I've noticed that P5 hasn't been getting much love recently, and I have been curious if there are any other fans out there, and if they would be interested in getting their hands on some of their stuff (which, admittedly, can be a bit hard to get on this side of the Pacific).

Pizzicato Mania! (a.k.a. Pizzicato Five 85, when rereleased) - 1985-7. A collection from P5's very first e.p.'s, including their debut single, "The Audrey Hepburn Complex." Sasaki Mamiko on vocals.

Hey Guys! Let Me Teach You - 1991 A soundtrack to the 1991 television drama "Gakkou e Ikou." This is primarily an instrumental-only album, but features some groovy beats. "Let's Be Adult" first appears on this disk as an instrumental arrangement.

Antique '96 - 1995 A "best-of" re-release of pre-Nomiya Maki P5. The only tracks on this album that aren't on any other are a remixes of "Two Sleepy People" and "Lover's Rock."

The Sound of Music (US Release) - 1995 Like the first US album, this contains tracks from various P5 releases, slightly reedited or sung in English. "Fortune Cookie" is, I believe, the only entirely original track. There is also a lengthy remix of "Peace Music" here, and the version of "Catchy" here is different from the original (I actually prefer it).

Mon Amour Tokyo ep - 1997 Since there are two versions of this (UK release and Japanese release), I've sort of combined them in my collection. The total package contains the Album version of the title track, an English version, the 808 State Remix of "Trailer Music," the Heads Up You Slaves of Labour!Mix of "Trailer Music," as well as Dimitri's Voco Dubstrumental version of "Contact."

Happy End of the World - 1997 Another good album. They're all good! What can I say?

COZA-50228 - only new material on this are the two tracks "Lesson Part 1" and "Lesson Part 2."
COZA-50229 - A cover a remix ep. 20th Century Girl performed by the Clovers, Darlin' of Discotheque by Mieko Hirota, La Depression by Grand Prix (which is also somewhere else, I think), a remix of Let's Be Adult, and a reappearance of "Playboy Playgirl Beats."
COZA-50230 - a remix ep, featuring older work. The sound quality on one or two of the tracks isn't very good, but those remixes can be found elsewhere. Tracks only found here are Nata di Marzo Live Tour, Shock Treatment Free Soul, The Girl from Ipanema, Tout Va Bien Free Soul Edit.
COZA-50231 - more remixes. Most (all?) of these can be found on REMIXES 2000.
COZA-50232 - Older album/single tracks. REALLY terrible sound quality. Whoever transferred this from vinyl should be shot. Lovingly.

Oh god I LOVE PIZZICATO FIVE. I got a bunch of import CDs to Spain a few years ago, and discovered them pretty much by mistake in 2 times separated by 4 years over my life. I love them. Can't stress it enough.

I know what it's like to have to move one's life over to a new machine -- painful!

For some reason, when I tried archiving the whole album, WinRAR kept dying on me; going through track by track, the culprit turned out to be track fourteen. It plays with no problem or errors, but for some reason it adamantly refuses to be compressed, so I had to upload it separately.

I haven't listened to this album all the way through in a while, but this little project has prompted me to do so -- appropriate, considering the time of year!

Hello I downloaded "On Her Majesty's Request", but when I went to play it in winamp the first 19 tracks won't play... I don't know if they are corrupted or what? Anyone have any ideas? Is it maybe having problems with the Japanese character titles or something? help!

I think the problem you're having isn't a problem at all; I'm pretty sure the files that aren't working for you are the ones whose file names are preceded by an underscore, correct? Those aren't in fact the music files -- to be honest, I don't know what they are and why they're there. This particular album was ripped for me by a friend on his Apple computer, and those odd files were included in the folder made when we transfered the files over to my computer. I assume they have some purpose on Mac (perhaps IDtag information?), but they shouldn't be necessary to play the album.

In short, the album is only 19 tracks long, so only worry about the ones that DON'T begin with underscores.

I'm afraid I don't have that track, regrettably! I've been hunting down P5's own releases (well, the ones I can listen to, anyway -- I sadly don't have an LP player at my disposal!), and haven't been going after remixes of their work on collaboration/compilation albums, I'm afraid. I'll keep my eyes peeled the next time I go spelunking at a Book-Off, however!
