel. But if you need the actual CD OST, then good luck man.

Yeah, I'm aware of Galbadia...but I'm also a collector too. There are some equally rare tracks that I've seen throughout the years that I eventually received. None were even close to this price though. It's like an extremely expensive comic book back issue or something...!

I'm actually the reason why VGM has it in stock on their site. I asked them to make an attempt to get the disc last year, and they did. But once I saw the price, it left me hesitant to purchase it.

Not that I'm going to get it from a Yahoo Japan Auction, but what is the equivalent of 20 000 yen nowadays?

It's a bit more than 200 US$, 125 € or 100 Pounds (seeing as you didn't put any information about your whereabouts into your profile).

If you know and are used to buy from Japan auctions.. i'd say go, otherwise i'd give up instantly.
Since the majority of sellers does not ship internationally it gets complicated.. you need to find some sort of broker.. and this will certainly not lessen the price.

All i can provide is a good VBR encode is you are in deep need.
(certainly not the crap rip for GH..), i'd rather buy the soundtrack.

Yeah, it's bad enough that Gradius Gaiden is that expensive...to go through international shipping via an auction is way more trouble than what it's worth. I will still consider VGM World since their single copy isn't flying off the shelf. But we'll see.

All I know is that there were other discs in the past that I waited years for and ended up getting them in excellent condition (practically new with all of the extras) under decent prices. This is really the last one that has averted me, so hopefully the time (and price) will be right very soon. Thanks again everyone.
