The "Official" Video Game Character Rumble

After lots of advice from Prak I have decided to place these guidelines down.

– The rumble will be updated every other day. Usually anyway, if for some reason it has to be a few days longer, so be it.
-Tiebreakers in the first round will be decided by me making my vote void
-Tiebreakers from the second round on will be decided by the total percentage that both characters have won in the previous rounds

If I have missed anything check here for updates.

Also, if you do what Prak asks, and keep to it, i’ll sticky this.

1) In a tiebreaker situation, I’ll settle it with a toincoss. I promise to be truthful in the outcome.
2) RaidenEx, I will do whatever is necessary to keep the rumble up to date and effective. A sticky would be nice :).
3) This round will be open for another 24 hours or so as people still seem to be voting.

Also, you should establish an update schedule, post it, and stick to it as closely as possible. If you delay a round, it could be said (whether true or not) that you’re just doing it to give the character you voted for a chance to rally some more votes. I’ve seen a rumble brought down by that before.

I don’t know how I missed this before, but the Dynasty Warriors characters should have all been disqualified since the games are based on actual legends/history. Bit late to do anything about that now though.

A badass Star Wars character.

For those who don’t know, Kyle is a self-trained Jedi who learned to draw on both the light and dark side of the force. He’s also credited as being the one who actually stole the plans for the original Death Star.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that in addition to being a badass mofo, he’s also a career smartass. I’d say that definitely trumps a pink balloon.

Not unlike Nintendo’s character Kirby, Klonoa is described as a "Dream Traveler", who is fated to travel to various places where the state of dreams is in danger. Master Higgins is a fictional character who is the star of the Adventure Island video game series. In the series, he lives with his lovely wife, Tina, in the wilderness of Adventure Island, where things never get boring. Time and time again, he rescues her from aliens, sorcerers, witch doctors, and simply mean things in general. In the course of the series, Tina didn’t appear to be his wife from the start; she was originally described in manuals as his girlfriend, but they (apparently) got married in New Adventure Island right before the next kidnapping. Super Adventure Island 2, the last game in the series as of yet, shows them travel to their eventual honeymoon. If this thread was made during the PS1 hey-day, Crash would have taken my vote for sure – I’ve been having a blast playing the original platformers (1, 2 and 3) on my PSP lately. And Crash Team Racing > Mario Kart any day of the week.

But, alas, Naughty Dog moved onto greener pastures with the Jak series for the PS2, and left the Universal-owned Crash to slut himself out for money. Every time I walk into a game store I see a million Crash Bandicoot games that are nothing more than pathetically weak platformers with a character that looks like Crash, but with the haunted eyes of a crack-addicted prostitute.

Bek Storm, outstanding pilot and General in the Free Martian Alliance, is in reality none other than Harabec Weathers, former Imperial Knight and brother to Grand Master Caanon Weathers. Harabec possesses unmatched piloting skills and battlefield intuition, as well as incredible charisma. He has a knack for emerging from impossible situations, which has earned him the callsign ‘Phoenix’. He also carries a strong dislike of authority.

Ratchet’s robotic sidekick and sometimes co-protagonist. Clank’s escape from Chairman Drek’s robot plant on planet Quartu—and subsequent arrival on planet Veldin—catalyzes Ratchet’s adventure. Clank also has many attachments including a helipack, jetpack, and Hydropack.

Crash is a bandicoot BB, not a fox, hence the last name.

I’ve never heard of Harabec and I think that Clank is the biggest was of scrap metal the universe has ever seen. Not to mention that he doesn’t do anything but still gets on the game cover.

I don’t think the misunderstanding is with why people abstain from voting, but rather with why people post "abstain" with no reasoning behind it. While I kind of think it’s silly to post merely to let everyone know you’re not voting in the current round, if the person explains why he or she is not voting, then it’s not a big deal at all (especially in Lee’s case where he really added a lot of reason into his reason for not voting). However, if someone replies with "abstain", with no explanation, there was really no need for that person to post at all.

Sun Shang Xiang

Sun Shangxiang appears in the popular Koei video game series, Dynasty Warriors, where she is alternatively named "Sun Shang Xiang" and is armed with a pair of wind and fire wheels (erroneously referred to as chakrams). Indeed, her weapons are named the "Sol Chakrams," although it is still unknown if Sun Shangxiang historically participated in any major battles of the era or even wielded weapons outside of martial arts training. She is portrayed as a spirited and confident young woman, who cares deeply for her father and brothers.

Dante

Dante is a demon slayer who works as a mercenary, specializing in paranormal cases. He is muscular, has silver colored hair and is usually seen wearing red clothes. Dante’s arsenal usually consists of firearms and melee weapons, including the twin handguns "Ebony and Ivory". He also uses a variety of swords. As a result of his half-demon heritage, he also has supernatural powers.

Kain is a notorious anti-hero (or so it may seem until the last game) in that he is, in fact, not entirely likeable: he has a large apparent lust for power, and seeks to take all of Nosgoth for his kingdom, a quest that he largely prevails in, as evident in the game "Soul Reaver". with an obvious relish for bloodshed and brutality; though he is not stupid, and while his quite undiplomatic actions might often seem to be the rash products of his rather short and violent temper, it more often turns out that his rage is merely a tool carefully cultivated, revealing his true cunning and subtlety only to those perceptive enough to be his intellectual equals.

Two famous VG badasses, this one should be an interesting.

Nina
Tekken Series

Nina is generally known to be quite cruel and heartless and does not smile often, a contrast to Anna who is portrayed to be flirtatious and friendly. She is cold-blooded and stoic, especially since Tekken 3. This is presumed to be due to the traumatic events of Nina’s life. I spent MONTHS in a hospital bed watching people go over charts its where I learned most of my latin I wanted to know what was killing me. I had to relearn how to walk not once not twice but three times.

There is a chance it could all come back and kill me all it takes is me not noticing it and give it enough time I am in the ground. I right now have a bone infection in my right big toe I am going in tomorrow to LOSE a good chunck of that bone. So yeah I am screwed up and not mentally right for the most part. Tidus was a horribly annoying character that completely killed FFX for me, and I haven’t been a big fan of Final Fantasy since him. He is a BAD character and I hate him with a passion usually reserved only for people from Turkey.

Sorry Post-op drugs stoned me very well as well as Headaches kept me from being a semi-smart poster so I stayed offline. However in the year of 1286, Zarok, an evil wizard and former advisor to Peregrin returned from forced exile, due to his experiments concerning the dead. King Peregrin organized a grand army, and Sir Dan was selected to lead them as captain. When Zarok’s armies fired the first round of arrows, Dan was struck in the eye and died in the first charge. The battle continued on without him, and Zarok was eventually defeated. King Peregrin, determined to make Dan’s memory last, told them all a skewed version of the events of the battle, in which Dan successfully led the Peregrin’s army to victory and defeated many demons. He claimed Dan was struck in the eye (which was true) whilst doing battle with Zarok, eventually killing him with his dying breath (which was a lie). In reality, Zarok had escaped near the end of the battle. The King’s men erected a crypt for Dan, and was placed in it, where he lay for the next century, celebrated as the hero of Gallowmere.

Their final battle is near the entrance to the demon realm, where Vergil is finally defeated.

Phoenix Wright

She is one character in Soul Calibur that I just can’t play. No matter what I do, I always end up just swinging the sword around like an idiot. She is also one of the toughest characters for me to fight against, because I can never tell where she’s going to hit next. I’d like to think that I’m pretty good at Soul Calibur, but fighting, or using, Ivy just fucking annoys me.

I’ve never played Phoenix Wright, but from what I’ve seen, he points a lot. That’s awesome.

# Professor White Gunstar – Also known as Dr. Brown, he deactivated Golden Silver in the past, but is too old to do so again; instead, he helps Red and Blue as their mentor.
# Pink – A well-known bounty hunter hired to stop the progress of the Gunstars.
# Kain – The tall member of Pink’s group.
# Kotaro – The small member of Pink’s group.

Although I must admit that back in the old good MK days, Scorpion was my favorite character of them all.

Scorpion is destined to die all the time. He can’t take on Gunstar Green.
