How do you revive a fainted character? I tried going to an inn but it doesn't work. And if the answer is Phoenix downs then how do I get them?

haha. i had the problem too. you know the wells in each town? one is for replenishing HP and MP, and other one that usually says "Nothing happens..." is for reviving your characters.

oh and phoenix downs are rare. use them wisely.

Discussion of the classic games belongs in the Classics section, even the remakes made for the handheld systems. Moving...

It really wasn't -- these early FF games really make you conserve on your items.

you can also buy a spell to revive a character... but thats a bit further into the game.

I think Final Fantasy II was the worst out of the whole lot when it came to item and HP/MP conservation.

I couldn't get into FFII.

No one sane can.

Also, I believe there are various areas in FFIII (with magical pots or something) that automatically revive your characters. I can't remember how many towns have them though.

I couldn't get into FFII.

I really got into the story.

I REALLY got into the story.

Now, the rest of it was just fucked. Pandemonium was the hardest area in ANY Final Fantasy game I ever had to tackle. Maybe the second hardest, bringing The World of Darkness from Final Fantasy III into the situation. But I wanted the story, it was an insatiable need to finish the story, so I progressed inceasently.

Although Guy's uncanny ability to talk to beavers was very disturbing.

Now when I played Dawn of Souls after completing Final Fantasy II, that was different. That took me a while to care about, lol.

Well, the Dawn of Souls release fix any of the game's problems?

Not at all. I don't think anything save for a complete overhaul of everything in the game save for the plot, sprites, and things of that sort, and a save spot in the beginning of Pandemonium could do that, really.

Final Fantasy is flawless, but out of all of them that I played, Final Fantasy II was the most monotunus (sp?). I still haven't played V, but I really should.

Yeah, you really should. V is awesomeness.

P.S.: If the plot is that good, maybe I'll just read the script of the game. I generally enjoy doing that.

I heard that the story left soooo much to be desired in V, that it wasn't really funny, but the gameplay made up for it. I just haven't gotten around to actually playing it.

But I DO reccomend you read the script, becasue Final Fantasy II is really a story that shouldn't be missed out on. It just so happens that it takes someone with pretty much NO life at all to sit and play through the constant headaches that are Final Fantasy II.:-D

What you heard about V's story is so much puffed-up bull.

Guys. I have been debating about wether or not, to buy FF I and II for my PSP. But i was wondering, they cant be that big can they? i mean, there not as long as 7 or 8 are they. How many hours of gameplay would you say it takes.? because i dont want to get them if il have it done in a week. What can you guys tell me??

That II is barely worth anything, let alone yoru time and money and that I will be done with in less than 15 hjours of gameplay. Plus, if you have already played Final Fantasy I and II Dawn of Souls, it is useless anyway. All the PSP versions are are the same game save for a slight graphical overhaul.

You forgot some bonus dungeons in FF2 that add nothing to the game, except more headaches.

i kinda liked ffII because you didnt have to level up
on my GBA FFII i have like 16 sword lv for firion... i havent even lost minwu yet

anyways bak to the topic, i'd rather over train the characters and stuff, to prevent dying...
