I've become crazy about this game. Narshe and the cave is so atmospheric, and I get the chills every time I enter the city, and the music is stunning. What do you think about the City of Narshe? I have the Advance version, but I've seen the FMV for the Playstation version, and it's amazing.

I have the original SNES release, PXS version and my bro has the gba version, and that town is very captivating everytime. If I had to pick the coolest town out of all the FF's, Narshe Would be it.
Narshe, FetidTwinkieWrappers ;)

Coolest part is the free Bucket-O-Health!!
Narshe reminds me some small old towns in the CA Sierras... Angels Camp, Jamestown, Sonora...

The music is very cool, and It can be used as bgm for almost any kind of RPG maker game. Narshe is also my first favorite place in FF6, just above Zozo. gotta love those insane merchants and the corpes really add a "home" feeling.

Zozo's clock code easy explanation
In the ton of Zozo head for the building where you need to set the clock. Once you are at the clock and asked for the new settings enter 6, 10, and 50. Once correctly the secret passage way will now be able to enter. Trigger the opening and enter the passageway to get Edgar’s new tool.

Final Fantasy VI is by far my favorite game!!! It has by far my favorite music out of any music I've ever heard! Narshe is great, what other towns are like it? Zulu have you beaten this game yet? How many hours are you into it? I remember a long time ago I got everybody to level 99. I beat it again in Spring 2006 and it was like 50-55 hours for me. I got all the sidequests done. I got everybody every magic except for 1-2 final ones, and my levels were very high but not super high, probably in the 60's. The game has by far my favorite ending and final battle. I give it 10/10! :)

Clock, for Edgars Chainsaw. I just thought it would be cool if someone remembered the time rite off the top of their head.
Cool music too was from Sezter/Daryl cutscene n maybe..... Cyan's castle Doma beats.
Yes, I just finished it about a week ago, and I am already on my second play-through. :D
I don't know what it is about Narshe, but it just feels so...I don't know how to describe it. It feels like Christmas to me if that makes sense. x)

What's the name of the Setzer/Daryl song you mean DiscoDan? Cyan's song was my 2nd fav song in the game after The Prelude, which is my 2nd fav song of all time. Are you the same Disco Dan who made music for Ocremix?@!!!!
How many hours did it take you Zulu? How much sidequests and levelling did you do? Yea it snows in Narshe, which is great. Do you have the soundtrack yet? :D
The story took me about 30 hours, and I've completed all of the sidequests (35 hours). I mastered all the magic, and my characters were on 81-82 when I finished the game. My party was: Sabin, Terra, Mog and Umaro.
I'm thinking about using: Edgar, Relm, Gau and Celes, this time through.

Great~!! You can get the most magic points from battles at the end of the game in one of the deserts, which is very tiny, and has some green Cactaur and something called Hoover I think. I don't remember the area. Also, someplace north of Gau's Dad's house has a forest with Tyrannosaurus Rex's and Brachiasaurases, which give you a lot of experience.
What did you think of the final battle?
What did you think of the ending?
Yep, I used "Jurassic Park" quite a lot to level up my characters with.
The final battle was a joke, but mostly because I was overlevelled, and overpowered. I pretty much sailed through the final battle. Kefka was a joke, but that was pretty much my own fault.
The ending was great, but not fantastic. It had too many lose ends concerning the characters. I didn't feel like I knew who half of them were. I still didn't know who most of them were, and perhaps, the game had too many characters to choose from for it's own good.
As for Narshe, I was a little disappointed that it didn't play a bigger role. It started out great, but it wasn't really incorporated into the story after that.

Yes, I agree.

Zulu, too bad there isn't a FF VI sequel, prequel, midquel, or spin-off! You should check out for some FF VI fan fiction.
Where can people download Final Fantasy VI fan fiction? By the way, there was a sequel to FF V, it was an anime movie, but set years later with different characters. This sequel isn't known about as much, it's out in Usa.

Sorry, i dont know the actual name of the song, n i cant remember if its the only time in the game they play that tune...But the song where they race airships and where he's waiting for her at the cliff. I know, I suck, its my fav game too.
No, i didnt do any OCremixes, they are good though.

Disco dan... HAAA!!! Used to get teased by my ganster hoodlum friends cause i didnt dress like them (flannels, work pants n sneakers). We'd go somewhere and they'd be like "Its just a house party not the disco".... The name stuck.... 10+yrs later....

It's the town where you really start off and things start happening, so whenever I go there, it always brings back memories of first playing the game. Narshe is to FF6 like Alexandria is to FF9 to me. Or Besaid in FF10 (since that's kinda where you start off in "Spira" rather than "Zanarkand".) '
I think (like most FF opening areas), it's really the music that does it for me, too.
The final battle was a joke, but mostly because I was overlevelled, and overpowered. I pretty much sailed through the final battle. Kefka was a joke, but that was pretty much my own fault.
XD Hehehe, I know what you mean... the first time I went through FF6, I completely overlevelled and overpowered my team. I realized when I was killing each teir before they could even really hit me that I was way too powerful for it to be a challenge. And then by the time I got to Kefka himself... hehe, yeah... Terra and Celes were both wearing Earring/Economizer combos, and all four players knew Ultima, so suffice it to say, it was a very, VERY anti-climactic battle... XD

The town is still stuck in my mind, starting from the Jazzy music and its iconic bassline; it just gimme the chills every time I lurk around that hopeless town. Oh, and the aesthetics plays a large role in the atmosphere too; the night, the snow, the solitude... If there's a reason why I want a Final Fantasy 6 remake for a HD console, it's just for the town.
Oh yeah... sorry to revive a thread from three years ago, but I couldn't resist to post.

I love Narshe!
Something about the snowy, miner village gets me every time! I really don't know how to explain it, but it brings a "alone" and hm..."sad" feeling to me, but at the same time, happiness -- again, I have no idea how to explain it.
Its my favorite city in FF6...and then it would go Mobliz and Figaro lol
I like Narshe too. It's among my favorite FF cities.

I also love Narshe. The beginning scene in the snow with the Magitek all the way through the cave is pretty much where my childhood began. So much nostalgia. Those long sweeping sad violins in the background...the theme...amnesia...I don't know exactly how to describe it, but there's something so special about it. What a great game!

ffVI and ffVII both had this great atmosphere to it, especially early on in the game. They were both similar in that they were about oppressed people and rebels. I think the music helped a lot.
