Looking for some asian music??? Then read on.
I've seen many people requesting japanese/chinese/korean albums in this forum, and I always think that its nice when others upload and share their stuff, but most of that has already been done by someone else in other forums or sites, so I thought I should share some links and tips with you all to help out a bit.
TORRENTS:
First of all, my top choice to get stuff is through torrenting, and the absolute best tracker is at JPOPSUKI:
Jpopsuki Tracker (http://mullemeck.serveftp.org/jps_beta/index.php)
Jpopsuki Forums (http://mullemeck.serveftp.org/jps_beta/forum/index.php)
there you can find almost anything, and if its not there or not being seeded anymore you can always use their forum and request it. As the name implies, you'll mainly find japanese releases there, but there is enough cpop and kpop to get you started as well.
DDLs SITES:
I know of these 2 sites from guys/gals who have compiled a bunch of direct download links, and they have a lot of cpop and some kpop too:
Dmrioja's (http://dmriojas.wordpress.com/)
Crazyvoni's (http://aznmusiclove.wordpress.com/index/)
There is also a site, that much like "our own" Galbadia Hotel soundtrack download site, you can get a bunch of albums but will have to download a track at a time, but it has lots of asian music:
JMP3 (http://www.jmp3.net/)
MUSIC FORUMS:
There are several music forums out there in which you'll find a lot of DDLs. I personally use and recommend these two which are particularly useful to find cpop and kpop:
Popular Asians Forum (http://www.popularasians.com/forum/)
Get AZN Music Forum (http://www.getasianmusic.com/forum/)
for example, you'll find a guy sharing 1200+ kpop albums (http://www.popularasians.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15278) in one thread.
I hate to say obvious things, but just in case you are new to all this, always use the search engines in each site to look for stuff before requesting it.
If you are having trouble finding something, I'll be glad to help and look for it, just let me know here (hell, I might have it myself).
As a final comment, I encourage everyone to try not just different music genres, but to at least try to some artists from China, some from Taiwan, some from Korea, some from Japan and so on. Just get some names/recommendations from people and take them for a test ride using youtube, if you dont like them there is no harm, and if you do now you know where to start looking for their albums.
Cheers!
