You don't have to call me stupid, because I'm already feeling that way right now, but I swear to God, I have tried everything that every walkthrough has said about finding this guy and I just *can't* find him. Is he supposed to spawn in the first or second area of the Necrohol? And is he right on top of the staircase or around the corner? And do two of your party members need to be KO'd or just have <20% of their health? Because I'm hearing different things from different sources and I'm a bit confused. And those blasted baknamies are driving me crazy...>.<

I feel so embarassed for asking, but if anyone could let me know what specifically they did to find him I'd be so happy. I really want to find this guy. He's literally the only mark I have left at this point in the game (I'm about to head out to Giruvegan).

TIA for any responses.

BTW, this is the very first FF I've ever played, and I'm really liking it right now. :)

If this is the mark about the guy who can't sleep go to Nabidus Necrohol have one Party memeber at about 10% health and going from Salikawood entrance go to the next zone. He should show up though you might want to clear some of the area before you lower a party memeber to that health both for room and to not accidentally call other enemies. I got him when I entered and had to fight him right next to the stair case with out crossing the zone. and that is about it good luck and happy hunting.

He is located in the northern area of the Cloister of the Highborn map. Your best bet is to just go in there and kill every monster in that part of the map. Then by yourself attack two party members to get them into the hp critical status. Immediately heal upon his arrival. It's fairly easy.

The low HP thing is the key...just pray you don't get attacked by that purple horse...I seriously got mobbed by that thing, Deathscythe, two of those giant mechanical things, Oversoul (which stole all of my freaking MP)...

I've found that mark locations change a bit according to circumstances. I've often been ambushed by a mark when hunting down rare game, or visa versa. Oversoul's are also fond of showing up when you're distracted.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if I need to go further into the Necrohol...or else just give up for now and go on ahead back to the Feywood.

Because right now, all three of my active party members are red and blinking...that's how low their HP is...I mean, they all have HPs in the 100s and 200s which should be low enough, right? You'd think, except Deathscythe still hasn't shown up yet, and so I'm just sorta pacing around the hallway in front of the first staircase. I can't go very far back down the hallway because all the baknamies I took care of not too long ago just respawned. Argh.

I didn't have this much trouble finding any of the other marks.

I appreciate all your replies, though.

This is a great site for maps (http://ffproject.net/forumwiki/index.php/FFXII).

This is the area where you'll find Deathscythe (http://ffproject.net/forumwiki/index.php/Image:Necr3.jpg), the non-highlighted part. According to the guide book he shows up in the vertical span that runs up and down the middle of this section. However, I found him in the southern-most part of this section. Four of my characters had bad HP, but only one with critical HP was in my party when I was attacked.

He always showed up for me immediately once I was in the right section and I put someone in critical, or even dead.

I found him in the northern area, and according to some guide I was using at the time that is the correct location to find him in. I don't know if he appears throughout the rest of that map or not.

Likewise - I just fought my way to the north end of Cloister of the Highborn (the part that juts far north compared to the rest of that section), defeated all the Elvorets then had Vaan attack Balthier. Balthier died but as soon as the Pheonix Down kicked in, the DeathScythe appeared and targeted him.

I found him in the part near the Golems (I was trying to get to crit HP by fighting them) and he appeared, not at all where I expected him to. Oh well, I think he generally appears anywhere in that section when you have crit or dead chars.
