Thank you! :)

This rip is from the Mega Drive/Genesis with most of the missing tracks...
The recording hosted on this site is the official "Bare Knuckle III" soundtrack (ALCA-5006) published by Alfa Records in 1994, there are 9 tracks in the game that are not on the CD.

I decided to give it a different order than the original soundtrack to fit it more with the order that you would hear it (with the exception of Character Select and Game Over).

I'm glad you like it.

This is horrible. Is the music supposed to be so screechy?? Well, the music for Genesis games have never been that notable, all sound like Altered Beast...

I was hoping this would be the European version of the music, (which by the way is slower than the American and Japanese versions and not so screechy but still the same tune) but alas it isn't.

There's not much I can do about that (let alone the previous post). If anyone comes across a ROM for the European version, then I can test it for myself. Otherwise, yes the music on the Genesis can be considerably screechy to some people. Again, not much to say there.

I've got the ROM for it and my emulator (KFusion I think its called) has an option to switch to the Euro version (which basically just slows down the music).

The PAL version is in 50Hz, approx. 17% slower than the original speed with black boarders covering about 10% of the screen... for me it's just unplayable :notgood: but I can understand your nostalgia for it and I wouldn't mind having it also. However, I think it would be a better idea to rip the music first as it was meant to be...

There are 2 tracks missing from this rip to make it complete and I'm also sure it wasn't recorded using Kega Fusion, the most accurate Mega Drive/Genesis emulator available: http://www.eidolons-inn.net/tiki-index.php?page=Kega

Nevertheless, I'm thankful for this rip though it could've been a little better...

It is still possible for me to impement the remaining 2 tracks for this rip as well as modifying the artist information (Yuzo Koshiro and another artist who was involved in making the music).

To tell you the truth, I never really considered this the final version of the rip since there were some revisions that I wanted to make, but was too far into the progress of the rip.

In any case, I'll go ahead and make a few revisions and test Kega Fusion if possible.

EDIT: Guess what....it looks like I will make a European version for the rip, as well as re-recording the US version with ALL of the tracks recorded. It only took me half a minute to notice some considerable differences using KFusion and will record version 2 tommorrow (though there's no garuntee it will be finished in that same day).

ONE MORE THING: If for any reason the JP version is preffered over the US version, let me know soon. I'm currently doing the US and EU version using KFusion.

That's AWESOME! Thanks buddy, I look forward to your revision :D

The Sound Test in the US version is the same as the JP version so don't worry... (though some tracks were only really used in the JP version).

Let's make it 3 tracks that I find missing "3 time's the charm":
BGM 12 - Round 4 Scene 2 - 2nd Subway
BGM 21 - Bad Ending
BGM 35 - Round 5 - Game Over when using Easy setting??
http://soronline.classicgaming.gamespy.com/sor3_soundtrack.htm

From KFusion Readme:

"It is recommended that, if your PC is fast enough, you select "SuperHQ"
mode. The soundchips in each console are emulated much more accurately in
this mode, and sound very close to the real thing. The samplerate will also
be fixed to 44100Hz when you select this mode.

The OVERDRIVE option doubles the volume of sound output, making it sound
closer in volume to most other emulators using the MAME sound core. However
doing this means that the YM2612, and possibly other chips, are slightly
distorted by clipping. If you turn this option off, and your speakers up,
you will get a slightly cleaner sound. But no doubt most users will prefer
OVERDRIVE mode, since the difference in quality may be very subtle."

Thanks again and take your time, good luck! ;)

Don't worry, I plan to record the rest during the weekends like I did with the previous version (since that seems to be my most open time).

As for ripping SOR 1 & 2, I don't have a problem with doing those. I may make a Streets of Rage thread for that after I finish with the euro version of SOR 3.

Got anything from SOR 2?

I'm almost done with SOR 3 (EU), but I'm not sure if I will do a rip of the other 2 in backwards sequence. Other than that, it is still my plan to make a gamerip of the other 2 games nonetheless.

Due to problems with my signature, nobody can see the gamerip list I have made. If someone can provide assistance in this matter, PM me. Otherwise, I may have to make a help topic concerning this problem.

Serious Update: Due to some recording errors (which are driving me nuts right now), the Euro version of this gamerip will be held off for 3 more days until I am able to use the original media computer I do certain recordings on.

(Thanks Windows Vista....)

I should have told you guys that I switch between the 2 computers I have at home to do certain recordings. It's nearly complete though.

Weirdly though SOR1/2's music didn't differ between the Euro and US versions but SOR3 did.
But you have my gratitude for this rip.
I'll keep an eye out for your SOR1/2 rip mainly because the Expander mp3 I have currently is too short IMO. 2 minutes doesn't do it justice lol.
