I'm new in this forum. You all did a great job with these expanded soundtracks.

YoYoBoy19, you wrote you're using DVD Isolation, but... what is it exactly ? The name of a software or just a function of a particular software ? As far as I understood, you can remove at least dialogs and some sfx. If I had that software, I'd complete my own 007 soundtracks with these cues :

DVD Isolation is just a technique where you mute the Front Right, Front Left, and Center Channels. Leaving only the Left rear and right Rear channels on. In some cases you'll get lucky and you'll hear just the music if the DVD is mastered correctly. Then I record the music with audacity.

Here is a breakdown

Front Left and Right Channels - Voices/sfx - sometimes instruments from music
Center Channel - Voices/sfx

Rear Left and Right - Music/sometimes sfx

and jakegittis I did the TSWLM Share. He just quoted what I posted to say thanks lol

I dont rip it. I just play the DVD on Media Player Classic. Change the audio settings to 5 channels. Then go to channel settings and unclick front, left, and rear channels. Then use Audacity (Music editing program) to record it.

Another method is to use DVD Audio Extractor. Great program! Make sure you select "Save each channel as a separate file". Then use Goldwave or Audacity to edit any of the tracks. Have fun!

In the last few days I've been re-sequencing a few Bond soundtracks - at the moment the list is Goldfinger, Thunderball, Live And Let Die and Licence To Kill. I'l probably be doing a couple more in the next few days, and, in 2 weeks when we get our internet speed back (I got a bit over-enthusiastic with downloading and we've been capped for this month) I'll upload them.

If you'd like to do them yourselves (it's quite enjoyable, and can de-stress you a bit - I found, anyway), there are lists of how to do some here (http://blofeldscat.livejournal.com/tag/sequencing) and here (http://www.johnbarry.org.uk/expanded.php). Don't worry, they're virus-free. The second one is the John Barry link from a couple of pages back, the first is from the mysterious "Cat"...

one is a mix of most of the action cues from arnold's then two bond scores and the other one is an edit of the TND video game score.

Thankyou skrenty for the Expanded FRWL soundtrack- by far it is the most comprehensive I've ever seen- however even this version is missing a particular music cue. It's hard to explain but it gets repeated a lot, between when Bond and Tania get off the train (just about the only music from this part of the film if I remember right) and get to the boat. It's piano -nothing else- much like what you can hear from 2:22-2:25 in 'Death of Kerim' but much slower and more methodical. The bit that really stands out is the piano doing a double note, then a descending set of four notes. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or do I just sound crazy here?

I know the one, you're not crazy. It's quite a good one. I assume you mean the music from the part starting when they get off the train, sneak under it, and he puts Tania in the back of the truck?

Yes! that's exactly the music I mean! Starts pretty much as soon as they get off the train and fades away as they start the truck journey. I've never seen this track available anywhere.

This may be of limited interest perhaps, but I've spent some time on an edit of a selection of various Quantum of Solace cues into "The Quantum Suite" and it runs 20 minutes long.

Despite criticism of the film and the score, I think there are elements in the soundtrack that - if only briefly - offer some of the best moments of the series.

Consider this edit almost a travel portmanteau of Quantum theme highlights. If you haven't already read it I urge you to take a look at filmtracks.com Quantum soundtrack review (http://www.filmtracks.com/titles/quantum_solace.html) which goes into some detail about the many themes developed by Arnold for the soundtrack that drawns on and builds upon those established in Casino Royale and makes for a richer, more satisfying listening experience even if you don't know your ostinato from your elbow (for the record, I don't either).

The only track I've kept in the edit in it's entirety is "A Night at the Opera". This is a superb and, in my opinion, hugely underated track, and the James Bond theme aside is a loving tribute by Arnold to Barry's sweeping epics like "Capsule in Space" from YOLT and Moonraker's grand "Flight into Space". It's a superb development of the Quantum Organisation theme, foreboding and overwhelming, and builds to an almost militaristic level, which as hinted in the Filmtracks review will perhaps be explored more fully in the next movie's score. I really hope so.

In terms of editing there's nothing fancy going on for my part in putting this together short of choosing the tracks themselves and a little chopping and cross-fading of parts of them at the most suitable junctures so I fully acknowledge I'm not reinventing the wheel here. That said, I did put some effort into getting the "Inside Man" and "The Dead Don't Care About Vengeance" themes together into a fuller edit to round out the piece (19:15). The reason being they are probably my favourite pieces in the score and really capture the brooding, confident drive of Bond "on mission". Again take a read of the Filmtracks review to see what I mean here - underpinning these short and easily missable parts of the score there's some terrific layering of the movie's themes going on here, that really makes you appreciate the pains Arnold went to into crafting something special. Shame they are so short and underutilised in the score, so I've done my best to redress the balance in this instance. Honourable mention goes here also for "Field Trip". Again way too short, but a delicious tribute to Barry's sixties Bond scores. Lots of fun and playful and provides a refreshing antidote to the very brutal and bitter revenge themes that dominate the score.

Something you'll also likely note on listening is that I've purposefully avoided including any action cues here (bar the odd few beats to keep things moving where appropriate). This is more for the purposes of placing a focus on the moods and themes and not overwhelming them with lots of thrashing brass. Also, due to the vengeful nature of the movies subject matter, Quantum can be a very harsh and violent listening experience. Nothing wrong with that, but buried under the darkness there's some beautifully delicate and understated pieces there, so this is my attempt to give them a little more of the oxygen they deserve and bring them into the light.

I must confess: I hate QoS. I think it's the worst Bond score. I hope in the resurrection of MGM and in the continuation of the new Bond movie. But I hope in a new compositor too.
Arnold is going down. Film after film (this is my opinion).
But your work with this suite mix is GREAT! Thankyou so much. I listen to it and I think that music doesn't follow necessarily the action on the screen. Barry and Martin are real genius in this kind of work.

It's true that "The Tanker" is missing from YoyoBoy19's TSWLM. Some other tracks are missing too : "Tragic Occurancies", "Ski Chase" (movie version), "Jaws In Pursuit" (car chase) and "Sword of Damocles" (Naomi's copter vs Bond's lotus. These three last tracks are probably missing because of the sfxs.
Some people wouldn't mind about hearing some sfxs like gunshots, motors or... birds singing on the background if we can't get rid of it. I may be wrong but I think YoyoBoy19 doesn't stand it. He also gave a wrong title with "Felix Leiter's Desert Hideout" (it's Sheik Hossen ; Felix Leiter's missing in this movie), but he did a wonderful job with this soundtrack (and his other expanded ones as well).
We have yet to remember these are "expanded" not "complete" soundtracks. Maybe someone will make its own "expanded" with tracks missing from others "expanded" and/or re-edit some cues to sound like the movies version (the movie version of YOLT's "Fight at Kobe Docks" is much shorter than in the OST, the movie version of GF's "Auric Enterprises" is quite longer...). The Criterion Laser Disc edition of Goldfinger had a music and sound effects isolated track. I'm told Criterion's Dr No and From Russia With Love have similar tracks. These are the banned LD's from the 1990s. They can be found online as DVDs if you look around.

Yes. I tried not to include any tracks with sfx. The Tanker film version is sfx ridden. Ski Chase Film version is also unobtainable. Jaws in Pursuit is sfx ridden. Also thanks for the title correction. What part of the movie does Tragic Occurrences play in?

No, the track 2 "Anya Amasova" is just the music heard in the PTS sequence when Gogol heard that the potemkin submarine is missing and ask his secratary to contact Anya. Then we see Anya in bed and the last part of this cue is the Dr. Jivago's theme on her music box/phone. I really meant the music heard in the first scene AFTER the main title starting when Gogol tells her that her lover died in Austria. The music is fading with some seagulls as we see Bond's copter landing on the submarine base in Scotland. Also missing is the intro of "Bond 77" (movie version) when the log cabin girl warns Sergei (Anya's lover) that Bond's leaving.

Rafael, thank you so much, as well as all the other contributors, for your efforts on this wonderful collection.

This may be of limited interest perhaps, but I've spent some time on an edit of a selection of various Quantum of Solace cues into "The Quantum Suite" and it runs 20 minutes long.

Despite criticism of the film and the score, I think there are elements in the soundtrack that - if only briefly - offer some of the best moments of the series.

Consider this edit almost a travel portmanteau of Quantum theme highlights. If you haven't already read it I urge you to take a look at filmtracks.com Quantum soundtrack review (http://www.filmtracks.com/titles/quantum_solace.html) which goes into some detail about the many themes developed by Arnold for the soundtrack that drawns on and builds upon those established in Casino Royale and makes for a richer, more satisfying listening experience even if you don't know your ostinato from your elbow (for the record, I don't either).

The only track I've kept in the edit in it's entirety is "A Night at the Opera". This is a superb and, in my opinion, hugely underated track, and the James Bond theme aside is a loving tribute by Arnold to Barry's sweeping epics like "Capsule in Space" from YOLT and Moonraker's grand "Flight into Space". It's a superb development of the Quantum Organisation theme, foreboding and overwhelming, and builds to an almost militaristic level, which as hinted in the Filmtracks review will perhaps be explored more fully in the next movie's score. I really hope so.

In terms of editing there's nothing fancy going on for my part in putting this together short of choosing the tracks themselves and a little chopping and cross-fading of parts of them at the most suitable junctures so I fully acknowledge I'm not reinventing the wheel here. That said, I did put some effort into getting the "Inside Man" and "The Dead Don't Care About Vengeance" themes together into a fuller edit to round out the piece (19:15). The reason being they are probably my favourite pieces in the score and really capture the brooding, confident drive of Bond "on mission". Again take a read of the Filmtracks review to see what I mean here - underpinning these short and easily missable parts of the score there's some terrific layering of the movie's themes going on here, that really makes you appreciate the pains Arnold went to into crafting something special. Shame they are so short and underutilised in the score, so I've done my best to redress the balance in this instance. Honourable mention goes here also for "Field Trip". Again way too short, but a delicious tribute to Barry's sixties Bond scores. Lots of fun and playful and provides a refreshing antidote to the very brutal and bitter revenge themes that dominate the score.

Something you'll also likely note on listening is that I've purposefully avoided including any action cues here (bar the odd few beats to keep things moving where appropriate). This is more for the purposes of placing a focus on the moods and themes and not overwhelming them with lots of thrashing brass. Also, due to the vengeful nature of the movies subject matter, Quantum can be a very harsh and violent listening experience. Nothing wrong with that, but buried under the darkness there's some beautifully delicate and understated pieces there, so this is my attempt to give them a little more of the oxygen they deserve and bring them into the light.

I've done my best with the sound quality but as it's come from the Game Boy, it's not that great to start with! My personal favourites are Hotel Marrakech and Marrakech Casino and I think the End Titles sound suspiciously like A View To A Kill. I've put the composer in as Jeff Hughes as he seems to have been the head programer and I can't find anyone else mentioned anywhere on the internet. If anyone knows better, please let me know. Hey Takehiro. It's totally awesome that you have these full 007 scores. I'm a massive Bond fan, always have been since I was a kid. I love listening to Bond scores and have all the various commercial releases, but still they're not the best because of bad sequencing or non-complete status. Mine actually may have more unreleased music. Not to attack Takhiro. But if you look at his. He has the album version of Ride to Atlantis which is 3 mins. I dont. Mine is only 37 seconds and ares run the same length. But I bet his TSWLM is better quality than mine!

So we may have lucked out with The Spy Who Loved Me. I cant wait to hear Octopussy as well.

I have a CD printer, so all my expanded scores have direct to CD printing :) And the Bond ones are no exception. They all have gunbarrel designs with the title and spine numbers printed onto them.

The Silva America release from the 1990s was an expanded release of Never Say Never Again. Unfortunately some of the tracks (eg Palmyra Escape and Final Underwater Battle)are alternates rather than the film versions. It also contains tracks that were written for the film but not actually used.

I have this release, but was on the understanding that there were tracks missing, like the ballroom dance.

I am always interested in alternate takes, but prefer them to end up on a second cd, but am always interested in hearing int actual film version.

An example of this is the the Tank ride from Goldeneye. It is different in the film to the actual CD release.

Then this is the worst bond score i've heard.

As I said it is an expanded release, not a complete one, but mostly because they used alternates for some cues rather than the film verison. Annoyingly two of those alternates are my preferred tracks (the Palmyra Escape sequence and the Final Underwater battle).

BTW, There's a re-recording of the film version of the St Petersburg Tank Chase from Goldeneye on Silva Screen's Bond Back in Action 2 album.

I belive this is the only time Connery's Bond dance in the film, but then I haven't seen it for a good few years.

How different is the American release to the UK release.

Wasn't NSNA released originally as a Japanese release back in the 80's.

Connery dances in Thunderball (of which NSNA is just a remake of) so I guess technically it is the only time Connery dances.

I'm not sure if there was an original release, although I had a tape bootleg of it (that I no longer have) in the late 1980s and I think had about a dozen tracks. That was until the Silva America Records version released in 1993. It is still relatively easily available. It has some nice tracks but does not sound like a real Bond score and really suffers from not being able to use the Bond Theme.

Ah yeah, sorry. The unreleased gunbarrels for one are obviously all from Bond Back in Action(!)

There are more scores for me to upload and all the unreleased music is NOT from BBIA. Licence to Kill, for one, is packed with new material. Same for A View to a Kill, Spy Who Loved Me and a few others. Just wait and see.

And if you find you don't like them, then by all means go somewhere else for your Bond music. Everyone else is quite happy. All Im doing is giving people a new avenue through which to get some new, remastered and clean unreleased music.

Hey everyone,

I found really large crisp photos on Amazon.com for these titles (they're only 72dpi unfortunately) and the kicker was you could only zoom in 100% on small parts, so I had to piece them together in photoshop which took several hours, but I enjoy that kind of thing.

Hello, Fellow Bondphiles (Is that right?)

Looking in on this thread was really amazing, and LOTS of great d/ls, but it has made me curious: What is the difference between "Extended" and "Expanded"?
I am curious to hear your thoughts about this, as I have followed the same rule on all of my "Special" scores:

Extended: Anything with 15-29 tracks, different than the standard release
Expanded: Anything with 30-99 tracks, different than the standard, and the extended releases.
Complete: Only those scores with every minute of music from the film, with possibly unused or alternate takes on them.

I name the file "Dr. No" (Standard release 18 tracks) or (Extended release 26 tracks), etc.

I find that if I can see how many tracks it has, it is easier to locate a specific track, or a specific version of that score.

Just my two cents

Thanks, but somehow, the 2nd and 3rd archives don't open. I open it under Archive Expander (Mac OS X) and it displays the files, but when I extract all, it says "open '[filename].r00'". I was able to extract one by one from the 3rd, but the second one seems to be corrupt.

Of course, the one thing that I would really love to know is, WHY, why, why, would you pull the rear tracks off of a DVD, in STEREO, and then create a MONO track from that?

I have seen some "Expanded" scores, some are from Bond films, that have done that. Trying to avoid any sfx is understandable, but why not just take the stereo tracks and leave them the way they were on the disc, without the talking, of course.

AND, it is really annoying when the track starts in stereo, turns to mono about halfway thru, and jumps back to stereo every 15-20 seconds. I can see that the creator of this special version has taken the actual soundtrack, ripped from the DVD, and inserted parts from the stereo CD release. Can't you understand how annoying that is?

Almost as bad is the person who cuts the song/track short at the end, cutting off the last 3-5 seconds of the song, or about 30 seconds into the track, cuts in another song, without fading out the first one, or fading from one song to the next, just a sharp CUT!

I have recently downloaded "The spy who loved me" and there were several pieces of classical Bach and Mozart music in the movie. This person had got the actual classical piece, and weaved it into the actual movie soundtrack, where the secretary was killed, and the lair was rising up from the water, etc. It would have been good just to leave the WHOLE classical piece, unedited, in it's original form, instead of cutting it short. The Bach piece was only about 2:47 seconds, and it was cut down to 1:14 on the score. I redownloaded the classical pieces, and inserted them into the soundtrack, replacing the whole track, as it was downloaded. Sounds more complete that way.

If anyone can explain, I'm all attention!

Almost as bad is the person who cuts the song/track short at the end, cutting off the last 3-5 seconds of the song, or about 30 seconds into the track, cuts in another song, without fading out the first one, or fading from one song to the next, just a sharp CUT!

I have recently downloaded "The spy who loved me" and there were several pieces of classical Bach and Mozart music in the movie. This person had got the actual classical piece, and weaved it into the actual movie soundtrack, where the secretary was killed, and the lair was rising up from the water, etc. It would have been good just to leave the WHOLE classical piece, unedited, in it's original form, instead of cutting it short. The Bach piece was only about 2:47 seconds, and it was cut down to 1:14 on the score. I redownloaded the classical pieces, and inserted them into the soundtrack, replacing the whole track, as it was downloaded. Sounds more complete that way.

If anyone can explain, I'm all attention!

Which The Spy Who Loved Me expanded did you look at? Did you look at mine? The one with 28 tracks of the movie score and then other additional tracks? First off let me start off by saying I didn't mix anything. I simply recorded the rear channels and then sent them out in stereo. I didn't mix in CD tracks and movie tracks. Because in The Spy Who Loved Me CD there is no movie stuff in there. I left tracks as they played in the movie to present a true movie score to The Spy Who Loved Me.

One track may be edited up to remove sound effects and that's it. I'm not quite sure what classical beat you're referring to that I mixed up. Also IF you really have a big problem with it. You should try it. I can tell you exactly how to do it. It's not very hard bro.

Thanks, but somehow, the 2nd and 3rd archives don't open. I open it under Archive Expander (Mac OS X) and it displays the files, but when I extract all, it says "open '[filename].r00'". I was able to extract one by one from the 3rd, but the second one seems to be corrupt.

I have never seen this record in CD form, and have long since lost the original from my collection. If anyone knows of it, or could provide a link, I would be greatly appreciative.

Not mine. Mine had no sfx in it. Sorry sir. Mine had 28 tracks of the original score with no sfx and was all the same bit rate through out. Sorry sir.

It's a little horn driven piece that plays as the helicopter spirals out of control in the pre-title sequence, and it's not part of the main action theme of the film. There's better stuff missing really, like the arrival at Zorin's chateau.

On The Spy Who Loved Me expanded soundtrack, The Tanker is apparently corrupted and won't extract. Did anyone else have this problem. I looked through all 58 pages to make sure i didn't miss a single post. Could someone post a corrected version of the track The Tanker? Sorry i forget what the track number was, i think #22.

Like I stated on there. The Tanker is just the version from the CD. So if ya have the CD. just throw in it's spot and it's the same thing. The film version of The Tanker was unobtainable unfortunately.

I am currently re-recording unreleased cues from Moonraker using my sample libraries. I am practically done with the Gunbarrel/Hijack sequence, halfway through the Gondola chase, and attacking the waterfall escape next.

Rafael, thank you so much, as well as all the other contributors, for your efforts on this wonderful collection.

This may be of limited interest perhaps, but I've spent some time on an edit of a selection of various Quantum of Solace cues into "The Quantum Suite" and it runs 20 minutes long.

Despite criticism of the film and the score, I think there are elements in the soundtrack that - if only briefly - offer some of the best moments of the series.

Consider this edit almost a travel portmanteau of Quantum theme highlights. If you haven't already read it I urge you to take a look at filmtracks.com Quantum soundtrack review (http://www.filmtracks.com/titles/quantum_solace.html) which goes into some detail about the many themes developed by Arnold for the soundtrack that drawns on and builds upon those established in Casino Royale and makes for a richer, more satisfying listening experience even if you don't know your ostinato from your elbow (for the record, I don't either).

The only track I've kept in the edit in it's entirety is "A Night at the Opera". This is a superb and, in my opinion, hugely underated track, and the James Bond theme aside is a loving tribute by Arnold to Barry's sweeping epics like "Capsule in Space" from YOLT and Moonraker's grand "Flight into Space". It's a superb development of the Quantum Organisation theme, foreboding and overwhelming, and builds to an almost militaristic level, which as hinted in the Filmtracks review will perhaps be explored more fully in the next movie's score. I really hope so.

In terms of editing there's nothing fancy going on for my part in putting this together short of choosing the tracks themselves and a little chopping and cross-fading of parts of them at the most suitable junctures so I fully acknowledge I'm not reinventing the wheel here. That said, I did put some effort into getting the "Inside Man" and "The Dead Don't Care About Vengeance" themes together into a fuller edit to round out the piece (19:15). The reason being they are probably my favourite pieces in the score and really capture the brooding, confident drive of Bond "on mission". Again take a read of the Filmtracks review to see what I mean here - underpinning these short and easily missable parts of the score there's some terrific layering of the movie's themes going on here, that really makes you appreciate the pains Arnold went to into crafting something special. Shame they are so short and underutilised in the score, so I've done my best to redress the balance in this instance. Honourable mention goes here also for "Field Trip". Again way too short, but a delicious tribute to Barry's sixties Bond scores. Lots of fun and playful and provides a refreshing antidote to the very brutal and bitter revenge themes that dominate the score.

Something you'll also likely note on listening is that I've purposefully avoided including any action cues here (bar the odd few beats to keep things moving where appropriate). This is more for the purposes of placing a focus on the moods and themes and not overwhelming them with lots of thrashing brass. Also, due to the vengeful nature of the movies subject matter, Quantum can be a very harsh and violent listening experience. Nothing wrong with that, but buried under the darkness there's some beautifully delicate and understated pieces there, so this is my attempt to give them a little more of the oxygen they deserve and bring them into the light.

Unfortunately not. I don�t remember of clipping on YKMN movie version, but this should be a possibility, since I remember that the song was very loud. Not my rip, unfortunately; I�ll see if I can fix it soon.

About the full version, I�m afraid I don�t have it either. I don�t know if it even oficially exists ;D

Anyway, someday I�ll bring this post up to speed. There�s a lot of things there that need some sort of update. But unfortunately I don�t have the time to do so, yet.

All this music have sound effects mixed on the movie, and, if you try to isolate them, you�ll lose lots of instruments. So, I decided not to rip it, and it was not intended to be a 'complete score' either

Personally, I like it. It's a pretty good game! My pet peeve is the driving levels (only cause I suck at them :p). It's not a "rush out and buy" but it's a game that's definitely worth playing and paying $59.99+ for. Just my opinion

I just got the theme song... someone uploaded it with the wrong pitch and Nicole screaches towards the last 30 seconds... then I realised all these people on YouTube just took one version and kept re-uploading it... if I hadn't checked with Machinima's video, my link wouldn't be official.... so I fixed it and u can get on the 1st page.
GoldenEye game rip will be uploaded by someone soon enough.
Blood Stone has already been ripped to this forum... and this exact thread also.

Nice edit, though it got on my nerves after a minute. The theme was good but Arnolds instrumentation of the piece is overpowering.

There was an ultimate DVD menu for TWINE i actually looked at and then made the intro and parts of the song are mainly from Come In 007 Your Time Is Up... it got a lil bit noisy but it's still one of the best versions of the Bond theme made.

It was composed even before Arnold was chosen as the composer for Tomorrow Never Dies. It has only ever been found once, on the limited release Single of "Diamonds Are Forever" in 1997. Don�t be irritated by the file name which says "...2002". Forgot to change that.

Indeed, they really spice up the theme. I discovered that I actually have the DAF single with this theme in my archive...so the rarity is confirmed. Its from 1997.
