Spoilars!
Well we're in the second season where I live. He got knocked over last night by a knee in the crotch, because he was trying to get a donor heart in a rather unconventional method.
But I think House is awesome.

Surprised no one has made a thread about the end of season 5, so I'm reviving this one.
Season 5 as a whole was spectacular, as good as season 3 was and much superior to season 4, though the 2 part finale of season 4 was probably the best finale to date. The whole plot twist at the end of this season completely blindsided me too, and I think I'm usually pretty good with seeing those sorts of thing coming. Man, cannot wait for season 6. Someone else should post so I can talk to them about it.

Probably some spoilers in here
Pretty much agree on everything you've said. Parts of Season 5 got a little stale to me, though. Nothing bad, but it started getting a little slow (and I think the whole Foreman/13 thing threw me) -- I'm glad things picked up at the end.
Finale was fantastic. i thought Ep 23 was the finale and was thrilled (rooting for house/cuddy), then saw Ep 24 and was totally surprised. Obviously the part of me that is invested in the characters is disappointed, but I think that's pretty indicative of a well-done episode.

Spoilergeddon ahead.
Actually, though I described it as spectacular in the last post, I would have to agree with you about it being very stale at times this season. I'm not sure if I am only perceiving this to be the case or if there was a shift in emphasis by the makers, but the actual cases this season were utterly boring and irrelevant and just seemed to get in the way, whereas there seemed to be an increased focus on the relationships between the characters, House-Wilson at the start of it, House-Cuddy throughout, Chase-Cameron, Foreman-Thirteen and the less developed Taub-Taub's wife. But yeah, I found myself switching off during the parts where they were actually dealing with the cases but beyond that it was very strong.
Besides the staleness though, there are a few other things I would criticise. When House is on the methadone, if he was willing to hope he could persuade another hospital to set up a diagnostic team to live pain free, it seems a bit incongruous that he'd just return to having pain like he did. I know the whole pain/misery thing basically defines his character so they can't remove that element, but I don't understand why they put the methadone thing in at all. It didn't even last longer than one episode. Kutner's death too, for understandable reasons, was far, far too abrupt. I don't like that he just decided to kill himself with no explanation and when Amber appeared at the end of that episode I was expecting the remainder of the season, or at least the next episode, to be House continuing to pursue Kutner's death with Amber as his ghost sidekick or something. And in the finale when House is absolutely fine when he tells Wilson how he's been clean for 24 hours, I thought that was a bit ridiculous too, but sort of overlooked it. It's a pity the end of episode 23 was all in his head, I was delighted ;o
But still, can't wait for the new seasonnnn.

More spoilers, obviously.
Definitely agree on the cases. I found myself forgetting how they solved a few of them, or what even happened, because it totally wasn't the focus.
Agree about Kutner's death too. Part of me likes the fact that there is little-to-know explanation and it drives House crazy. But part of me can't get past the fact that it seems like an easy way to write out his character when they needed to.
End of Ep 23 I felt like cheering.
