Yeah, the link is broken. I've seen the trailer though and I'm also impressed. In a way, I hope it's similar to Ergheiz but I do not want it to incorporate every element from it. Square needs something original, and this just might be it.

I'm really hyped for this game.. Dissidia along with Crisis Core has sold me on getting a PSP. I'm just waiting for squeni to release some info if we'll getting a Dissidia bundled PSP.. if not I'll be getting the CC one..

A new trailer was released at TGS.

Still had the same footage shown in the previous trailers, which shows a bit of gameplay with Garland vs. Warrior, and Kuja vs. Zidane. The new TGS trailer milked more of Sephiroth, and this time, Squall is also revealed to be a character in the game.

Not entirely unexpected, though. The trailer showed him in FMV-style (rather than the gameplay-style Kuja and Zidane were in). That was very amusing.

I heard Firion is also part of the cast. Apparently, IGN is the only site that doesn't confirm this.

I actually don't remember Firion being in the trailer at all... I think he was and it went to flyby fast that I didn't notice, but the one that was made painfully obvious was Squall.

(I thought Squall was fighting Sephiroth, but me not being as familiar with FFII as I need to be... XD)

Maybe, but I'm sure you know it's a game that gets pretty good reviews everywhere. Be it "pro" reviews or those from "regular gamers".

These games are there because there is a demand for them, and I don't see what's the matter with that. As long as a game is fun, it's not really important if Cecil, Mario, Crash, Sonic, Samus or Boudha General are in there.

The game wouldn't sell as much, I give you that. But my point is that if the core of the game is good, then the added fan service is only a plus. Especially in a fighting game where the storyline is almost always irrelevent to the enjoyment anyways.

Now, since we don't yet know what the "core" of the game will be like exactly, talking about it is kinda pointless.

I think its kinda funny when people think fighting games are repetitive when about 90% of all video games are repetitive. If you look at the big picture the only thing that keeps games separate is a unique battle system, targeting system, or w/e and the plot. With out those its all the same. Except for MMO's and thats about it.
