Two relevent things about Battery Mimics:

You won't recieve their bestiary entry until after you take down Mimic Queen, so don't freak out like I did.

You might not be able to handle it--and are probably past it--but it may be worth a shot. If you leave the last B.M. be and drain the power to 0% you can run up and down the passage farming undead for amazing gains in EXP and LP. If you have the Warmage's Monograph you will be making tons of money as well.

Of course getting the monograph takes quite a bit of time hanging out in the Estersand raising the money for it before sneaking into Rabanastre Palace. Plus a Kotetsu from the Werewolves in Giza helps.

Oh well, I just wanted to share this strategy, as it helped me immensely, early on.

Oh God, I hated the Battery Mimics. But I eventually got past them, of course. You basically just have to stay the course and try to defeat them as quickly as possible before they drain the light and the zombies and everything start coming out.

Am I the only one who didn't find the Battery Mimic's difficult?

No I also found them annoying and that was it. Espically in some of the chambers where you would see a Battery wandering around attack then it would run to a power line. Ticked me off because I would have to chase it down and kill it quickly. I only got zombies to show up the very first time then I kept the power level at about 70% or so.

I didn't find them difficult. Of course I WANTED the darkness for the undead. I was leveled enough to survive the onslaught, but if you weren't leveled I can easily see why keeping the lights on would be a top priority and, consequently, a nerve-wracking endeavor.

Naw I didn't care I was a good deal strong because of the hunts I just didn't want to deal with the undead is all too many bad memories of FFIV Dark knight Cecil getting his butt handed to him because of Undead is all. And Also I came to hate the undead in FFXII because of their Spawn rate limit and placement. Take a step spwan 3 of them fight them and a ghost or whatever pops up behind you and blinds/Annual everyone.

I know, Reva, it's nutty. Agent put it best by saying you get gangraped by undead in XII. I was talking to TidesofWar, who didn't seem to understand why Battery Mimics are so difficult to some.

Seriously! I hate the undead in FFXII. Easily the most annoying enemy to fight. They can't be killed with Phoenix Down or Life, they pop up all over the place, they put status ailments on your characters and even using healing magick on them is rough because of the casting delay.

Plus sometimes like the underlevel in Pharos or Henne mine locked section you kill an Undead and they spawn a ghost. They are Undead already why do they get a ghost as well. Also I nearly got killed on the Vopral bunny hunt I accidentally went into Feywood then when I came back and started hunting for it there were level 40 undead everywhere with no spawn Limit. And the bunny runs from you so as you chase it you trigger more undead sheesh its a pain. I have never cared too much about blind but after FFXII it is my most hated status aliment next to Sap. They use that crap WAY too often for my taste.

The most annoying undead part is when they rapidly spawn while fighting that tower in Nabreus. There's swarms of them, and they don't stop spawning...ACK it was annoying..

Battery Mimics were easy, I found that the Mimic Queen was sorta tough..then again I never used Quicks.
Game got easy after I stole Deathbringers from Ithuno :P

You mean in the Roblon area right? If so yeah I lost Fran to those Maggots a few times I had read somewhere that Roblon area Undead have a cap limit. If true it is HIGH I went through the All the Letters twice and I still got swarmed.

The undead in that area seem to spawn if you move around a lot, I found it helpful to try to keep my characters zoned in close to Roblon and not wander off.

Revaninja

Yeah but the Gambits move the Characters automaticly and cause them to set it off or you will just stand there and trigger them happened to Fran who was equipped with a bow so there was no need for her to move.

True - I found that while standing on the summit I had characters attacking with ranged weapons/magic that would wander down the path leading to the summit b/c of gambits; had to make a couple of adjustments.

That being said, I actually enjoyed the number of undead that spawn in that Roblon area in Nabreus - as long as you're well equipped and properly leveled it's a good way to get a nice chain going, and it feels like running a gauntlet - kinda cool.

Also, as Agent said, it does seem like they spawn quicker if you move around a lot, so if you're in the mood for fighting your way through a situation where you're way outnumbered that's a good spot - just run up the path circle the summit, head back down the path and repeat. Another similar place that's a bit more out of the way is back in the Stillshrine of Miriam where you fight Zeromus - if you go back there after defeating him the dead bones still appear in decent numbers all over the area.

The most annoying undead enemy encounter I had was in Pharos at Ridorana. In the area where you have to pick out the right color of waystone to get to the next floor. If you make two mistakes, you're sent to this hidden room(with a map urn) beside where you started and ALL kinds of undead enemies pop out and ambush you. And you have no choice but to fight them until the door unlocks. And did I mention that there's a lot of them? I mean A LOT! A lot enough to kill your party even though they're strong.

The undead in the Roblon area tower in Nabreus Deadlands are nothing compared to this! =(

I have no doubt - I never said that the undead in Nabreus were strong, just numerous.

Same here they weren't too bad for me but once again I was overleveled by 20 or so due to Sidequests so I really can't say.

Battery mimics are easy unless you seriously space out or can't find them, but that rarely becomes an issue because I think they're on the map.
