*Sigh* :( FileFactory is acting up, it's turning out to be the next MegaUpload. Recently I've only been able to download 1 part of and album every 90 minutes and I'm no longer able to download more then one file at a time. Well I guess I should have known that this was going to come.

Welcome to the club. I still have yet to get part 2 of Chrono Symphonic, and part 2, 3 and 4 of Chrono Cross. XD I think the only thing I downloaded here in weeks is Soul Calibur III.

Oh yeah and I too would like to know how to make this a 5 star rated thread. I looked around for the setting but I wasn't able to find it.

Sarah once said there was a "Rate this Thread" link between "Search this Thread" and "Display Modes", but no matter how hard I look, it definitely isn't there. I guess she (unknowingly) turned it off. So yeah, maybe we should just ask her? That's kinda weird, but oh well... XD

Oh, and you're welcome for SC3 ^^ I'm getting disc one of that F-Zero AX-GX OST up now. Man, I seriously didn't expect that it'd be so tedious to get these OST's from people (in respect to me fulfilling requests), but hey, what can you do ^^ Just wait...and wait.

I actually wanted to submit some requests too, but seeing as how much you've got now, I guess I'll just wait. ^^;;

Could someone please help me figure out how to convert the .ape files to mp3 files? I got a converter that converted the .ape files to wav files. But when i try to convert wav to mp3, i get a message that the file is copy protected..

It also converted into one large wav file, can this be seperated into individual tracks?

Download foobar2000, drop file.ape.UTF8.cue in there, select all tracks, right click, convert.

But why download it in the first place if you wanna convert it to MP3s? :/

It's the only format that FFT A2 is in on the internet right now. Besides Lossless sound files make great sounding mp3 files at 320kbps. thanks!

Downloaded it twice, successfully unrared it with winrar and played it with foobar2000.
And just for example; when the first song reaches 0:27 I get the error message:

Hm...I'm not sure if that was a solution to my problem or that you agree that the first and the second file is damaged...(the third one is fine for me as well).
Another thing...When I try to unrar the FF x-2 OST I get the error message
"This file is either in unknown format or damaged".
I renamed the file to .zip or .rar but the first part of disc 1 can't extract even a single file whereas the disc 2 works for me. (downloaded the first part twice)

About Chrono Cross; I can't re-up it because I wasn't particularly interested in that particular OST, therefore I don't have it. So for that one, we'll have to rely on CyberSpark I think. I apologize deeply for that one.

May as well note too again, that I only withhold the OST's I personally like, due to my limits. If I had the PC space and the bandwidth freedom, I'd download everything put up here and happily reupload it for all time, but until things on those fronts change, that concept sort of sticks. I'll hold on to particular OST's for the purpose of reupping if one of you guys would really like me to, though ^^

And, Axersia, if I may as you a mighty favor; could you re-up this anytime; Gyakuten Saiban Ochestra Album ~Gyakuten Meets Saiban~ (Phoenix Wright).

Someone notified me the links were dead and has expressed a desire for the OST, so, if you would (in your own time of course), as always, it'd be greatly appreciated =)

I'll keep an eye out for those OST's you've requested too.

Additionally, all these strange error's popping up with the rars. They work for some people, not for others. Arrrgh, what's the problem? O_O When it isn't universal, it's safe to say it's that particular persons PC or their connection stability, but hmmm, still, I don't know.

Yeah I've been having a lot of problems with some of the OSTs, especially the Final Fantasy OSTs, that I at one time didn't have. :( When I first got them from fast_eddie's thread everything was fine for the most part but just a few months later and out of nowhere I'm getting these gaps of silence and CRC errors that definitely weren't there before, this is the reason why I haven't been uploading anything recently. Unless someone else is able to re-upload some of the albums that have been found to be corrupt there's not much that I can do to fix these problems. :erm:

For any future albums that I may have I'll make sure to thoroughly inspect the files before uploading them, that's about all that I can promise for now. Oh btw there are some CRC errors too (about 3 or 4) in the Soul Calibur III OST.

I don't know any sites that would allow 700MB, but you can split the upload in multiple files with something like WinRAR (or if they're separate tracks, just spread the tracks over multiple folders manually).

As you may have seen though, we're in kind of a pickle. Our usual site (filefactory) seems to be corrupting our uploads. So I'm not really sure what site to recommend... I guess you could go with megaupload, but they're pretty fast with deleting stuff. They've already deleted the MP3 version of Sam & Max you uploaded. You don't need to worry about re-uploading though, I'll do that. So just go with whatever site you wish (except filefactory). Oh and thanks a lot for making this OST available to us! ^^

Also, congrats everyone on the 5-star rating. (about time!)

FileFront (http://uploadhosted.filefront.com/)

I think that would be Badongo (http://www.badongo.com/). They also haven't deleted anything I uploaded.

I'm not sure what the size limit is, but they split every file you upload into separate 100MB files. The reason not many people use it is because you need to either download Badongo's file joining application, or use the "copy /b" command in the command prompt (both of which people find scary, apparently). Of course, you could also just split them yourself.

Filefront definitely isn't for me. I've never successfully downloaded anything there, and when I just tried to upload something, I got a rate of 150kbps.

Badongo's speed is a bit better, but it takes me over an hour to upload a 100MB file. That just won't do, so I'm still not sure where to upload next.

Christ this took AGES to get up on Megaupload, so let's get this one out the way and I'll send the next tomorrow.

Here's a tip if you want to upload more in less time: convert the tracks to FLAC. WAVs are uncompressed and quite big. The ZIP file was 378MB, and extracted the folder was 420MB. When I converted the WAVs to FLAC, they were only 228MB. That's quite a bit of difference. If you want to convert them, I recommend foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/).

All you do is install, drop the tracks in there, select them all, right click, choose convert, select FLAC lvl 8 (highest lvl of FLAC compression), and click OK.

It's the strangest thing. I just went through decoding "Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwaves~ Music from Final Fantasy X-2" from FLAC to WAVE and the WAVE files sound perfect, not a single flaw. Then I decoded those same files back to FLAC (1.2.1b) and there were no visible errors, in fact I used the FLAC Frontend to test the files for any CRC errors and there were none, however, when I listened through the now decoded FLAC files there was a noticeable audible skip/gap in the music. Huh? I tested these files through the FLAC Frontend again and still no visible errors, it said the FLAC files were OK. Does this sound strange to anyone else?

I think that I might be able to re-upload this album but I would not like it at all if I had to listen through every album that I'm about to upload just to make sure that what the frontend is telling me is true.

I wrote a long post but lost it while looking up an English word on wikipedia... on the same page!!
Whatever, the conclusions was... FileFront is probably not corrupting the files... so unless you've got problems besides that one you should keep it.
And yes, the problems with "Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwaves" lies probably with the original files.
Me failing to unRAR Final Fantasy X-2 OST may have to do with me not understanding how to do it (if I'm the only one with that problem).
Since the "part 2" of the discs worked as they should (after I changed the filename back to zip or rar) maybe I didn't do something I was supposed to keep the continuity with the parts of the discs. Help with that one please.

Still I need help with unRARing "Final Fantasy X-2 OST" and "Final Fantasy X-2: Eternity (Memory Of Lightwaves)" needs to be reuploaded with files that aren't flawed.

Fixed the tta-thing...seems like I had an old version of Foobar2000 and could not install the plugin...

But seriously, this thread has lost it's glory...It's time to bring it back.
Start by removing the dead links, and the files you do something special to there needs to be clear instructions how to manage them (I'm thinking of something other than ape or flac files in zip/rar)
And another suggestion: let us see which albums that are more wanted, so that the nice uploaders don't spend all their time, bandwidth and disc space for an album only one or two persons wants while, well... you get the picture.
Anyone agrees? This should be doable.

To anyone that is still wanting "Final fantasy X-2 OST", "Final Fantasy X-2, Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwaves" and "Chrono Cross OST" there may be a bit of a delay due to the many computer problems that I've been having that have caused some serious damage to some of my audio and video files. I'm currently try to get these repaired/re-uploaded so that I can post the new links here.

With regards to "Final Fantasy X-2 Eternity ~Memory of the Lightwave". If anyone has been having trouble with this album then I might be able to re-upload it sooner rather then later. I've decoded all 3 tracks back to WAVE format and put them of CD. All songs play through flawlessly without any CRC errors or anything. Maybe later today or later tomorrow.

You're quite right. For starters though, I naturally assumed that anyone downloading lossless formats would know how to manage and play them, although I agree; it would be prudent to provide instructions ^^

As for dead links; I'll remove them. I typically relied on users wanting to download the OST's to tell me of their dead-ness, and I figured if no one tells me they're dead, no one wants to download that particular OST because no one's tried the links. There's not so much point in reuploading OST's just to have them sit there for 7 days un downloaded and thus deleted from the file host (well, atleast when I'm uploading them given the bandwidth limits). Though, you're right; I shall keep up with the OST's the best I can in terms of their file life.

As for request OST's, I don't at all plan on keeping them; I'll upload them, and if I don't personally like the OST and am doing it solely for a request purpose, I'm going to delete it from my HD once I know someone else has downloaded it and the files are all in proper working order. File hosting sites are being a whore, making it incredibly difficult to upload things with a feeling of security. It sucks the chronic xD

As for OST's them selves and the appearance of new ones; I'm trying to get them, but the last week it's been atrocious. I've just been unlucky in that regard, and just have to keeeeep waaaaiiiting.

Oh, and I've found the Dark Chronicle Premium arrange upon searching 'Dark Cloud', although I have to queue it and again, just wait. That's if you want it ^^

Hadn't set it to public yet. You should be able to download it now. The upload speed sucked. Not sure about the download speed... You tell me.

WV and FLAC play in foobar2000 natively, and TTA needs a plugin (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tta/ttaplugin-foobar-2.4.2.zip?download).

Most of my non-FLAC uploads are actually single files, which you can play as separate tracks by dropping the cuesheet in foobar2000. Might want to add that to the first post too.

I'll re-upload some of the OSTs, but probably not all. I'm surprised so much FF OSTs got deleted... It's too bad there's no way to renew your links at filefactory other than downloading the complete file.

It's definitely a bitch. I'm not sure if I remember correctly or not, but in megaupload you could just go into your account and refresh it. Not to mention it all lasted 90 days or something. Gosh I want megaupload back =(

I updated the main post with your information too ^^ Thank you! And this Gyakuten album is downloading at 10kbps hahahaha xD

Hey Death Wish. I can provide assistance for other Mac users such as myself.

You can add to the first post that if you use a Mac, download the program called "xACT" here: http://tc.versiontracker.com/product/redir/lid/1223665/xACT162.dmg.zipxACT

Use xACT to turn the .flac file into something iTunes can use, such as .aiff (recommended) or .wav.

Final Fantasy IV Piano Collections
Final Fantasy IV Celtic Moon
Final Fantasy V Original Soundtrack
Final Fantasy V Dear Friends
Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale
Final Fantasy VI Original Sound Version
Final Fantasy VIII Original Soundtrack
Final Fantasy VIII Piano Collections

Let me offer something a little different here. I found a game called Dynasty (http://www.reflexive.com/Dynasty.html) and I really liked the music to it, so I went through the credits of the game to find out the name of the composer (Michael Ivashenko). I found his website but is was in Russian. Thanks to the many add-ons of Firefox I found something to translate the site into English and I then proceeded to contact the composer via e-mail. To my surprise he responded and eventually sent me the music to the game in FLAC lossless. He said that I could share the music with all of you, so.... :)

Oh by the way this is a short compilation, about 5 songs, it's written in a nice Chinese style, you might like it though.

Stop spamming "Yay!"s and "Wohoo", it makes the thread less compact and therefore it gets harder to find relevant posts. Yup, that's exactly how it went. As a result I started to e-mail other composes who had not formerly released their music as an official soundtrack. This included music written for TV shows and other video game music compilations. Sometimes though it's not always easy because the of companies that hold the rights to that music even though the composer may be willing to share their work.

I've been trying to get in contact with the studio that made the F-Zero GX/AX soundtrack to see if I can get the cut-scene music that was not made available on the OST. Time for some updated translation software.

Okaaay...I have Valkyrie Profile arrange album completed, and the live Star Ocean / Valkyrie Profile concert complete, but I'm not uploading them until the 23rd of this month because I'm trying to save money and if my bandwidth ticks over its limit then I'll have to pay more and it's already incredibly expensive.

After I upload those, though, I must report with mighty regret that I can no longer contribute. Without me, this thread is still great; we've already managed to spread a good few valuable OST's around, and this place is pretty fantastic.

The following problems I face though are thus, and they're becoming all the more apparent to me the longer I try to maintain this thread. The following isn't me complaining to you; it's me admitting that I underestimated how it'd effect my routines, my time, and so forth. I know no ones making me fulfill requests but myself, and that I offered. I know that no ones forcing or expecting me to do anything, so don't at all interpret this as me 'blaming' any of you or saying that this is your fault, as it is my own solely. I merely wish to explain because I feel I should explain.

Firstly, my bandwidth limits. It goes way, way too fast. I can barely make 30 gb last two weeks with my family hammering it down to nothing, and every 5 gb over that limit I'm hammered another ten dollars, which is increasingly frustrating considering that there are many things I want to download for myself, and many things I want to download for you guys and in turn upload for you guys. I thought I'd be able to manage but it knocks roughly 1.6GB off my limit to download and upload a decent two disc OST. Possible re-uploads due to link deletion can harm that further, and relying on Axersia for mirrors forever isn't exactly fair, considering we all have lives, and considering it's not anyones responsibility to maintain my OST's but myself. That isn't the biggest issue, but if I managed to fulfill everyone's requests in bulk as they probably wish I could, then I'd be 10 GB out in a few days with ease, and with everyone else in my family relentlessly hammering away at it as well, it'd be gone much, much too fast. This isn't fun because I end up getting the short end of the stick in regards to stuff I've been dying to download for ages (which are on torrent), and the torrents eventually become sterile and I curse myself.

Additionally, I find myself on the PC far too much in order to accomplish the completion of these OST's. I have routines, and once again thought I could work around them, but I underestimated how time consuming it can be to wait around for these things to start downloading. Everyday I'm losing valuable time simply waiting for an OST to start, when I could be using the time to practice my guitar and study, both things being of paramount importance to me. I can't leave the PC and do something else while I wait because around here the rule is, if you get off, you're finished on the thing. I've wasted a tonne of perfectly usable weeks waiting for OST's which never start. You guys know, I hardly ever upload anything new because the process is so damn slow and dependant on unpredictable factors. Due to this, I feel like an inefficient contributor and the thread's sort of dumbing down. Again, I underestimated and thought this would be way easier.

Lastly, and this point pretty much make the first two utterly pale in comparison, and is actually what has forced me to come out with this; I've recently gotten a job, so my morning computer hours are eradicated, as I must rise early and depart immediately. I won't be able to download P2P style because I won't be home during the time frame in which internet traffic is low and my ISP allows me to do it. It only allows me to DL from P2P in the hours between 2am and 4pm. I'll be in bed by 11pm, and up at about 8am, and will have to leave immediately, getting home at around 4, right when the internet traffic boosts cause it's a 'peak time'. I officially have no practical time for VGM downloads at all, except during the weekends and a day or two I may have off a week depending on the situation at work. And on those free days, I'll desperately want to dedicate the time to myself and my goals, as is understandable.

Basically, at the end of the day, I feel that based on the above, I can't practically maintain this thread in terms of me contributing and fulfilling requests. I can come and sort out new VGM uploads and everything, but any uploads from myself will be incredibly scarce starting next week given work starting. If only I had infinite bandwidth and no 'specific' hours in which I could download...then I'd just let it burn all night and everything would be fine. But that isn't the case, and all of these things are rebounding back on me and yeah...what else can I say guys? O_O

I know some of you guys will be disappointed probably, considering that I did promise you I'd eventually get you these OST's you've really been looking forward to. I might be able to contribute something new every once in a blue moon, but I doubt at that stage that anyone will really care.

What I do recommend that some of you guys here do is get the P2P prog 'DC++' (http://optusnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/dcplusplus/DCPlusPlus-0.699.exe). It's what I use to get all the OST's I do. I HIGHLY recommend you do this. I'm posting a picture tutorial for anyone who wants to use it, because if you want the OST's you ask of me, DC++ is the best way to search for them. Especially you, CyberSpark. Certain users have alot of brilliant lossless material. One user in particular is 'Ultracain'. He's got almost everything Final Fantasy in FLAC. I've been waiting on him to come back for ages.

Anyway, here's the picture tutorial to DC++ in 8 basic, easy steps for anyone interested in getting stuff from where I get stuff >> http://www.mediafire.com/?33ihdghad1z

So my friends, I'll wait and see what you've got to say about all this.

If you're unfamiliar but curious about this soundtrack then check out the Mp3 streams here: ff7.ocremix.org (http://ff7.ocremix.org/tracks/).

This is a really good album. I just discovered it a couple months ago. I'd also HIGHLY recommend Chrono Symphonic (http://chrono.ocremix.org/) which, as the name implies, is a collection of symphonic arrangements from the Chrono games.

Btw, you can find information about and download links for these and the 7 other OCRemix albums here:

Each of the albums includes a torrent download option, and includes lossless versions of the songs (in FLAC for some games, WAV for others). The torrents are pretty active, so the complete album can be downloaded really quickly.

Sorry that I haven't been around lately but I've been kinda busy. Death Wish I wouldn't count this thread out just yet, it has plenty more steam and I'd be upset to see another lossless thread die like fast_eddie's thread.

When I'm able to get back to uploading I'll have a nice treat for all of ya, but I intend to upload it all in its own thread since it's quite a bit of music. :) I won't say what it is just yet but I'm sure many of you follow audiophiles will like it.

See ya.

Edit: I had to edit because of typos all over the place. :o

It has been a while. :) Death Wish if you're still checking in on this thread I should be uploading some music soon but I was thinking of putting it in its own thread so that it'll be easier to find; I'll provide the link to my thread in this thread and then you can do whatever you want with it. Sound good?

Before I upload anything new I'm going to try to re-upload what I've been able to re-retrieve what I've lost from my computer. First up will be Chrono Cross Original Soundtrack (FLAC + log + Cue + MD5) since it has been requested so often. Nice day all. :)

Well, what I would be happy to suggest is if you, cyberspark, simply take all the current OST links, set them up in your own thread, and cancel out this one, because I really and truly have little to no time to sort this place out anymore, which is very disappointing. Everything really got screwed when I got a job, and my weekends are spent on other things. It's not so hard to come here and check things which I do, but I think it'd do much better under more active management like yourself, and so that is why I propose that you restart this thread as mod, take all the current links, and make it yours, basically. Then I can just be a basic contributor if I ever get the time to upload some stuff. At this point I'd rather not deal with the responsibility of the thread when I can't be here nearly as often as I'd like. What do you think? I think it's a pretty good idea. I know your lossless thread probably wouldn't die at all. Curse life and work and so on xD

Question for CyberSpark.

Have you decided on a name for the thread?

CyberSpark
01-20-2008, 06:03 AM
I haven't even asked about it, whether or not I can edit or change this thread. Death Wish isn't the only one with a job (no offense intended upon anybody) but I have one as well and it keeps me from visiting here as often as I'd like, just look how far apart some of my responses are, however I think that I can come in on occasions and update any content posted and maybe do a little posting on my own.

What I'd prefer for this thread is that it be the central place to get all sorts of music (VGM Anime, maybe even movie soundtracks) in lossless, or maybe it should just stay for VGM, You can help me figure that out. If this thread were stickied and contained links to the individual posts that contained the lossless music that would be very good in my opinion.

Final name for this thread is pending but feel free to throw me some ideas.
Death Wish are you sure about this? I wouldn't want to be hijacking your thread or anything like that.

Well alright; I won't throw this thread at anyone else. I've had a think and I realize that in truth I do wish to keep it going. I was feeling abit tired out and bothered when I wrote that, but I realize that I CAN work around certain things. I just need to function with a few other reliable folk like you, CyberSpark. What would REALLY help, would be to have a reliable file hosting site. Here's a simple list of what's deterred me thus far, in order of importance;

1 - my limited bandwidth
2 - sites deleting files thus wasting my limited bandwidth
3 - job (insult to injury)

I apologize for not considering that you may be just as busy as I, Cyber ^^ I thought I'd ask you because you seemed quite positive about the threads fate and I on the other hand felt quite pessimistic. However, I just gave it some thought and I'd really like to keep it going.

It IS interesting to note that filefactory still maintains my OST's even though no ones downloaded them for ages. I'll start uploading again, but my contribution will be slow. I don't like contributing slowly when I have access to heaps of stuff but my limits require I be regulate...additionally, I'm saving to travel ^^

Anyway, that's my yarn for now. Also, interesting to note, the Destrega part 2 link now seems to be functioning. I was like 'what the hell' xD

Cool, good thing I asked. ^^ OK so first thing is to find a solution to keeping links up and running. You know I thought of something but I'm not too sure how it would work or if it will work.

There's a little program called Orb which allows one to store their music, video, pictures, ect. One thing that I think I remember mentioned somewhere in that site is that you could store music folders and even share links to that music with other, are you catching my drift. :)

Basically if a second drive or even a virtual drive could be set up which will contain the music that you wan to share you could upload the link (make anonymous also) then people could download directly from that drive without you having to use any bandwidth downloading albums and then uploading them again, at least I think that this is how it might work.

The main feature of the program is that you could load folders of music, pictures, videos and stream then to various electronic devices. I had this working on my Nintendo Wii. I was able to listen to my music as long as I had Orb installed and my computer remained on, had hi-speed (decent speed) connections on both sides and the internet channel. I just though that maybe it could work in this situation so that we wouldn't even have to bother with these silly file hosting sites.

Well maybe some of us could investigate and see how/if this will work. Here's the site where you can download orb: Orb.com (http://www.orb.com/orb/)

Sorry about this but I've been having major problems uploading this soundtrack because my computer is a piece of junk, I've tried several times to upload. Even as I was typing this comment the first time it crashed on me. It has something to do with the system RAM so I'm buying some new memory soon.

I originally had this soundtrack but when my computer crashed previously I had to re-download from a torrent. So in the meantime if you guys really want this soundtrack and you're OK with torrents then here's the link:

i decided to try one disc on that torrent, and it turns out its the same copy that i had before (i think).

there are three tracks, one on each disc, i found that cut the endings:

Disc 1: track 24 (~ ancient dragon fort)
Disc 2: track 20 (~ gale)
Disc 3: track 12 (~ into a time of darkness)

it feels like the track cuts when there is about 10 secs left or something, wich is very, very annoying.

no rush tho dude, fix your computer :D im the one rightfully suffering from my pendantry when it comes to music :D haha

anyway, if anyone else got this torrent copy and has full versions of those songs, please let me know!

Hey guys ^__^ I'm back to sort out the main post and things related.

I'm only going to upload properly ripped log+cue stuff from this day forward, by the way. I'll also sort out a tutorial for using DC++, the peer to peer program from which I attained many of my OST's. It's very helpful and you can gather a good bit of rare material from there as I have.

I haven't posted for a while because of reasons mentioned in previous posts, but I'm making sure I keep up with everything now and again.

A problems arisen with my connection though; recently, we were going through horrendous disconnection spells, namely, 120 knockouts a day. We rang the ISP to correct this, and it was corrected. However, as some kind of odd side effect to this repair, my upload speed is now painfully reduced. Previously, I could upload at 70kbps, and now it's 10kbps consistently, even though I'm still paying for the higher speed. I'm going to give them a call to rectify this garbage so I can get an OST or two through for the first time in ten years =/

Anyway guys, fear not. I'm still around, I'm just working this sort of ill service out. Thank you anyone for contributions while I've been away ^__^

Good to see you back. Some more info on the DD++ would be useful because I tried it for a little bit but I couldn't quite get it to work the way it should. A ton of awesome soundtracks were uploaded while you were gone. :D

Btw I posted a link to a torrent filled with Sonic music in lossless audio. Now it's a little difficult to post links using the Nintendo Wii so if you do a search on the forum you'll find the "Sonic Music in APE and FLAC" thread. :)

Excellent ^__^

You can't get DC++ to work right? It should be fine if you followed the instructions I posted, BUT I'll review them and see if I missed anything out, as it can be troublesome. It could have something to do with your connection settings, which, unless you've gone through all that port forwarding jazz, should be set to 'passive'.

I've got the Destrega soundtrack remade properly, and am getting Valkyrie Profile arranged back. I'm re-downloading everything in the proper log+cue format because all of a sudden I became a beserk perfectionist hahaha ^__^

Don't worry about the main post either, anyone. I removed all of it temporarily due to the fact that all the links were dead pretty much, with the exception of some stuff I'll put back up as soon as I can.

I'll return tomorrow and get sorting, as for now I must sleep ^__^

I'm currently uploading some other things, so I'll finish those first and upload Odin Sphere later (probably tomorrow).

Also, I'll be uploading it in lossless APE format, since that's the format I have it in and I don't feel like converting. So if you absolutely need to have it in FLAC, you'll have to convert it yourself.

Try using a different program to decompress. Does that work?
Usually WinRAR handles what 7-zip doesn't and vice versa. There is also PeaZip.

I found a site that has a bunch of Persona soundtracks in lossless format but I don't have the URL at this moment, later tomorrow when I get my computer back I'll try to remember to post the site, it's not in English though.

This same site just so happened to have another great soundtrack, in proper lossless format, that I was lookibg for, one classified as "extremely rare" by the game's fansite: Granado Espada Original Soundtrack Volume 1 (4-Disc). :D

LOL. That has nothing to do with your request though, I'm just happy I found it. :)

VGMdb lists two releases:

The second one isn't a reprint, it's a remaster by one of the game's sound technicians. If you've got the actual CD or even an .nfo file with the info, could you give me the catalog number?

While FLAC VGM is a novelty, I feel that with the exception of some modern soundtracks, using the FLAC format is pointless. I'm no expert here, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe most VGM that uses a sample-based "module" format (most VGM for that matter) will already use compressed audio.

Could someone explain to me the benefits of FLAC in these instances? Of course I imagine the official soundtracks of some games will be released with less-compressed audio than in the game.

Again, I don't know much about this, but it's been bugging me. If someone could clear this up I'd appreciate it.

Hi Shaun. A lot of the video game music released on official soundtrack usually use uncompressed audio; not the same compressed audio used in the game. In the case that you're ripping from a CD and you want to retain all of the data that's on the original disc, it's best to use some kind of lossless format, such as FLAC, and make sure that the data being ripped is a bit-accurate copy of the original. No less important, a CUE sheet should always be created to allow for the original layout of the disc to be reconstructed and also a log file so that the rip can be inspected for errors, that's why Exact Audio Copy is recommended, it'll do all of this when setup properly. :)

You're quite welcome. If you ever need to know more about making rips as I described above, you can check out my tutorial:
How To Rip 1:1 Copies of Audio CDs Using Exact Audio Copy (http://www.soniconthenet.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2656)

LOL. It's almost like a shameless plug, but I derive no profit form it.
