Redmond (WA) - The first sequel to a Wii game will come as a new version of the launch title Excite Truck. The second installment to the new racing series is one of the first to announce support for online multiplayer.

Up to six people will be able to compete online in real-time. This puts Excite Truck 2 in the small category of upcoming Wii online titles, currently comprised of Pokemon Battle Revolution, due out this June, this fall's Mario Strikers Charged, and the pending Super Smash Bros Brawl.

No release date has been confirmed for Excite Truck 2, however Nintendo has said that it won't be until next year before the Wii's online multiplayer platform really takes off.

EDIT: Seems like a fake actually. Sorry. >_<

Heh. That's kinda obvious. Just look at the screenies, they just got screenshots from Excite Truck 1 and added in the other player icon. Kinda simple really.

Oh! Hehehe... I actually google Excite Truck 2 to check the authenticity myself. Found some website that had screenies sent in by the frauds.

Regardless if the link was fake or not, it's highly likely that a sequel is/will be in the works fairly shortly.

Yeh. Most likely. I never really liked excite truck, not enough content. Decent game, good idea, but not worth AU$80
