You're being pretty dumb yourself at the moment. Do you realize what you just did? You just completely disagreed with him on a fundamental level and criticized me for calling him an idiot because he made a point you just professed to disagree with, yet you still say was good.
Contradict yourself much?

Lurinar_Aylyn makes a good point and your write him off as an "idiot". Wow, maybe you should grow the brain.
Lurinar's right... the way a games sells is a pretty good indicator of what people feel about it. For some reason, even with all it's flaws, FFVII has sold very well and people seem to like it. I like it myself, honestly, but it's not my favorite. I don't really like Halo 3 that much but it did make 170 million dollars on it's opening day: the biggest entertainment release in history.
Sales don't exactly determine quality, of course, and I think that was the point Prak was trying to make but sales certainly do tell us something: people like FFVII.
Or it can simply tell us that people are general idiots who base their purchases on hype?

Yeah, it could tell us that too... lol.
I agree that sales are factor you can measure in determining the popularity and sometimes the quality of the game.
I also admit that popularity and sales don't always mean a game is good.
I'm just approaching this honestly... In that last post I said that people seem to like FFVII based off sales. I also said that sales don't mean everything so there's always room to argue. Is that contradiction? Maybe... but I'm just speaking honestly.
As far as Lurinar's point goes I was just saying that you didn't address his comment: you simply dismissed him as "idiot" which is not very mature.

Yes, im new, so i realize my opinion carries no merit here. It just amazes me that some people in the thread are trying to prove whether FFVII is a good game or a bad game. You can't prove anything of the sort. I personally enjoyed the characters in FFVII, and I enjoyed the story, and while I realize that many on here will be quick to point out all of their flaws, which of course is fine, its shocking how a few members seem bent on trying to prove whether certain elements such as characters and plot are good or bad, because its impossible to do so. No matter how many supporting points a person gives, you cannot determine for someone else whether a game is good or bad. All i'm saying is there is nothing wrong with liking or disliking this game, and it seems a bit childish to try and prove anything when it can't be done.

Okay, you get one  for reviving the thread.
And another  for your stupid comments.

Yes, i did revive a thread, but what did i say say that was stupid? I said it seems childish to try to prove something that cannot be proven. If you don't think it is childish, fair enough then, but do you believe it is possible to prove to someone besides yourself how good something is? I am just commenting on how many post more or less say "the plot is uncreative and dull and the characters are boring, therefore, the game is bad." You can make all the suggestions and points you want, but can you prove it? If you can, please explain.

I'm not sure whether I should leave the thread open and let you get roasted alive, or just close it. My instincts, plus the fact that I'm way tired of this thread are telling me to close it. This type of argument has been brought up way too many times before, and it never leads anywhere. If you don't get it, you're probably not going to get it. Therefore, closed.
