what do you all think? i just found it interesting that lich, tiamat, kraken, and cary were all in the game. and so many other remnants of the original game. anyone else ever pick up on all that mess or was it just this 20 year old boy who had nostalgic flash backs of the good ole days of toons, tv, and 8-bit nintendo games?

Kuja created the 4 chaos gaurdians from the crystles MEMORY so thats why I think they are there
and the crystle is the origan of everything ei. the settings of other ff's

yea and most other things are old too, like rats tail, dogas artifact.....characters like cid....stuff like that.....

also the name planets name (Gaia) is the name of a town in FF1

Yea I picked up on Gaia, and the 4 fiends from FF1. Was kinda cool to have a rematch with those dudes, but was there only 3 in FF9? they must have left 1 out.

no way dood, like i said. kraken, tiamat, cary, and lich, they were all there! i loved the whole, lets connect ALL the old final fantasy games.

what i would LOVE to see is a final fa ntasy generations game.

locke, cloud, kain, and vivi would be some of the main characters, as well as probably rikku, rinoa, and terra. in fact, ima start a new discussion then... final fantasy beyond, go check it!

STOLEN!???!!??!! who the hell would do such a thing.....actually i beat the shyte out of one of my friends friend, because he stole my memory card for ff7.....i think the memory card means more then the game, do you know what i mean??? you can always get the game back, but not 70+ hours......that does suck though....:(

And clouds sword "I remember a guy with spiky hair who carried something like this" which is impossible cuz every final fantasy is in a different world but hey! Who Cares? :D


AND, "neither cloud nor squall shall stop me" I think they made the names of the previous two heroes cloud and squall just for that... those people need a life lol :p

ps. it turrible your games wuz stolen, that happened to my friend, she wuz robbed and lost her playstation, n64, and alla the games she had :notgood:

yep. all the comments are true. but, What about in Lindlblum, Palom and Poroms Toy shop? Stiener? Even the music that plays when the Tantalus Ship docks in Alexandria at the beggining of the game...heck, even the NAME Alexandria..you know, the summoned monster Alexander? the fact that we ACTUALLY get to build levels again....True charchter classes...ECT. the list goes on into infinity. I loved it. it was a fond farwell to a grand tradition.

well hopefully they do the same with future ffs....thats part of ff being so original...awesome.....:D

What about Mount Gulug, which is also in FFI? Even the music's the same! Not to mention Garland, Garnet's real name and her real mother, which are all from the first FF too.

Then there's the Red Mages, the Four Elemental Shrines, the village of dwarves which also appear in FFIV; there's just too many references to the earlier FF's to list. Still, it's a lot of to try anyway!

Hey! i'm glad they redid up the ff1 effects and appeals to the game ^_^

Tho they really stuffed some characters.......... Like uh Kuja looks really girly. Look at his clothes play with scissors and he'll be wearin a bikini!!!!

I liked the deformed style characters just like ff7 etc. but i think in the fmv's they should be a lil taller ya reckon?

The battle music and fanfare were also a tribute to the music from FF6. Not exactly FF1, but still... FF6/3 is still one of the classics!

I turned on my FF9 CD and thought, "Hey! The beginning of the battle theme sounds just like FF6!" And the victory fanfare... a little updated, a little less MIDI-sounding, but they're exactly the same!

The other day I was playing FF5 and I went into this cave where you have to press loads of switches, I think it was called Jachol cave or something. Anyway, some of the music it played in the cave sounded exactly like Kuja's theme. I wonder if it was intentionally.

I'm sure that it was intentional, since square was trying to bring back the "feel" of the older games. Basically trying to recover from FF8 which is considered a disaster by most people, but I kinda like it.
