Thunder Force II unofficial Soundtrack (X68000) rip (dedicated to ShmupFighter)
dead link

custom cover

who don't know the Thunder Force serie yet?

the plus of this version is the "opening" with voices & the loading music of the game as a "tan tan tatata" alternative ^^.

with a Cover (Title) (the Title Screen of the game a little enhanced) as custom cover in each MP3 files + .m3u Playlist file. :)

by the way Simon, how are you getting these tracks from the X68000 games? Do you have an X68000 or are you running an emulator?

Simon B
09-24-2007, 08:23 PM
this Soundtrack is the MDX files ripped with MDXWIN by myself.all is explain here.

let me learn you something.
unfortunately i don't have a X68000 & my direct rip via the emulator are mostly rare (plus, a sound test is required).
but if you wanna listen what i can do with a direct rip on the X68000 emulator, download this file :
Undeadline (X68000) Thread 45025

the X68000 roms (image disk, .xdf files) have the music inside themselves.

some of people who know how to extract the music files as any ".MDX" files, that's those files that i used, you understand? (just look for the files over the web, not easy, a lot of this music come from japanese website xD)

then, simply read this perfect audio with MDXWIN (a japanese music playerspecialize in X68, X1, PC98, PC88, MD & SMS) or foobar2000 (you must use the appropriate driver as MDXdrv)

after i edit the track length of my MP3's (sometimes i cut & others i copy/paste for multiple loops), tag the ID3, check the volume, add the custom cover (but this still is an other thing) ^^

i hope that help you to understand how i do,

EDIT : HO Shit!!, the .m3u file don't work, i reupload the file now.
to fix it, open the m3u with notepad & copy/paste this in it :

01 - The Wind Blew All Day Long (Opening Theme).mp3
02 - Tan Tan Ta Ta Ta Tan (Game Start).mp3
03 - Knights of Legend (Stage 1A).mp3
04 - A Ray of Hope (Stage 1B).mp3
05 - Big na Okata 1 (Boss 1).mp3
06 - Exceed (Stage 2A).mp3
07 - Cruise Control (Stage 2B).mp3
08 - Big na Okata 2 (Boss 2).mp3
09 - Cloud of Dust (Stage 3A).mp3
10 - Take Strict Precautions (Stage 3B).mp3
11 - Big na Okata 3 (Boss 3).mp3
12 - Illusion (Stage 4).mp3
13 - Big na Okata 5 (Boss 4).mp3
14 - Irrevocable Dream (Stage 5).mp3
15 - Big na Okata 6 (Boss 5).mp3
16 - Mission 2 (Stage Part 1 Clear).mp3
17 - Big na Okata 4 (Continue).mp3
18 - Stage Clear.mp3
19 - Take Off One's Gloves (Ending).mp3
20 - Game Over.mp3
21 - Loading Music.mp3

Actually Simon, I prefer this one over GoronMoron's. Two loops are much better than none.

09-24-2007, 10:29 PM
cool Simon, thanks for the explanation. Now I just need to track down an X68000 emulator and some roms (I really want to play that version of Sol Feace - a youtube video of it looked so much better than the sega cd release)

Simon B
09-24-2007, 10:52 PM
upload done (again) that fix the problem of the m3u file & an invisible blow on the first track, at the beginning & the end, the silence is good i delete this fuckin'blow xD

thanks ShmupFighter, i was sure you love this soundtrack ^^
i need these files to put them on the radio soon, i do the unofficial soundtrack (my customization) at the same time :)
& i'll upload the MD soundtrack too, i'll revisited it ^^

SecretAgent : my emu is "WinX68kHighSpeed_eng" working fine with me. the roms or disk images aren't hard to find
as it said in Star Fox : "Good Luck!"

Etna

You know, I kinda felt there was a missing track. And that track is a great one too. It's all good though. Simon, if you can add it to this OST, that would be awesome.

Simon B
09-27-2007, 10:51 PM
ok, by your request, i try again to find this track,
may be i could find it in MDXonline (the MDX direct server which is "in" MDXWIN...

i revise this version soon, as you requested it in PM

Um, Simon... you missed one song... the Inner-Pyramid stage before boss 4...
But you still get a A+ from me. for the track missed i can't find it & as i already said this music is not in the soundtest of the game. i finish to believe that this track is not in this game version. (you could see 2 music for the side view, they probably alternate with side view stages...)

Etna
10-10-2007, 04:07 AM
the song you had missed (if I was stupidly being complicated) was
10 - Death Face's (Stage 4B)

...hmm, maybe I should check the rom-version and report back to you
via PM which number in the game it was? (I couldn't remember number,
long time have I yet played this game, gomen nasai.)

Simon B
10-10-2007, 10:30 AM
yes Etna, but like i said it in my last post, i think this 4B music is not in the x68k version, try it thougth

Salahmander

Thanks for the alternate link, Simon B. I didn't realize that I downloaded the (Sharp X6800) version, I guess I wasn't paying attention. I really like the (X6800) version, but I still prefer the Genesis version though...

Now, I need to download the Thunder Force II MD soundtrack...:-P

Wonderful! Excellent "remake" of its Soundtrack of Thunder Force II

I hope I have helped in the names of the tracklist:)

Oh, the Soundtrack of Thunder Force AC, "Final take a Chance" reminds more the "Knights of Legend." Are you sure that the name of the song is right?

Thanks!
