Mass Effect is a Xbox 360 game coming out in the first half of 2007 in United States. I believe the release date might be May 18th, two weeks before Blue Dragon comes out. The game is developed by Bioware, who developed the Baldur's Gate games and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1, and many more top top games. The game is supposed to be the first of a trilogy of games. Earlier I knew about this and it seemed cool but as I found out more information my interest has risen! I was planning to get an Xbox 360 for Blue Dragon but I might be getting it for this as well. I hope to be finished with Final Fantasy XII, Rogue Galaxy, and Alundra 1 before I get to Mass Effect and Blue Dragon. Here is the url...

Who is looking forward to this game? I am researching but I am excited still! :)

I'm getting a new Zephyr Xbox 360! It's black with 120 gb hard drive and Hdmi support! I think it's coming out on May 1st! Let me pick up Mass Effect on May 18th I think it comes out, then June 1st is Blue Dragon. I'll be playing both of those games at the same time for a few months. Let me play Radical Dreamers, Xenogears and then pick up Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings and Chrono Cross! I'm excited to be taking down these games and my backlog! :)
The game reminds me of Front Mission and Starcraft! How ultimate is that? :)

It's still early to tell but it looks as if it will be one of the greatest sf games ever made.

I'm happy when it becomes the greatest game ever made. Go to masseffect.com gallery and view both gameplay movies. I think this game isn't as popular as Blue Dragon and other upcoming releases because many people don't consider it an rpg as much. It is called an Action rpg but the game could be classified maybe as Action/Adventure game or 3rd Person Shooter. I call it a 3rd Person Shooter rpg, which is what I called Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus. Please buy me Mass Effect BurningHeart58. Anyways, does it remind other people of Front Mission and Starcraft? :)

Dragonsoul, I hate to burst your bubble, but Mass Effect is the game that every 360 owner is waiting for this year. Most people don't even know about Blue Dragon (which is unfortunate, as it looks good).
BioWare is responsible for making my favourite game of all time, Knights of the Old Republic, and idea of a huge trilogy of sci-fi RPGs from them is the reason I got a 360 in the first place.
I just hope that it hits early in May, because i've got exams in mid-June :S

Raidenex, thanks for your post. I was thinking that it was the other way around. I've been talking to people who know about Blue Dragon but not Mass Effect. I'm researching this topic, and buying both games. The Xbox 360 Australia website had listed May 18th but took it down, then Microsoft denied that release date. I think that that is the release date, which was leaked, but Microsoft doesn't want to put the date out yet. June 1st is Blue Dragon, so Mass Effect won't be released on June 1st or a week before or a week later. Two weeks earlier(May 18th) seems like a good date. If it's out on June 15th that'll be alright, I'll have Blue Dragon by then.
Lost Odyssey, check out the trailer for it! :)

I downloaded the Lost Odyssey trailer yesterday. Damned if I know what the game is about, but it looks awesome.
Also, I agree with your May 18th date; there are two prequel novels being released for the game on May 14th, so it makes sense to release the game around the same time.

If Mass Effect doesn't get ported to PC I might seriously consider buying a 360.

Knowing BioWare, it will probably get ported about 2 years after the console release.
There are two PC exclusive BioWare games being developed though - Dragon Age and a secret MMO (which is rumoured to be the new Star Wars MMO :D). So lots of love for PC RPG fans.

I am eagerly waiting for EA Sports to be able to make MVP Baseball again. That would be awesome.

In Lost Odyssey the player takes control of Kaim, a man who has been sentenced to live for 1,000 years. Gameplay revolves around the many generations of which Kaim is a part of, his loves and losses and conflicts of a world nearing a "mystical industrial revolution".

Mass Effect is pretty insane! If those novels(there are two?!) are not too long maybe I'll read them. I'm hoping that this game is a combination between Front Mission and Starcraft. Does anybody else have that thought?
Mass Effect and Blue Dragon are a great rpg combo to play through this summer. Bioshock seems to be debatable whether or not it's an rpg, let me research more on it. The fall season for Xbox 360 doesn't seem to be as good. Eternal Sonata is coming out in the summer or fall season. Fable 2 is probably coming out this fall. Both companies that made those 2 games have had their previous games(Baten Kaitos, Baten Kaitos Origins, and Fable) with high reviews. I'm less excited about Eternal Sonata and Fable 2 as I am with Mass Effect and Blue Dragon. Bioshock I don't remember much about. I have a slight interest in the Oblivion stuff but I am not sure about that genre.

If you don't mind me asking, Dragonsoul, what country are you from? It just comes across that English isn't your native language.
Also, Mass Effect is most definitely not a cross between Front Mission and Starcraft. In gameplay it is most similar to BioWare's previous console RPGs, Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire.
BioShock is not a straightforward FPS, nor is it a straight forward FPS; it is the spiritual successor to the System Shock games (and other, later FPS RPGs like Deus Ex) where you are encouraged to use the environment rather than just shoot your enemies.
I highly suggest you try Oblivion, as it is easily the best 360 game available, and currently one of the best RPGs out there.
Edit: I also suggest that you don't use wiki as your main source for game information, as it is usually incomplete and occasionally unreliable. You are better off going to a game site like IGN (
http://www.ign.com) or 1up (
http://www.1up.com) and reading the previews that they have there.

I remember that in Front Mission you are highly customizable in weapons, armor, and items, like in Mass Effect. Plus Starcraft takes place in different space worlds with different races, like in Mass Effect. These two games remind me of Mass Effect. I should play those two Bioware games you mentioned. Bioware always makes great games!
I'm highly under pressure to play Oblivion. I am not sure I liked it's genre. Everybody who reads this sentence please reply, What is the name of the rpg subgenre that Oblivion belongs to? Is it "Western Style rpg?", or "PC Style"? I will atleast rent the game when I get Xbox 360 in April or May. Ok let me please go to Ign or 1up.
Raidenex, is that you in your avatar? Also, are you looking forward to Lost Odyssey?
Right now I am playing Final Fantasy XII and Rogue Galaxy. Rogue Galaxy is great, but I feel like playing something more mature(no offense to anybody!!) and more my style. I've seen the preview for Blue Dragon and I will get it but at the same time I am looking forward to the next great rpg that is aimed to my specific style/level. This specifically is LOST ODYSSEY. Basically my style right now is Front Mission, atleast that is what I am interested in at the moment. No offense to others but I am less interested in Super Paper Mario, it's like the opposite of my current style.
Raidenex, what do you think of Lost Odyssey? :)
