*Shrugs* The first three albums under the American label are masterpieces of Metal, but the rest of their catalog is generally good to kinda "meh".

Ohh, thanks...eventually there had to be someone who likes Slayer, right?
I still like "God hates us all" the most...

I like them, I find the guitar riffs fairly enjoyable and I like Araya's delivery. Things I can't stand - the same drum part for every song if it's a Lombardo album (he is incredibly good, but not that creative) and the lyrics. Overall though they've been a big influence on my guitar playing and I respect them for sticking to their guns, even though it meant not really maturing too much over the years.

[QUOTE=Nimrook11;719848]Slayer aint´emo...Slayer is Blackened trash-QUOTE]
That is retarded.
Slayer is straight up trash metal, no balck metal over tones at all. AT ALL!
Blackened Trash bands:
Absu
Melechesh
And they pretty much suck, no melody. Kerry King 13 year old douchebaggery is annoying even more so than it is pretentious.
Listen to Kreator.

Only like their Haunting the Chapel EP and Reign In Blood, stuff like God Hates Us All has quite a commercial sound to it.

Yeah, and we all know if music can appeal to more than 5 people it sucks right?
Anyway, to you guys talking about "trash metal," it's thrash, that's right, thrash, with an h.

Slayer stopped coming out with good records after Seasons in my opinion. But they really came back with a vengence with Christ Illusion. Then again, most of the innovators came back with a vengence in 2005/06, let's just hope they can keep it that way.

Slayer is good up to South of Heaven. Everything that follows is rubbish. Christ Illusion was a step in the right direction though.
For some kickass, in your face and memorable thrash, listen to early Kreator or Morbid Saint's only album 'Spectrum Of Death'.

I like Divine Intervention well enough. It's definitely a different vibe but it's still got some great riffs, which is what it's all about for me. Regardless, Christ Illusion is still the best since Seasons in the Abyss, and one of my favorites by them honestly.

Good for you?
I don't hate that one or Diabolus In Musica like a lot of people do, I think they have a few good songs on them. I actually like them more, for the most part, than Show No Mercy. Go figure.

The members of Slayer would EAT any emo band out there after brutally slaughtering them, just to show them how pussy emo music is.

Slayer was part of the big four of thrash, along with Megadeth, Anthrax, and Metallica. To put them in same category as those wimpy "emo" bands is blasphemy.
What's funny is I liked and still like Slayer and my dad was aware of this as soon as his company hired Jon Dette (a former Slayer drummer) to handle their shipping deals. I'm thinking about heading down to San Marcos one of these days for a John Hancock, even though he was only with them for a year I'd still like to have it. I'm dead serious about this too.
EDIT: Just got back from chatting with my dad and apparently Jon's in a local San Marcos band called Pushed.

Actually, it's the big five; you forgot Exodus.

Cool. What type of company does your dad work for?

My dad's the senior engineering tech at an electronics company that deals with high-power RF units. I had fun with the equipment there a month ago blocking radio and cell phone signals when my dad had to do some work after hours.
how do you get from Slayer to that? jk

I always liked Slayer, the older stuff. But as of late, it's being whored by some friends and I can't stand hearing it anymore.
