witch game is better metal gear, metal gear 2 or ff9. I think that metal gear 1 is the best.:D

I completed Metal Gear 1 and together with my pall MGS2.And i also completed FF9 .I loved FF9 the most because its an RPG and MGS is shorter

Obviously I liked FF9 the most. I'm not posting in any Metal Gear Solid forums or anything. But I liked them both.

But I still think it's weird trying to compare them... *L* No offence.

He,I forgot to say that you don't need to judge it on the games lenght, but on the storyline more. ya let,s do that. witch one is better if you compair these two on storyline based.

Uh.. first of all, please post things in the right forum. Secondly, I don't know if those games are comparable, but whatever.. I'm going to move this to RPGs, the mods there can decide whether to leave it open or not..

I don't even think it belongs in RPG's myself...I mean two out of three of the games aren't even an RPG...

Oh well, whatever...I'll let it live for now, but if it becomes too spammy its history...if another mod wants to close it by all means do so...

Anyway, I've never played a MG game in my life so I would have to say FF9 for me...

to me, although m.g 1 was way easier, it still beat m.g. 2......heh too bad FF9 kills them both though.....:D

I have not, and will never play metal gear solid, or other games like it. So I would have to say FF9 is better.

I beat all 3 and I think they are all very good. All had good stories and graphics, atleast for the time they each came out. But me being an RPG fanatic, would have to say Final Fantasy 9.:D

The Metal Gear's were nice, both of them...

But as my bro (Zidane) said, FF9 kills 'em both...badly...very badly..so bad they get killed, go to heaven, get kicked out, fall back to earth, then FF9 kills them again....then God has laughed enough and let's them in, because they WERE good...^^

Yeah, I'd have to say that Metal Gear Solid is the most complete gaming experience I've had in my life. It's an amazing game, with a complete "film" feel to it, as if you're interacting with the storyline itself. Final Fantasy IX isn't even the best of the FF games. (I think FF VII, though I've only played VI - IX.) Metal Gear was a great game to play, although the lifespan of the game lacks. (I'm STILL playing FF VII, and that's saying something.)

If we're talking Metal Gear NES, then FF 9 is longer, better in gameplay and kicking ass. But I don't think we are, so...

i`ve only played Metal Gear Solid, not 2. The game is simply awsome and so is FF9!! I like em both:)

There are only 2 games which get anywhere close to Final Fantasy 9... Final Fantasy 7 and Grand Theft Auto 3. GTA3 I will leave out though cus it's got nothing to do with FF.

I played MGS and was bored straight away really. As soon as you start FF you are stuck forever (not so much for FF8, I got bored of that half way through disk 2).

FF7 and FF9 are the 2 best games ever made and GTA3 is next inline. In my eyes, MGS doesn't even qualify as a good game. (Though loads of people around the world adore it, nothing against them though).

MGS 1 was over hyped, but i loved it

if we talk storylines...i'd say MGS 1 and 2. they have a fantastic script, brilliant plots, excellent voice actors.

and they are replayable, especially MGS2. on the harder settings, it wasn't like MGS1 "oh, the guard saw me, i'l hide behind this wall and they wont find me coz they are dumb"

and the plot of MGS2 twists and turns like a snake (pardon the pun ;) )

i havn't completed FF9 yet...but i was more eager to finish MGS2 than i was to play 9.

I really liked FF9, but for me MGS was just more of an experience, y'know? Because of the way the story was told and how quickly it unfolded, I was always paying attention and didn't think about anything else while I was playing. I beat it in like 2 days the first time, because I played it non-stop because I had to see what was gonna happen next. For me, MGS would probably be the bench mark for how to tell a story in a video game.

Obviosly not everyone has played MGS and FF9 but even so this is a cmpletely unfair topic. We are comparing a Tactical Espionage Game to a RPG. One game revolves our present world and our society and the other with witty characters and a fantasy story telling with a neat villian. The two storys are imcomparable and if we go to gameplay they both play out just the way their genre should be. It depends on the type of game you like I guess but if you like me and enjoy both types of games, then your screwed, I like them all.

I still think FF9 killed 'em both (twice) though....and I'll speak for my bro's, for that matter. :D

Ya'll are insane if you don't think that FFIX is the greatest! DUH! What is there to not like about that game. Its nothing but hour and hours of fun.

Then again.......the fact that I have never played either of the Metal Gear Solid games may have some affect on my decision ^_^ hehehe

MG is good, but no way does it compare to the FF series!

If FF9 didn't have that kewl Chocobo quest, i'd say MGS but that quest is soooo kewl.

MGS2 is better to me because I think FF9 was the worst FF next to 5. Sorry if you disagree, but that is the way it is, so deal with it. If you haven't played MGS1 or 2, please do, but beware that there is actually killing in the game, so don't get it if you don't like that kind of stuff. But FF9 is still godd, don't get me wrong, well worth the 80 hours I put into it infact, but like I said, get MGS.

These 2 games are very different and should not be compared but I liked Metal Gear Solid better.

Metal Gear Solid was an experience not to be forgotten; and honestly, it was more ground breaking than FF9. If you were comparing it against FF7, I might have trouble, but in my opinion, MGS is better than FF9 any day.

And Metal Gear Solid 2 simply goes above and beyond the call.
