Alright, people. I've played and owned 4 Final Fantasy-games, and I've liked all of them. Now I want to buy some another RPG-game, and I need your opinion what would be worth of buying. It can be different from FF games, but not much harder than them. So, what do you guys recommend? I've been thinking about to buy Star Ocean or Suikoden, are they good?

Well, there's Legend of Mana, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears (a bit older), Secret of Mana (also older) and Golden Sun. Nice:D

The 7th Saga was a masterpiece in my opinion. Also, you can't go wrong with anything from the Dragon Warrior series. The Breath of Fire series is also a decent one as well.

If you're looking for some online gaming I would suggest Diablo II, mainly because its free meaning you won't have to worry about a bill if you don't like the game. From what I've heard Dungeon Siege is pretty good as well.

Suikoden: good plot, 108 characters, alot of freedom, ok graphics, just buy it

Suikoden 2: my fav game of all time, just buy it, Very good and deep story line, over 108 characters, strategy, awsome graphics

both of them are in my top 3(FFTacyics is #2), old school players will luv the 2D graphics, which are very good, dont hesitate, just buy them, their only about from 10 to 20 $ but their both easily worth 40$ each

I would recommend playing Suikoden 1 before going on to Suikoden 2 because you can use your save data from 1 in 2. (I won't say more than that at the moment, don't want to spoil anything.) I'd recommend Breath Of Fire III (I loved it), Grandia (the storyline is well worth playing through it) and Alundra (for a little bit of a different style of RPG, the old Zelda style RPG.)

Breath of Fire Series
Star Ocean
Chrono Games (both)
Grandia
Dark Cloud
Wild Arms
Xenogears (i SERIOUSLY recommend that)

I've only played the first Suikoden. How do you use the save data from the first one on the second?

Should all be explained in the instruction manual of the game when you buy it. If I remember correctly, when you start a new game and name your character, the game says "Would you like to load save data from the first Suikoden?" Reply yes, and you can. The save place must be in the final dungeon of Suikoden, otherwise it won't work, but there's some neat features included because of it, and a very good sub plot.

Anyways, also forgot to mention Wild ARMS as another possible game to place, and, if you've got the time and you can find it, Shining Force 2 on the Sega Genesis / Megadrive. That's the game that got me into RPGs in the first place, and another with a good storyline behind it.

Grandia 2! I can see that I have about the same experience as you have with the ff's, and I can say; the battle system is just so much more fun than any ff, serieusly it's not even avoiding those irritating-random-encouner-crap it's just looking for enemies to battle.
The storyline is good, and the graphics look a little bit like ff7-better off course but more like the same, simple style but it's just beatiful though-
Ahh, just buy it or rent it first you're gonna love it.

Suikoden 2 is getting rare. You'll have to pay near to more than $40 for it. other reccomendations from Bahamut Zero get the thumbs up as well.

get Wild Arms, but stay clear of Wild Arms 2. not much of a relation to the first, and made by a different team.

Xenogears was rereleased a while ago. new copies are easy to find now.

it was released 2(3?) years ago. Try finding a copy for that price now.

seriously. used copies are going in the $30-40 range, and new has sold for over $50 a few times. Gamestop has it for $32(used I believe), and thats one of the few online retailers to even list it.

check around.

Hi,

Well it depends on which Final Fantasy Games you have, if you don't have Final Fantasy 10, I suggest to get it, its the best RPG ever. Or there is THE LEGEND OF DRAGOON, OR TRY THE LEGEND OF ZELDA SERIES.

If you are into computer gaming, I highly recomend the Heroes of Might and Magic series and the Might and Magic series, both are very entertaining and very different from FF games. Heroes is a type of strategy rpg and THE best game series I've ever played, yes even better than FF, and if you do pick this game up I suggest playing it against or with a few friends, that gives this game never ending replay value.

I recently bought Never Winter Nights and Morrowind. They r both incredable games. Morrowind is a single player revolution in the rpg gaming. The game is massive it takes whole lot of time to finish it and even then u wont have seen everything, even when u choose to b another class/race the game will b different.

Never Winter Nights is a new online multiplayer rpg. This game is impressive as well. U can team u in 1 or more party's and u can play the game by the orignal story or go advanturing as u like. Total freedom is the best thing of the game. U can battle eachother 1on1 or party vs party anything u like. And if u've completed the main story and u want more?? Then go and make ur own story.
