Here's a rare one. Toshinden 2 arcade version as done by Capcom ... yes, Capcom (still developed by Takara though). One minor thing, the theme for Rungo in the arcade version is actually Sofia's 2nd theme in the PS version. Othere than that, this rip has all character themes and the end credit theme (couldn't get extras such as select and continue). Enjoy.

thank you for the upload again Sliat. My old rip was lost along with Gundam Battle Assault 2 through PC crash. So you are a life saver!

Just reviewed it, seems the Kayin File is currupted or soemthing, because it will not extract, also not to some fans, this bieng the arcade version, it lacks much of the music found in the Saturn Version.

That sucks that the Kayin track is corrupted. Fortunatly, the very same Kayin track is found on Capcom Lovers Volume 1: http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/2370/34

As for the music, well, I've always been a huge fan of old Capcom music. So to add to those who don't know what the Capcom version of Toshinden 2 sounds like, think typical Capcom audio and you have an idea.

Hehehe, I know what you mean, but since Guilty Gear games came out and Tekken 4 the quality of music has been set to a new standard. So Capcom now, with all it's beautiful music, will no longer be limiting it's lovable musical art to synthetic crap and bleeps, and actually have a good mix of that with real instruments.

In the end, actually, we're more WAAAAYYYYY overdue for a new Toshinden game. And I never had the pleasure of trying or even hearing Subaru, so I know nothing of the game.

Capcom, forget them. Everything is a Resident Evil, Onimusha, DMC clone (and Megaman NT or Zero clone). They haven't given us 2D or fighters any hopes in years. For old-school, gotta stick with SNK Playmore. Hell, even Guilty Gear will be abandonning old-schoolers (Guilty Gear 2 does NOT come across as a Guilty Gear title ... at least not yet).

It's a sad case of capcom in both music and their games. Capcom gave up on doing fighting games a few years ago, and told fans they were going take a break from it. So all they've donei n the last 6-7 years has been rereleasing or remixing 2D fighting games. They did plan on making one more 2D crossover game, basicly Street Fighter VS Guilty Gear (Or Capcom VS Sammy, they hadn't even finalized a name) but it fell through. We had a pretty embarrising release with that Capcom game with characters from some of it's past 2D fighter games with no new sprites and broken gameplay.

But thing do seem bright for 2D games including fighting games in Capcom. Capcom is now working on HD quality Street Fighter 2 rerelease (looks fantastic, much better then Guilty Gear, because the sprites are 25 times bigger then the original and several times bigger then Guilty Gear and at a better quality then GGXX. Although Capcom only showed the sprites, I'm certian the Music will finaly be overhauled into something beautiful and a tribute to the original game score (Yes, I know you must ge drooling aobut that). Also this opened up a slew of new possibilities, I'm talkign about doing the same thing with Megaman games, and if all goes well, Konami may release a new 2D castlevania for consoles in HD style.... I'm hoping for a remake of SotN/NotM.

As for Battle Arena Toshinden... as much as it pains me, the series is just about dead, not even the generic anime movie could save it. I have a lot of fond memories playing it, but I don't think there is a single company intrested in the franchise. Hell, Bloody Roar stands a better chance of becoming a good series again instead of BAR being revived...

I liked Capcom Fighting Jam ... kind of ... sort of ... not really. The idea was good, but the result left a bit of disappointment to me. Soundtrack was killer, but the AI was way to unbalanced. For example, Demitri's patterns were repetative, but he gave me more of a fight than the boss, Pyron, who just stood there and let me get perfect every time.

I'm not really interested in ANOTHER Street Fighter II. Yes, it looks nice, but in the end it's still Street Fighter II. I always joke about Ultimate Mega Hyper Super Street Fighter II Champion Turbo Rainbow Deluxe New Extra Edition, but it's true. It's STILL Street Fighter II. Is 4 that scary a number? As for the music, don't be surprised if it's just the remixed anniversary tracks again.

Now, if Darkstalkers got the HD treatment, then I'd be interested. (heh heh ... HD Raptor kills EVERYONE!!!)

Funny how Capcom can't count to 4 (well, only for fighting games), but SNK can count to 11 and beyond, eh? Then again, even with all the tweaks they do, KoF still feels like KoF. Maximum Impact, well that's just fighting done right! Capcom should try to do that if Arika ever decides to do SFEX4 ... oh, wait, did I just say 4? Never mind.

Capcom does only seem ot be interested in remixing (rehashing it's old titles) But I'm willing to give the HD a benefit of a doubt because it could become something amazing and is an actual real enhancement unlike the past ST2's which were basically speed and alternate colored outfit updates.

SNK was smart, they approached their games in an interesting way. Instead of doing an update of the past game each year and rehashing thus causing the old version to become obsolete, they made each game have exclusive characters and different modes and styles, and not to mention versions of a character that are different from another year. In that was they kept their games fresh, and the appeal of the older ones still existed.

I totally agree with you on Darkstalker, it's about bloody time they updated the graphics. Look at Capcom VS SNK 2. Morrigan's sprites are ugly because they weren't updated from the older games and were simply ported over. Also, the music deserves better treatment, they could at least use real organs, and violins in their tracks, the series deserves that treatment for the atmosphere.

Not to mention that SNK also has a different boss per new game (mostly, except Rugal was used 3 times, and even at that, really it was only once, and Omega Rugal twice). Considering the number of characters in the whole Street Fighter universe, there's no reason they couldn't have tried the same thing. Hell, almost 40 fighters in Alpha 3 (Max Double Upper, or whatever the last version was with Ingrid and the others), cut that in half and you get a good selection with rotations possible.

You think Morrigan was bad ... let's not forget the many sprites meshed together for CFJ. That's even worse. But that's why I liked SVC Chaos so much. Sure, it was an SNK game, but it gave us new sprites for Capcom (Demitri looked WAAAYYY more fearsome and intimidating than his DS sprite). Ok, bad argument due to different systems and engines, but you get my point. And I see your point for CvS. They redid Ryu and M.Bison's sprites, but not Morrigan's? Lazy.

lol ... we got waaayyy off course here.

Well, I hope Takara/Tomy would still hold the rights to publish it, while Eighting develops it.

Now, I have chosen Eighting for a reason- Because they seem to be the only ones that make fighting games nowadays, and the original developer, Tamsoft Corporation, is now considered to be a budget developer doing only majonng and shougi games for small developers.

Tamsoft have do great game, Choroq
3 is one of my favorite PSX games.

Choro Q(チョロQ) (PlayStation), 1996 - Developed by Tamsoft, published by Takara
Europe: Penny Racers (Sony Computer Entertainment, 1996)

it is the first series of Choro Q game.
Choro Q 2(チョロQ2) (PlayStation), 1997 - Developed by Tamsoft, published by Takara
Choro Q 3(チョロQ3) (PlayStation), 1998 - Developed by Tamsoft, published by Takara
