Truth be told, I'm a bit... disappointed with both Vocal Collection 02 and Master Box VI :(

Reasons:

Master Box VI
Well, I'll just bluntly say it here: the voice... they're a collection of blasphemy.

This must be because I've been listening to the M@STER version for almost a year everyday, especially Me Ga Au Toki and Kosmos, Cosmos, by Chihaya and Yukiho respectively. The difference can be heard pretty much instantly, and I can't even begin with if others were the one singing them. For some reason the difference between a M@STER and performance is so great. This didn't happen with the 1st MASTER BOX, where the real difference is in length and a bit of sound effects or background voice (like, for example, Taiyou no Jealousy). There's a bit of difference, sure, but it's not heartbreaking

Maybe partly because MASTER ARTIST additions weren't planned to be in the game, and the span between the real recording and game recording is far in between. But really, while I'm not one to complain (basically because I don't own them) I'm certain I can say they can be a whole lot better

Vocal Collection
I've never been into... um... what's the genre again? What is Virgin Load and Looking For Love's genre? Ah, whatever. Anyway, I can respect them, but Melted Snow, now this is a bit of a bad decision.

Melted Snow by itself is great. The problem is that they decided to use Melted Snow from Eternal Prism Premium and inserted a newly recorded voice in it. As expected, you can certainly hear the great difference in Chihaya's pitch and tone (for some reason Asami Imai is not very good at reproducing a masterpiece, but great at creating one).

The new recording begins at 01:06, and that's the exact time Chihaya's tone-breaking voice came in. Chihaya's "Aita" was supposed to be followed by Yukiho's "kute". The supposed Yukiho's voice can be heard again in 03:20, where the original Melted Snow kicks in.

So what did I expect? I expected that they will indeed insert a new record, but at the right time. That they shouldn't alter the original and instead insert the new record in between a pause. That way the change in tone shouldn't be too noticeable.

Aside from that few seconds where they alter the original, the full Melted Snow is great. Maybe I'll try to fiddle with it a bit and change the 01:06 part to the original again.

Umm... can someone please upload the last two tracks of Vocal Collection 01? (Track 11 and 12) somehow mine doesn't have it X( I just saw the tracklist in project-imas and realized I don't have those 2. I want to hear Miki's JUMP! :(

God, I can't believe DREAM is so epic it blew my ears off, almost the same level the first time I heard Shinku.

I ordered Best of 765+876 = !! 02 Limited Edition primarily because it has DREAM, seriously. shiny smile, Overmaster, inferno, KisS, Mahou wo Kakete, and the others are pretty much the incentive, although maybe I won't order it if it doesn't have those...

DREAM made vol. 02 way above vol.01, especially because THE Ai repeated "Arigatou" all the time I couldn't handle it =(, much more often than Otome yo Taishi wo Idake!! (and Otome yo Taishi wo Idake!! has a few words in between each repetition, THE Ai repeated it around 6-7 times in succession... I can't handle it, although I like the melody)

Yeah, the project-imas is really good but it's missing a few albums, that's why I had to ask you guys here. I didn't know about this second one though, I'll give it a try next time.

Mami's ponytail is longer, almost like Striker S Nanoha's style. Ami, however, remains the same. Now its easier to tell. Last time, you have to rely on which side they tie their hair (Ami ties on her right, Mami on her left), now that Mami has a longer ponytail, its pretty obvious. No more identity switching tricks. lol

Not fired. Apparently the cast was asked if they wanted to stay with the project and after some talks, Yukiho's voice actress decided to leave. Considering what happened before, I'm not surprised. I hear that Asakura Azumi does a good job though! And if that was her during the preview (with Makoto and Yayoi) then I can't wait to hear her properly as a solo. I wonder if they'll replace the old Yukiho recordings or keep them. ^^ I'll be cheering for the new voice.

She wasn't fired, she chose to not continue on. When the game producer decided to start IM@S2 and the 2nd Vision, they went around to each seiyuu and asked them if they wanted to continue again. Being an IM@S girl is hard work since you record a lot and do a lot of performances and publicity actions, and they've been doing it for the past 5 years already, and with IM@S2 it could be the start of a new 5 years and he wanted to make sure everyone was okay with that. When Hase-san was approached, she said that what she wanted to accomplish as a voice actress conflicted with all the time she spent on IM@S, so in order to not end up doing things half-heatedly, she respectfully declined to sign on for round 2.

She apologized to everyone, and hopes everyone will support Asakura Azumi.

well they dont need to translate the voices just the text (i would never play idolm@ster with English voices), and sadly that kind of games are not popular in this continent.

That's what Adam Sessler said about Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and they still pulled it off and released it to modest success and acclaim. Also, Sega adapted and released the Love and Berry franchise over most of the world, though it was poorly advertised outside of Japan and eventually pulled due to plagiarism by Mattel.

I can see it being a relatively easy venture to adapt at least the first game in the series, as the rights are all in the same place. VAs shouldn't be much of a problem if they don't use actors from unions.

I have that album, but sadly I don't have access to scanners, other than my office, which I don't intend to bring the art book in. So I'm unable to scan them out. >.<

Also, there's a magazine, some sorta game magazine, which featured iM@S, which I got quite some time ago. They have posters of all the current 765+961 girls, 12 in total, and a plastic piece which I can't figure what the actual use is for. =X As they are attached to the magazine, I can't bear to tear them out to even scan. I know someone who actually carefully cut them out in order to duplicate copies to paste up on the wall, but I have yet to get his copies to save digital scans yet, so pardon me and allow me some time. Meanwhile, here are hastily taken photos of the posters:

Another thing. The pictures in the artbook are used by a trading card game. Its Weiss Schwarz, and they have two sets, the original set featuring iM@S SP, and the expansion featuring iM@S Dearly Stars. I am playing the TCG for some time already, and iM@S (IM) is, and will always be, my flagship series. In fact, iM@S is my very first series in Weiss Schwarz. My collection isn't complete, but if any of you are interested, here's photos of my album. There are plenty of empty gaps, because I don't live in Japan, thus I don't have access to quite a number of event only cards.

Some interesting stuff about Weiss Schwarz's iDOLM@STER sets (IM):

1) If you know how to play WS, you will know about character cards with climax effects. In iM@S, all twelve idols (Ami's and Mami's are under one card) have their own climax effect cards. Their character cards illustration are all from their MASTER ARTIST album covers.

2) Each of the twelve climax cards are personal/image songs of each idol (again, from MASTER ARTIST albums, as S10/IM is from iM@S SP), each corresponding to their own climax effect character cards. The twelve climax cards are: Start→ Star→, Kosmos Cosmos, Futari no Kioku, Furufuru Future☆, Next Life, Flower Girl, Kiramekirari, I Want, Meisou Mind, Ippai Ippai, Mega Au Toki, and Tonari Ni. In Dearly Stars, there are three climax cards: ALIVE, Dazzling World, and Precog, all three are personal/image songs of Ai, Ryo, and Eri respectively.

3) In WS, there are plenty of character cards of the same character, but with "alternate" names, like Amami Haruka and "Postivie And Docile" Haruka are both different cards, but are still using the same Haruka character. In each series, there's always one card with the actual full name, representing the character him/herself. For iDOLM@STER, each of the "full name" character has an alternate 'special' variant art, also known as the signed card (SR), because this special cards have the character signature on it in addition to the alternate art. There are 13 signed cards (yes, Ami and Mami have their own separate signed cards), Kotori has her "765 Stamp", as we call it, and four climax cards have foiled variants. Making a total of 18 special cards. And one booster box has one of these eighteen cards. Each booster box has 20 booster packs. Go figure.

4) In WS, there's a something called a 'trait'. Each character card can up to two traits. They can be anything, from magic, to weapon, to even stuff like kimono, love, demon, book, otaku, twins, blood etc. In iDOLM@STER series, ALL of the characters have one common trait: Music. And most stronger effects in iM@S require characters with music trait, or affect only music trait characters.

5) Every idol have their own 'Change' ability. Level 0 to Level 1, Level 1 to Level 2, Level 2 to Level 3. Iori's change is from a Level 2 to another Level 2 card. Ami and Mami's change effects is pretty much changing into each other, much like swapping places with each other, not unlike how they take turns performing under the same name "Futari Ami".

6) The iDOLM@STER as a WS series is more of "buffing" abilities and effects, unlike most other series, which have plenty of effects that affect more on the opponent's side of the field than your own. iM@S is heavy on strengthening and boosting your own field rather than direct damaging your opponent or his field. Much like how idols boost people's motivation up. lol

Oh, and also, there's a photo of my WS poster of the S10/IM iM@S expansion set, iM@S Dearly Stars. Don't ask me how I got it. =X Don't have the poster for the original set though. lol

Another thing. The pictures in the artbook are used by a trading card game. Its Weiss Schwarz, and they have two sets, the original set featuring iM@S SP, and the expansion featuring iM@S Dearly Stars. I am playing the TCG for some time already, and iM@S (IM) is, and will always be, my flagship series. In fact, iM@S is my very first series in Weiss Schwarz. My collection isn't complete, but if any of you are interested, here's photos of my album. There are plenty of empty gaps, because I don't live in Japan, thus I don't have access to quite a number of event only cards.

Some interesting stuff about Weiss Schwarz's iDOLM@STER sets (IM):

1) If you know how to play WS, you will know about character cards with climax effects. In iM@S, all twelve idols (Ami's and Mami's are under one card) have their own climax effect cards. Their character cards illustration are all from their MASTER ARTIST album covers.

2) Each of the twelve climax cards are personal/image songs of each idol (again, from MASTER ARTIST albums, as S10/IM is from iM@S SP), each corresponding to their own climax effect character cards. The twelve climax cards are: Start→ Star→, Kosmos Cosmos, Futari no Kioku, Furufuru Future☆, Next Life, Flower Girl, Kiramekirari, I Want, Meisou Mind, Ippai Ippai, Mega Au Toki, and Tonari Ni. In Dearly Stars, there are three climax cards: ALIVE, Dazzling World, and Precog, all three are personal/image songs of Ai, Ryo, and Eri respectively.

3) In WS, there are plenty of character cards of the same character, but with "alternate" names, like Amami Haruka and "Postivie And Docile" Haruka are both different cards, but are still using the same Haruka character. In each series, there's always one card with the actual full name, representing the character him/herself. For iDOLM@STER, each of the "full name" character has an alternate 'special' variant art, also known as the signed card (SR), because this special cards have the character signature on it in addition to the alternate art. There are 13 signed cards (yes, Ami and Mami have their own separate signed cards), Kotori has her "765 Stamp", as we call it, and four climax cards have foiled variants. Making a total of 18 special cards. And one booster box has one of these eighteen cards. Each booster box has 20 booster packs. Go figure.

4) In WS, there's a something called a 'trait'. Each character card can up to two traits. They can be anything, from magic, to weapon, to even stuff like kimono, love, demon, book, otaku, twins, blood etc. In iDOLM@STER series, ALL of the characters have one common trait: Music. And most stronger effects in iM@S require characters with music trait, or affect only music trait characters.

5) Every idol have their own 'Change' ability. Level 0 to Level 1, Level 1 to Level 2, Level 2 to Level 3. Iori's change is from a Level 2 to another Level 2 card. Ami and Mami's change effects is pretty much changing into each other, much like swapping places with each other, not unlike how they take turns performing under the same name "Futari Ami".

6) The iDOLM@STER as a WS series is more of "buffing" abilities and effects, unlike most other series, which have plenty of effects that affect more on the opponent's side of the field than your own. iM@S is heavy on strengthening and boosting your own field rather than direct damaging your opponent or his field. Much like how idols boost people's motivation up. lol

Sadly, iM@S in WS isn't as strong as before as a neo standard type, due to the extreme powering up of most recent series, like Nanoha, Railgun, and only a week ago, Melty Blood. The only deck which can go head-to-head with all this nonsense now is a Ryo deck built. Even Ai builts, which was considered quite a fast powerhouse built when Dearly Stars was released, had fallen behind. My main deck, a Ami=Mami built, simply can't keep up, despite its high speed with decent power backing.

But, news of a iM@S2 supply set released for pre-order indicates that Bushiroad intends to continue milking the iDOLM@STER series, and so the small group of iM@S players over here are all looking forward to the new 'unmentioned' upcoming set, featuring iM@S2. I heard there's going to be a Trial Deck for iM@S2.

And following the pattern, I can pretty much guess they are going to use the idols personal songs from their MASTER ALBUM 2 FIRST SEASON albums for more climax cards. 'START!!' for Haruka, 'TRIAL DANCE' for Hibiki, 'Day of the Future' for Miki, etc. But I have no idea how they are going to squeeze Project Jupiter into this set. LOL

Just as a reminder, Makoto and Takane's MASTER ARTIST 2 -FIRST SEASON- albums are out as of today. Chihaya's will be out next week.

I liked the first trio's albums, but since Hibiki's TRIAL DANCE disappointed me a little, I'm hoping that the quality only goes up from here. And hnnng, delicious Chihaya album next week.

...There hasn't been any word yet about Ryuugukomachi and Jupiter getting FIRST SEASON albums, has there? Albums from the boys may be a little too much to hope for what with the way that Bamco is currently pretending that they don't exist to placate the male fans, but lack of new Iori and Azusa image songs would make me a sad panda.

Just listened to Takane's album, which is completely fantastic. Her image song is apparently pronounced "Kazahana", in defiance of Japanese pronunciation norms, but then they like to defy conventional pronunciation a lot. And holy depressing image song, Batman! (http://www.project-imas.com/w/Kazahana) It sounds great despite the angst, although you may want to counter this with Miki's Day of the future after listening for a while.

Gonna do Makoto's next.

I have to say it's possible, since there are 13 separate idols now (new ones being Mami, Takane and Hibiki taken into account), and the phrase THE iDOLM@STER consists of 13 letters

But still, that's a bit forced. Makoto is more likely to be i, and Mami is nothing like E, the same with Miki being R
