hi all,
i have just finished making a soundtrack compilation of the cool PSP game Cube from the ripped original sound loops composed by New Zealand electro group Pitch Black. (i used the extracted files by converting them to 44.1 kHz wav and joined/crossfaded them in WaveLab.)
i share the original ATRAC3 audio loops as well, so if you just want to have them, there you go, i leave it up to you:
Cube PSP Atrac3 UMD rip PART 1 (http://rapidshare.com/files/67135201/Cube_PSP__Atrac3_UMD_rip_.part1.rar)
Cube PSP Atrac3 UMD rip PART 2 (http://rapidshare.com/files/67129541/Cube_PSP__Atrac3_UMD_rip_.part2.rar)
some info about the tracks:
i made a little investigation about the game and its music, if you're not interested, just roll down to the URL's. :)
there are 9 zones (3 zones make a platform: Easy, Medium and Hard) and 9 bonus levels make the first Training zone in the Training platform. (10 Training levels make the second Training zone using the same short Training loop sequence, and the 3rd Training zone have room for custom made levels). each zone have 15 levels, except the Training platform ones: the Bonus zone has 9 levels, and the Training zone has 10 levels.
the Zones are the following:
Training: Bonus, Training, Custom
Easy: Pink, Purple, Red
Medium: Aqua, Navy, Blue
Hard: Violet, Yellow, Gold
the UMD consists of the following audio directories with .at3 files:
Asiana (violet01...15.at3)

each level has a tune that loops till you end the level, but there are less loops than levels, so they repeat in some way. also there are melody variations, to be exact, each melody has 3 variation loops.
it was a bit difficult to rearrange the loops in separate folders, i had to spend hours and hours listening to them, so here is the list i made:

i divided the themes from the first zone (violet) in 9 parts making 9 different themes, then arranged all the other loops by putting their names to the line where they belong. in the end, i gave each line the name of the zone, where the actual theme is present 3 times (in the 1st, the 10th and the 15th level).
this way i could arrange all loops in 1 intro theme, 9 main themes and 9 bonus level themes. each main theme consists of 3 variation loops and each bonus level theme consists of 5 variation loops. (the training sequence is a small loop that is a variation of bonus level no. 5 "Gatherer", so i used it there).
i joined the loops in an order so to make a listenable track and used crossfading where it was necessary (at too "big loop changes" or at endings, mainly during making the bonus level themes... i had to add some variety to the endings by crossfading the loops in reverse order).
some notes to this:
1. the Intro track is the most difficult one, because the 3 loops have little in common, so i started with the ambient like one and used the real intro loop to connect the ambient like with the select platform loop, and added the ambient like loop to it to make a good ending.
2. i had to make a lot of crossfades in the Toxica track, because it sounded pretty lame, when i made a simple loop sequence.
3. i moved the beginning part of Atlantica's first loop to the end, it fits better there and makes a good moody ending.
4. did the same with Cosmica's second loop, but only copied, not moved.
the tracklisting is the following:
01 Intro (2:38) (incuding the menu and start platform loops)
02 Asiana (violet zone) (3:55)
03 Pacifica (yellow zone) (3:05)
04 Toxica (gold zone) (3:48)
