Well, i was reading my OXM today and lookie what i found. Rights to a Gears of War movie sold; or bought by, i really dont know, by either way New Line Cinema now has the rights to a Gears movie. Facinating hmm? Imo i think that after a few months of crazed speculation by fans, it will go under just like halo and put on the "indefinate hold". Thoughts?

If they want to whore out a game storyline, I say go for it. It'll only prove (again) that their movies turn to shit.

Took the words right out of my mouth! :-D

I'm buying an Xbox 360 Elite soon, so I'll be able to try out GOW as soon as I buy it. Then, I'll be able to give an accurate opinion.

(The only semi-decent movie I've seen that has been based off of a game is Silent Hill...and that's saying a lot.)

Don't forget the first Mortal Kombat. Those are the only two that did a great job being a movie.

You're right, but do you recall Mortal Kombat: Annihilation?
What a pile of garbage.

Can't forget this memorable line:
Kitana: Mother! You're alive!
Sindel: Too bad you...will DIE!

The second one was interesting, but pretty much a pile of crap.

I disagree. I think Resident Evil was great. The Mortal Kombat movies had promise but it was a little cheesy for me, but Scorpion did make it great.

I thought Scorpion made it better. I wish he was in the second movie more though.

I didn't really care much for the RE movies. It all just seemed pretty much like any other zombie movie with lots of action. The music is what really made it seem that way. The game was supposed to be scary, while the movie just seemed more "THIS IS AWESOME CUZ SHIT IS BLOWING UP! HOORAY FOR MATRIX STUNTS!". Rock music is not for something that's supposed to be scary. I liked the second movie though, but it wasn't really any kind of adaptation like Mortal Kombat or Silent Hill were except for the title.

They'll probably be stupid and cast The Rock as the lead character.
