Thanks again for the upload. Now that I've taken time to listen.... a thought.... I can't decide how I feel having the rip include ambient sounds and other game sound effects (waterfalls, drips, jumping, etc). It makes it a better record of the game, but it's not a true soundtrack. I appreciate having it regardless, but if someone decides to rip Sly 2, it might be a good idea to mute the sound effects in the game and just have the music play/record. What do others think?

It's good to see my rip is still getting around to fans of Sly Cooper. This was one of my earlier gamerips way back when GamingForce was still alive and kicking and I'm still quite proud of it even today, despite its flaws. The inclusion of sound effects and ambient noise is regrettable, but Sly 1 didn't have any option to mute sound effects and voices, unlike its two successors, so it really can't be helped. It's possible that a digital rip using computer software might be able to isolate the music by itself, but I no longer have the game on hand to try. I've been thinking lately that I should find a cheap used copy somewhere and try again, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for listening!

Hey al, I was pointed to this forum through a mailing list, was pleasently surprised o find just about every game I've worked on having fans of the music. This gig I was particulaly fond of, because of the difficulty in making tiny sound banks, scripting the interactive music engine, AND making decent music, all on my own.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that there's an unreleased "Demo" cue at my website www.musicyouneed.com in the Media section. Its called Thief on a Leash. It was my first try at working with the PS2s internal sound capabilities for Sly.

There is also a cue called Sizzlin' that I originally created as a score the Sly 2 Trailer for E3.

Lastly there is Panda Stomp which is the cue in "Fire in the Sky".
