Are there any tricks in this game to earn Gil quickly? Or is the only way to keep on fighting and looting??

Well one trick not really...is to ALWAYS use the steal command when fighting. Sometimes in the battlefield you see a neutral hunter. If you decide to kill em or steal you can get some gold...but they rarely appear. That one race of people with bird masks. If you go out the henne mines I think Garif..ya you will see a Garif Hunter and if you steal and are lucky you get like 1600 gold less maybe hehe...if you want to get the gil even more quickly kill things that can be finished within a hit of each of your party members an don't throw anything away. I just stole a lot and that's how you can get x2 the loot and sometimes they don't drop loot and if you stole you still got one thing...and that other skill when the hp is low. I never used that, but I don't know if it stacks on steal and that skill on a same unit. To do this continously in one area instead of moving 2 areas away or something to be able to re-steal the respawn in some places is limited so kill everything and take advantage of the respawning and by the time you ahve killed everything a X amount of times you probably will get a little bored and take a break...and then when you turn your ps2 on again you can keep doing it:D My information won't be to helpful most likely...except to steal always..

Kill Zahngans in the Ozmone Plains, if you get a good enough chain level, each one will drop 2 or 3 Quality Hide's at a time, and 99 of those sell for about 34,000 gil. Plus you get a shitload of License Points, refer to this post for a more detailed description:

as has been mentioned- stealing and poaching are the best ways to get money. Every area has a certain region that is filled with stronger monsters than the others often tucked away from the usual route you would take through the region. grinding in this region is the best way to fill your pockets with loot. Remember chains of monsters mean they drop better loot. and the thief gloves are another way of getting better loot later in the game.

Another risky strategy is try stealing from those really powerful monsters that are dotted around then run away once you have succeeded. It is a risky strategy as some of these will wipe you out in seconds if you are not lucky- always try to do this near a save point so you are not disappointed when you get slaughtered. when it works it is really worthwhile!

*edit* and I forgot- buy the grimoires as soon as you can. they are really expensive but will pay you back many times in quality loot.

I'm a little confused by your post, Claude. Just to be clear here, remember that touching a save crystal erases your chain, so you wouldn't want to "turn your ps2 on again you can keep doing it" because your chain would be obliterated.

Otherwise the strategies here are valid, with the Monographs being the most important not only for making gil, but also getting loot needed for the rare synths on the bazaar.

Well for me personally when I went on to focus solely on just gaining loot by the time I killed every respawning unit in certain areas I got bored and saved and decided to play later. If I were to not get bored then I guess I would have to find more areas, but since I do after a certain amount of time I just play again later and never have a problem to find new areas...wonder if this makes sense. Let's see...I looted in these 2 different areas only and the units would respawn only to a certain amount and after I killed the unit so many times they finally stopped coming back. By the time this happened the amount of game playing I could endure reached its limits and I would save and turn of my console. Later I could come back with all the units fully respawning...and never had to go to new places:D

Yeah, that makes sense, Claud. You're not chaining you're just killing everything in sight.

When in the stillshrine of Miriam, go to the walk of reason. Kill all of the undead creatures in this room, fleeding from the rest (about half of this room is full of undeads). go 2 zones once resp. is dead, then return, continues doing this and create a massive battle chain, you'll get loads of EXP, LP and gill if you sell the icebrands, festering flesh and the rest. I think i got around 50k gill evey 200 and about 10k-15k exp every 40 undeads. This is where i got to level 40+ the first time i got here.

another trick to get a nice big chain in the stilshrine.

Touch the pedestal without equipping the dawn shard. this gives you three zombies to fight every time. repeat until bored. this is a nice quick and easy way to build up loot and has the added advantage of never having to wait for things to re-spawn!

They dont drop loot do they? They didnt when I fought them, and I noticed that they dont give exp or lp either, unless I'm mistaken.

Claud how the heck would you know me I have no idea who you are and I haven't even seen any Claud since I left Pallet.

Also, if that doesn't work I'm guessing prostitution would.

You're not very smart, are you.

What's wrong with prostitution? Sure, it's illegal here in the states, but really, it wouldn't be that horrible a thing for Ashe or Penelo to prostitute themselves to get some extra cash, unless they're jailbait or something. Then, depending on the age of consent lays in the fictional world presented in Final Fantasy XII, I guess it could be okay. I mean, sure, they may not be the prettiest bunch of pixels ever created since they are just pixels and anybody who would want to get it on with them should see a doctor or something but anyways they should both catch a fair price I'm guessing. That Fran could probably too, but I'm not sure what the rate would be for a non-hume, probably less is my guess so you may be getting Gil quicker just by having her hunt some skins down or going to work at the local pub. I'm not sure of the sex market in Ivalice or whatever the XII world is called, but it may be possible for the male characters to also get some Gil as well. I would think that the characters could partake in such a market and could easily gain a few thousand gil rather quickly, perhaps even in the tens of thousands in a few hours depending on how quickly they work and how much they charge. In addition, having the other characters work at pubs/etc. could probably add some more cash too.

So I'm guessing you can save it and start the process and earn 1,000,000 or so gil while you sleep.

No.

1st of all, I was referring to your first line in the post before mine.

2nd of all, tell me what to do to open up sex market. It should be a laugh.

J. Peterman

I'm guessing you could just ask some of the fatter, uglier characters if they wanted to pay for sexual favors, and then build a reputation and go one from there.

I'm sorry, but I'm a nub at this, but...

Explain how you engage an NPC in sexual conversation. You seem to have done it before. Enlighten me.

Make sure they're desperate.

And it's a lot of subtext, just so you know.

Put a video of it on Youtube; I still don't comprehend how to make them desperate.

@ doggoneus

yes they do drop loot and can be quite profitable if you steal as well. I did a chain of about 150 before I got bored and collected about 80 festering flesh as well as a load of dark stones and magicite.

To add more gil, just use Poach. It really helps.

Ah ok, but its ok if you keep going back to the gate crystal to sell at mt bur, otherwise you pick up lots of that sort of loot, plus other loot and lp and exp just buy progressing through the stilshrine.

And poach is only really good later in the game, when the rare loot is more important that the exp and the lp.
