I think FF6 is the hardest from all of the FF's I played 'till now.
(that would be; FFMQ, FF4, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9.)
What do you people think? Is it the hardest....?
And what about Kefka, I think it's the most evil villain of the FF's.
Sephi follows very closely though...

Yeah, it is pretty hard, but not the hardest. Since it took me ages to beat FF8 and 7. Kefka is evil, but i reckon Kuja is more evil but that's just my oppinion.

Final Fantasy VI is not the hardest, in my opinion. The hardest is probably Final Fantasy V, or Final Fantasy Tactics (overall, not just the end bosses). Tactics had some battles that i had to repeat multiple times (Wiegraf, in Riovanes...for you that have played tactics.) and in Final Fantasy V, Exdeath is hard when you fight him in the tree, and the final boss of the game is extremely difficult.

It was my first ff, and I played it in grade 5, what does that tell you?;) No, it's not the hardest. It's the best(imo), but not hard. The hardest for me was ff8. It took me a while to get used to the junctions and everything. At least ff6 wasn't using a totally different battle system. And the maps are pretty straight forward with the exception of the world maps.

Naw, with Gengi Glove, Life 3, Offering, Illumina, Ultima, the Vanish/Doom trick, and many MANY other things and the different skills, FF6 is not hard at all... If you know when to put a few levels on your chars, teh game is easy... very easy... once you know the ins and outs, its even EASIER... its semi challenging at points... but not the hardest no...

I don't think FF7 (I was between level 26-36 with sephiroth who took three hours) was hard but I do think FF8 was hard (level 46)!
Took me four hours fight to get beaten by ultemicia and then another five hours to get beaten and then after five hours (not on one day off course;)) I beated her ass. That's liberation.

I can go through FF6 and almost never die. But FF4 you have to Plan each and Every boss fight. and severals different times in the game are Down right Impossible to get throu with out Leaving and going Back to a Town to restock Supplies. where in FF6 if you Just Level Up before Moving on You can accomplish what ever you are trying to do. Except for the Fanatics Tower that is. that is the Only Real tough Part in the whole darned game.

I thought FF6 was incredibly hard the first few hours or so, but after I leveled up it was okay I guess. However the enemies on the floating continent ware damn hard too, and so was the realy short time you were given to leave this continent. I had just about five seconds left!

After playing through FF4-8 I have to agree that FF6 is the hardest, IMO.

Keep Leveling Up!!!! At level 90 even Kefka is no Problem. remember that you have a Memory card right? just keep at it. it takes a little time. FFgames are not a race. enjoy each and evey fight. Go Back to Kefka's Tower, or the Aincient Palace. Which is in my opinion even better because the enemies are easier, and just about give as many experience points as Kefka's tower Enemies do. and if you haven't aquired all of Strago's Lores here is your next mission if you chose to accept it.::cool:

I've had like excactly the same thing. I leveled up 'till my average level was like 50 and learned the most magic with the fighters I had to count on(that would say everybody minus Relm&Umaro-hated those characters). Yesterday it was finally time to face Kefka for the first time in his final form. And....I won!!(with only Celes and her few HP, I was shakin) woohoo, I beat ff6. I was very glad because I had lots of struggles with the game and it was already the second time I played it over again. the end chinematic was cool, except for shadow's dicission, that was quite emotional. Anywayz It was good to see Terra became allright and finally happy.

FF IV (PSX version) wasn't hard at all IMO. I never died during the entire game until Zeromus kicked my butt for about five times. I'm just not into the whole levelling up thing.........I've beaten him at level 65 though.

Setzer Gabbiani
04-29-2002, 03:59 PM
I didn't think that FFVI was too hard; I beet Kefka the first time that I fought him. In fact, for the longest time, it was the only one that I beat. Now, I've beaten 4,6, and tactics, and I've almost finished 9.

Anyway, I don't think that it was too hard, if you really took the time to go through all the sub-quests, and tried to learn all the spells.

My best character right now is up to level 75, though, so I guess that made the whole ending of the game a lot easier.

IMO, the hardest are:

1. FF7
Normal enemies-none of the normal enemies were hard. I got killed a few times by the lightning birds on the way to Wutai, but only because Yuffie had nicked my materia.
Normal Bosses-Lost Number, Materia Keeper, Rapps and Godo all took me ages, and some of the others were hard too.
Super Bosses-very hard
Final Boss-He was easy

2. FF8
Normal enemies-the Ruby Dragons were hard and the Malboros were virtually impossible. Apart from that they were easy.
Super Bosses-Omega was very hard, and Ultima wasnt exactly cake either.
Normal Bosses-only one of them gave me any real trouble but I wont say which one because it'll make me sound really crap.
Final Boss-the hardest out of the FF's ive played

3. FF6
Normal Enemies-none of them are a problem
Normal Bosses-Only a few of them were hard
Super Bosses-There weren't any
Final Boss-havn't fought him yet, but from what ive heard hes easy

4. FF9
Normal enemies-the only remotely hard ones are the ones in Memoria
Normal Bosses-they were all defeated in 1 or 2 tries except for Tantarian, who took 3.
Super Bosses-Ozma was the only real challenge, he took me ages. And Hades? I dont even know why people call him a superboss.
Final Boss-A little harder than Sephiroth, but still easy.

You know I said that Ultimecia was the hardest Final Boss out of the FF's ive played? Well, ive just completed FF6, and I take that back. Kefka is harder.

Now that I've played both V and VI, I must say, I actually thought V was harder. It seemed like you ran into a lot more random battles and it was just harder in general. Overall, I thought VI's bosses were harder, but other than that, I didn't think it was really too tough.

BTW, FFVIII's boss hard? You're kidding. Just totally kick her ass with Squall's Renzokuken and all of your other characters best attacks and heal with the abundant healing magic and she's history.

For those of you having trouble beating the final boss on FF6 heres my tactic: Acquire the Cursed Sheild and uncurse it by equiping it one someone, unequiping their weapon (so they don't hurt as much, being confused and all) then fight 255 of those weak enemies on the island where Celes starts on the World of Ruin.
Once that is done the sheild will bcome a Paladin Shield and teach Ultima at a rate of 1.
Teach everyone Ultima and get them to level 50 and above and Kefka will pose no problems at all.
By the way the Cursed shield is in one of the houses in Narshe, an old man gives it to you.

Hope that helps

Tokiko
06-06-2004, 09:05 AM
I didn't have the Paladin shield but I taught them all Ultima anyway... And I didn't get them to level 50 but to 99, an guess what, the final battle was almost too easy. Of course, the term "too easy" doesn't exist for me. It was pleasant.

Eh, parts of FFVI are somewhat challenging, ie the Tower of Fanatics and stuff, but it's not what I'd call a hard game. I think I was only in 5th or 6th grade the first time I beat it.

The final fight with Kefka was actually a big letdown for me. I went through all sorts of stuff to get there, and he turned out to be cake. As many times as I've beat the game though, I have yet to attempt taking down Kefka with only 3 characters. Maybe that'll make the fight a little more fun. ^^

FFV is the hardest in my opinion. Only FF released in the US that I have yet to beat. (Mystic Quest excluded).

FFVI wasn't very hard for me, I beat Kefka in 3 rounds with my characters in the high 30's/low 40's for levels. The team of Cyan, Sabin, Terra, and Celes really laid a whoopin' on poor ol' Kefka.

The only bosses that gave me a problem were the ghost train and Doomgaze. Actually if we count Intangir (probably spelled wrong) from the world of balance then FFVI is the hardest game ever since there is no way I know of to beat that beast.

Intangir is extremely easy, since you just use Vanish-Doom. I don't know if you can get your levels high enough in WoB to beat it (unless you're insane and level to 99 or something).

FF6 is not really a hard game. It's my favorite FF, but a lot of other ones were harder. If you do lots of levelling, it's not difficult at all. It won't matter what equipment or relics you have or whether you optimized your stats with espers.

The hardest FF game I've probably played is FFT or possibly 7. I could never beat the weapons :(

didnt find FFVI that hard as i used the vanish doom combination on the dinosaurs in the forest in the 2nd world. this lets you level up quickly. You can also use it on most of the bosses e.g. atma weapon (first tine) and the dragons. I definately think FFV is harder, doesnt stop FFVI from being my (close) 2nd favorate, behind VII.

6 has never been hard for me... but I think I've spent more time playin it than any other... except 1 might come very close. I love the story of 6 so much, its awesome.

When you are able to level 3 characters to 99 and take 1 per party into Kefka's tower, and kill Kefka with just 1 alive (other 2 killed intentionally after arriving)... you know you have the game down pact. Its not too hard though when you can do 9999 damage a hit with the Genji glove and Offering (8 hits).... it only takes one round for poor Kefka.

Trick to level 99 is the Dynosaur forest... With the right gear, you can get a character into their late 40's and fight alone with him/her... get the Exp. Egg and you've got one fast leveler! I usually end up with more than 4 Economizers when doing this too...

Well, shit I took Kefka out in no time with every single one of my characters casting Ultima, however I also took out Ultimicia and whatever other bosses or manifestations there were in VIII just as fast by never upgrading Squalls weapon until I got Lionheart therefore giving me a 50 percent chance of getting Lionheart limit break after casting Aura. I guess my point is it's all in how you play and no one game is harder than the next, it all depends on how much time you put into your characters.

FFVI was fun. Kefka was the easiet FF boss ever, I always beat Kefka every time I faced him and never weven equipted the best weapons. However, the rest of the game was a big challenge. I think FF4 was harder than FF6. FF6 wasn't that hard, except some battles (if you don't know any tricks). If you can make it to Kefka, in the Tower, you can beat him too. True FF6-players don't have trouble with him.
It just depends on how hard you make it yourself.
