If you mean you can't FIND them in stores, hit up eBay for the PSX ports. They are as follows:

FF Origins: I & II
FF Chronicles: IV & Chrono Trigger
FF Anthology: V & VI

III isn't going to happen unless you get a DS or download an emulator. Be warned that for the most part the PSX ports have horrible delay when entering menus

I'm not honestly sure. depends if you're willing to enter into auctions or use Buy It Now.

How does this (http://cgi.ebay.com/Final-Fantasy-Origins-Chronicles-Anthology-Playstation_W0QQitemZ150108523982QQcategoryZ62053Q QrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) auction grab ya?

It ends in just under 3 hours.

No problem.

EDIT: Yeah, they are. That's clearly labeled on the auction title and on the cases in the photo.

Yes, they are "regular" PS1 discs. PSX is another term for PS1. They are "ported" from their original systems (NES and SNES) to play on the Playstation. They will play in your PS2 no problem. They are in all essence regular Playstation games.

oh ok, so there's no such thing as a playstation final fantasy that isn't a psx port (other than 7,8,9 and tactics

I think the confusion here stems from the fact that Sony released a PS2/DVR hybrid called the PSX in Japan. Anyways, when PSX is used in it's normal sense it refers to the PSOne. I think it only refers to the DVR when they say PSXDVR or something.

Besides VII, VIII, IX and Tactics, no. All of the oldschools (1-6 as you mentioned) are ports. VII-IX and Tactics were made for the Playstation so they are just straight up Playstation games. I'm assuming you've played those already :D

EDIT: Thanks RC, I always wondered where the terminology came from. PS1 has always been PSX to me.

Btw, a word from the wise: when buying games off eBay, make sure 1. The game's region matches your console's region, or 2. Your console has a modchip(or if your console supports it, a swap disc).

Good luck!
