Square already did a 'Mario Kart' type game with Chocobo Racing, which featured classic FF characters and places, although it came out before FFIX was even thought of(Cloud and Squall were secret characters, and you could even race in the Galbadian capital of Deling City, complete with all the landmarks). Still, Square MIGHT consider releasing a sequel, which could include some FFIX characters, however, one thing still remains; what vehicles would the characters use? All on airships? Garnet on the Red Rose, Zidane on the Prima Vista, etc..? Hmmm....

Quote:

Garnet: "How did you survive?"
Zidane: "I didn't have a choice. I had to live.
I wanted to come home to you.
So,... I sang your song."
Garnet: "Our song."

What about Tekken 74960890542789084360438607890687905 ...I don't know how many are them these days, but anyway, fighting game with FF characters?
...Nah, a bad idea I admit. Can't imagine Vivi and Brahne kicking each others asses on Treno's streets.

I'll return once I remember the better idea I once had... Don't remember it anymore, but it was good, I'm sure of it...

I heard a rumour ages ago that supposedly Square were meant to making a sequel to Ergheiz, so, if that was true, there was a very remote chance they might include some FFIX characters. Unfortunately, a spin-off game featuring FFIX characters probabaly will never happen, given that Kingdom Hearts, that stupid Square/Disney collabaration, features characters from FFVII, VIII and X but not IX, so I don't think there's a chance of ever seeing Zidane and the gang anywhere else other than in FFIX (or that weird Japanese Coke commercial!).

ummm......call me crazy (as some of u might think, given that im smitten over milla jovovich's leeloo character), but the characters in 9 were kinda....dull, for lacking of a better word. vivi was very deep though, so that was awesome (plus hes adorable), and kuja was a very in-depth villain, moreso than previous ones, but overall, the characters sucked. to see them anywhere else without being accompanied by other ff characters would b a waste. i would >>almost<< rather c ff5 characters duke it out or drive around like dkr or mc peeps. i think it would b an incredibly kEwL idea though 2 have many ff peeps in those cliche' fighting, driving, and mario-party type games....hey, wouldn't a 'ff party' game b stellar......hmmm....

Yeah, we could have Zidane vs that sodding Stiener! And as for the Chocobo game, um, isn't that like the Choco mini-game in FF7?
Oh and >_< to all FF9 charactor haters! You have no heart!

Chocobo Racing was actually a Mario-Kart style racing game released by Square back in 1998/99 (it was one of their 'Chocobo releases' which the company were using to establish the Chocobo as the company mascot). It features the some familar character classes and music from the earlier FF games (such as the Black Mage, White Mage, Goblin, Fat Chocobo, Cid, Bahamut etc. Cloud and Squall were even secret characters!)

Unfortunately, the graphics left a lot to be desired, looking like something like a first-generation release than something from the turn of the century. Luckily, if you play it on a PS2, the graphics can be improved considerably.
