Should I change my nick (y/n)?

For what it's worth, I haven't changed mine once since I registered for the boards years ago.
And congrats again on beating the game. Planning to play it again / try anything different?

Me neither. I only played up until Galufs granddaughter comes in and you have to fight....ex. Death I believe. I think that's wrong though.
yeah, X-Death. Such a creative name.

Well, I thought it over, and decided to not change nicks.

Definately. I've started a new game a few days ago and this time plan to steal the complete genji set from Gilgamesh this time 'round (it completely slipped my mind the last time I played).

Well, I was heeding a walkthrough's suggestion of dual-summoning Bahamut and healing. So I was definately going to need Dualcast, Summon and White. That's where the Mime job comes in. Assign Dualcast to slot 1, Summon to slot 2 and White to Slot 3. Presto! Quick and dirty victory to the exdeath and neo exdeath battles.

That's about right. It's in the large tree in the second world, correct? You're about 2/3 of completing the game.

Lol. I agree. But he's no pushover tho. The battle certainly took long, and I almost ran out of MP. And I recall using arise at least once or twice towards the end battle.

Only 2/3!! I thought it was just a darn short game. But I should have guessed FFs have a knack for misleading you who the final boss is.

Well, In FFV, ExDeath (or X-Death, depending on whether you preferred the PSOne translation, the GBA translation or the SNES fantrans) is indeed the final boss. However, there's still plenty to be done after your encounter with ExDeath in the tree.

Ah thanks for clearing that up.

Well, there's ExDeath, and then there's "Neo ExDeath," which some people compare to FFIX's Necron. Oh, and there are so many translations for this particular FF that I'm not sure which I prefer anymore. Though, I think ExDeath maybe looks a bit better.
Guilty as charged, I played the PSX port, seeing as it was the first US release of the game, iirc (outside of emulators) :)

No prob. If you're up for spoilers and want to know what's ahead after that, go ahead and look up a walkthrough on GameFAQs ;)

Right. The final ExDeath battle is very long. Kinda like FFIV where the final boss has two forms, except that this time around you pound on the first form until it dies and gets revived as the second form (Neo ExDeath). Then you pound on the second form until all four part of it dies.

Well, I don't really know of that many translations for it- I only played both the RPGe fantranslation for the SNES version (this was before the PSX port was officially released) and this GBA version. Never played the PSX version as I had problems hunting down the game. Iirc both the SNES fantrans and the GBA version both has Exdeath spelled as "ExDeath"

Yep, that's right. The PSX port is the first official release of the game in the US.
