Trying my luck again... anyone have a rip of the music that plays in the eerie forest section of Shattered Memories? It's by far my favorite music from that game, but wasn't on the soundtrack (how typical!)

It's from the site "Silent Hill: Lost Memories". I've looked through the PC Soundtrack version of SH:H, and it has several songs on it that are not on the Complete Soundtrack. By any chance, does someone happen to have a tracklisting for the Silent Hill: Homecoming PC Soundtrack? It'd be greatly appreciated.

The only way the dialogue can be removed is if the cutscene glitches. It has happened to me where the music and the video would play normally but the voices wouldn't. I guess it's a matter of chance/luck and how buggy your version of the game is. Or find a way to manipulate and silence the dialogue file.

No its perfectly understandable, sucks really bad though..the background music for the cutscene is really great. So i take it the music and dialogue were fused together in the same soundfile or what?

I don't think the music and the voices are fused, I think they're separate. I could be wrong, but on the PC version, I managed to find the one for just the voices. I didn't have any luck in trying to silent it or even delete it, though. That got frustrating...

Anyway, I wish they had created the cutscene files in more recognizable formats like they did for Homecoming.

The music from BFAW is really good, I just wish my game would glitch up at the right time and in the right way, lol.

well, if they really are separate, there has to be some sort of program that can find those files. It's silly that they are hidden though.

Not to diminish the work of whomever ripped "Shattered Memories", but can someone rip the actual music from the game? I know we have the OST, but that's all remixed and the music is different in-game. For example, maybe we could get an instrumental version of the song Michelle sings.

Its not easy to get the music from SHSM, the archive system seems a bit complexe.
I was able already to extract some files, but i remember some tracks were still missing.
Maybe I will release something, even uncomplete, those days.

By the way if you're getting SH3 I recommend the one that includes #26 Rain of Brass Petals - Three Voices Edit which is my favorite from that album (and if you're making a purchase pay attention, I own the actual album and that one's not on my copy).
While I'm at it I also recommend Nurses of Despair which is on one of the Broken Notes albums. I can't get enough of that one.

Are the earlier discs remasters? is Homecoming lossless? The community is dying to know!!

I'll be getting the box sometime soon (already shipped) and will compare to the CDs I already own (which are the ones for SH 2, 3, 4, 0, and Shattered Memories). I heard they were all remastered, but I'll let you guys know what my ears find out. :p

Unless somebody gets to it first, I'll upload the Homecoming OST from the box. I assume it sounds better than the US preorder bonus, but that's just a guess.

Edit: Just read greysun's edit. :p Supply those FLACs, yo! If I rip any of this stuff it'll be no higher than 320kbps and I know some people have qualms with that, heh.

Hi guys! Just want to give an update. The links for the FLAC files, videos [from the DVD] and scans of the inserts should be posted and ready by tomorrow.

Which format for videos would be best for everyone? I have them already in VOB. I'm pretty sure most DVD players and Windows Media Player are able to play those kind of files. If there's another format preferred, just let me know.

As for the MP3 files, I'm not sure if anyone except Abnormal Freak will be posting them. If someone is, let me know. If not, I can post those, too. :)

All the files below [except the songs "One More Soul to the Call" on Homecoming and "Always on My Mind" on Shattered Memories] are in FLAC.

"One More Soul to the Call" and "Always on My Mind" are WAV files. When I tried ripping these two tracks as FLAC, they came out distorted. I've tried re-ripping them several times. They continued to sound bad. But the WAV versions came out great. So I included them instead. Sorry about that. I have checked the rest of the FLAC songs. They came out great as well. For some weird reason, only those two vocal tracks just refused to convert over properly.

**Remember, if any of the other tracks sound bad or don't sound right, tell me and I will see what I can do.** I can create links to MP3 versions too if no one is able to. But that'll need a few more days for that to happen.

Nope. All the same. I'm kind of torn on that: Part of me wanted them to be remastered to further justify spending all that money on stuff I mostly already own, but another part of me was thinking, "Remastered? Ludicrous! They sound great as they are!"

The Homecoming OST and extras disc make it sort of worth the purchase, though. The Homecoming soundtrack sounds so much better now: slightly different mixes, better sound quality (likely sourced from original masters). It's the soundtrack the game should have had to begin with. I'm just puzzled why the box doesn't include the original version of "Alex Theme". Yamaoka's MACHINE HEAD remix is better, definitely, but throwing away the original is kind of bogus.

Also could have used the exclusive tracks from Robbie Tracks, SH3 Special Mini Sound Track, the US promotional SH4 soundtrack, as well as other previously unreleased stuff to make the set more complete. The extras disc is super nice, though: sounds really cohesive, and I LOVELOVELOVE "Recorder 2007" at the very end, ha ha.

The DVD is a complete waste. Instead of putting cool stuff on there in high quality like the music videos, it's just worthless game trailers, and not even the cooler trailers like what SH4 had. Actually, I don't even know if there are other music videos beyond "You're Not Here"... I seem to recall one for SH4, but I could be mistaken. Still, "You're Not Here" vid would've been awesome, maybe throw in the video for Yamaoka's "iFUTURELIST"—you know, cool things. Instead I'm stuck watching bad YouTube uploads of 'em, ha. The Robbie promo video should be on there too...and the song from the video should be on one of the CDs, ha.

Oh, well. :p Nothing's ever perfect.

Speaking of Robbie Tracks... Anybody have high quality rips of that? All I've found are WMAs and 128kbps MP3s, though I have yet to peruse all posts on this thread.

Edit: OK, so I just noticed there are 192kbps Robbie files on the second page, heh. 192's fine by my ears, but it would be awesome to have 'em much higher quality as well.

Well looks like the ISO disc is region 2 encoded so it will not play on my drive without special software or drive hacking. :(
Since first set of links contain the VOB files I assume they also are encoded with the same region. Like most of you I usually don't download dvds...I rent or buy them. Any helpful suggestions will be appreciated.

Edit: after reading Abnormal Freak's comments I think I will just enjoy the music and pass on the dvd...just wish I had known about the region thing.

It's just a shame they waste a perfectly good DVD on crap. :p The SH4 trailer has a pretty freaky bit toward the end. The intro of the game pretty much plays the same thing, but omits the final part.

I used MagicISO to bun it but would not play for me because the original was made with region 2 encoding. (Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland)

The complete dvd was compressed to an ISO image which can be burned to dvd using most burning sofware. I used MagicISO to bun it but would not play for me because the original was made with region 2 encoding. (Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland)

If the ripper would use DVD Decrypter it would remove the region protection code from the files.
I have a lot of original japanese dvds (Region 2), and use that program to back them up.
Also ISO is not a compressed archive like .zip/.rar files, it's just a container format, nothing is compressed.

Yeah I need to do that I remember when I would upload it two times but never copied the links, looks like I am kicking myself for not doing it. I've used two websites that say they are the best file distributor sharebee and massmirror and both lose files like a bad case of amnesia.

I have used several multi-uploaders over the last few years and I've noticed usually only two hosts' links are still active after 60 days...Megaupload and Rapidshare. RS pretty have shot themselves in the foot by treating their customers like dirt and mass-deleting there files. In my view if you want to keep working links that can last for years is to use Megaupload and code the link(s) so they are not "live".

Looks like I'm reuploading... :-(
Oh, well... I guess I'll take this opportunity to add some more stuff I dug up recently.

The best I have on that front is a 192kbps of the song, but with Silent Hill music I always try my best to get the highest quality versions I personally find, so while not sure if there is a higher quality version, we can hope. The length is simply since the song loops at that point.

Actually he ripped them from other rippers. I just looked at his SH2 track lists, and they are collected from prior "complete" rips done by others. You can find these tracks on Silent Hill Memories.

At any rate, I do plan on doing SH4, I just need to get a copy of the PC version to check for sound quality.

Looking forward to it! SH2 has some standout tracks to me, but I think SH4 is my favorite OST all around. The BGM and everything was a bit different than the banging/loud noises kind of thing going on in the others. Loved SH4's music.

I guess this is as good a time as any.

Unfortunately, it seems that I don't have the mp3 version anymore. I can upload either the FLAC version which is 800MB, or re-encode again to mp3 (which is easy and fast, but sound files wont be exactly the same)

You need to update to the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, after that the download should countdown to 99% hesitate then your browser's download manager should come up and prompt you to save the file to your computer.

Actually he ripped them from other rippers. I just looked at his SH2 track lists, and they are collected from prior "complete" rips done by others. You can find these tracks on Silent Hill Memories.

At any rate, I do plan on doing SH4, I just need to get a copy of the PC version to check for sound quality.
It seems FirebrandX was going to work on a complete 145 track rip. A lot of the official OST's on the first page omit a lot of the BGM from the game.

PSA: Been getting emails about the MEGA links asking for encryption keys...

The links I've posted include the keys however, when you click them somehow the key is lost in the redirection...

A work around has been to "copy link location," paste, and delete "%20%20" or any BLANK spaces in the url.
Or click on the link as normal, look at the url & make sure there are no spaces or "%20%20"

Anyone know a more permanent fix or what's causing it??

Such an album doesn't exist. Quick googling shows me that it's just track collection compiled by someone and uploaded on a blog.
