i think 9's system is the worst (crappy trance)
and 8's is the best

the all time best is Duel (tifa and zell) because if your fast you can use lods of different moves

FF6 and 9 sucks in general. 8 makes the game WAYYYYY too easy. 7 is the only good one, hence why everyone always calls it the "limit" system. u actually get to use the limit and theyre not stupidly powerful (cept for some of clouds and cids)

FF6 really didn't have limits, or they arn't very useful. FF8 had a good limit system, but with aura It made the game easy. FF7 had a cool limit system, so i'd go with that.

FF6 had despartion moves, which only came when you and character was in a desparate situation :eye: xD So, I don't think they really qualify as limits. FF8 system was good and could have been used a lot, make Hp critical and unleash a limit break feast. FF7 limits took to long to full up (on lvl 4) so I usually was under hyper all the time
FF9.... not even going to talk about that, crap o_o
So... ff8's limit system is the best in my eyes.

FF6's made limits very rare, but VERY powerful.

FF9's just sucked...trance, win battle...bam, lost your limit.

FF8- well, you could just stock up on aura stones and renzokuken/duel the enemy until they died. Very cheap (but i do love it =) )

FF7/FFX has the best system, you have to build up to your limit, and then wait to use it again.

I prefer to have a limit break bar like in ff7 so that is in a way my favourite. In ff8 I prefer to actually press buttons whilest they attack (e.g Zells duel,Squalls Renzokuken, ect). I have recently bought ff6 and I have not seen any limit breaks at all so thats the worst

I like FF7's limit system the most. If you really wated limits you could give your characters Fury status and let yourself get beaten up, and you didn't have to have any sort of set HP to get limit breaks. It did take quite a log time to learn new techniques as you had to kill lots of enemies, but it's still a great system. :)

FF9's Trance was similar to FF7's limit system, but I didn't like it at all. The aoying thing is that your Trace runs out even if you do't use the Trance commands, and many of the Trance commands required MP. Shocking. :o

I also liked FF8's system, although it did make the game far too easy at times, especially with Aura magic. Although I suppose it made levelling up easy as you could easily kill enemies with Degenerator etc.

i prefer ffx's because...

1. You can choose how you want your bar to raise up

2. The limits do JUST the right damage

3. you can use the attack on will, other than ff7's in which the limit system blocks the regular attack moves

I think FF7's was the best, 8 was just if you were in the critical area, and 9 was just plain crappy.. And FFX's kinda riminded me of 7's but 7's was the best... The classics didn't really have a limit system..

The worst limit systems are the ones that don't have limits. The best is FF7, it was fun to gain limits like that and find them.

FF8 was alright butquite annoying say like my party was down to critacal HP and up pops up the limit breaks use the all on the enemy and it still dosen't defeat it.one hit from the enemy and WHAM! your lying on the floor pushing up daises.FF7 was the best.
FF9 however was very annoying you kill the enemy and say bye bye to your very powerful trance and loook whats that coming towards us why it our good old friend Kuja "hi" your in a battle with him with no trance at all and say bye bye to him cause YOOOOOOOOOOUR DEAD!

6-I saw it rarely cuz I didnt let my HP get down that low

7-Awesome except you couldnt attack with it

8-Besides the fact Renzozuken killed anything anytime

9-I think everyone will agree it was stupid

10-The best just like 7 but you could attack and you learned them different ways for each character.

Best: FF7
Worst:.....Err.....Iunno, umm....9?

Seven because they were actually refered to as limits. I like 9's.....so umm..i just think 7's is the best.

I liked FF8's limit breaks. I think there was much more interaction like with Duel and Renzokuken (sp?)

I think that 10 has the best. Knowing when I'm going to get my limit is reassuring, unlike in 8. In 8, it was too inconsistant. Some times you got it when you were low on life, sometimes you didn't. 9 had the worst, but it compared to 8's. If someone is at low life and the battle ends, aren't you going to heal them, thus making it like 9's? 7 comes in right after 10. 10 wins since you could charge it different ways and you didn't have to use it.
6 and below don't count since they didn't really actually have limits. Once in a blue moon you'd get the ones on 6, but it was so rare that it doesn't really count.
That's just my view.

I hated the battle system in FF8 because the options r way t limited and the limit break system sucked the most it depens on some weapons wich limit u can use and u have to be almost dead to get a limit and u may die before u can use it because u don't want to heal the person cuz then u can'g use the limit anymore. The best system was in FF7 cuz there was no limit in what options u can use and the limit break system owned its a chrge meter which gets higher with any damage u recieve (not when u attack urself).

FF7's was awesome. 9 wasn't that great - grand lethal was pretty cool
