Okay, first of all, i will admit this... I cried when Aeris was murdered because she was my fave character...
But why did they kill her off?
Can somebody please come up with a sensible reason? I guess it was to make Sephy look more evil, but I just dont like it...
AND the japs got that alternate ending where she comes back and kills Sephy when he is in his Safer form! How unfair?

i also admit i almost cried the first 2 times. she had to die to call to holy from the life stream since she was the only one to do it. i hope that that helps you understand more.

ummm, no. teh jap version didnt get an alternate ending. secondly, aeris' death makes the story and makes u hate sephiroth. thridly, label posts like this SPOILER !!!! read the rules before u post plz.

Actualy Sephiroth is afraid of Aeris since she's the only one who can stop Meteor from destroying the earth. Little did Sephiroth knew that Holy was already moving, so Sephiroth was a little to late.

When Aries diesd i'm pretty sure that they wanted you to hate Sephiroth, so it made him look like an evil villan that everybody hates.

Aeris didn't die O_o. Look she's right next to me saying " hi " to all the shriners .

so i take it we all hate sephy for kiling aeris?? good

I agree that seeing Aeris die wasn't my favourite part of the game. I agree that it made me hate Sephiroth even more. It got the point of the story across that Sephiroth would do ANYTHING to succeed with his plan.

I was annoyed to see Aeris. I remember, about three years ago before the platinum release of the game, I had worked out my own little subquest plot for the resurrection of Aeris, and her effect on the end of the game (including one more boss fight with Cloud and Aeris against a super, super Sephiroth.) Unfortunately, I don't have that plot lying around anymore. It got deleted when my hard drive decided to crash on me...

I was glad when Aeris died. I've never found her of much use. I'd rather have Cait Sith in the team.

And why do people hate Sephiroth? He's just misunderstood, damit!! MISUNDERSTOOD!!:mad:

sup, the reason they had sepheroth kill aries was simple, he had two good reasons, one, she was the only one whom could stop him and two, he wanted to cause cloud pain and anguish, and also to really, REALLY, piss of the players:mad: :mad: :mad:

Aeris needed to become one with the planet to use holy so she had to die. Little did sephiroth know this was his undoing.

Every story needs a twist. I must say that one was a very shocking one!!
Square always manage to make the story go so well, and as soon as we have learned to love the characters, and know what's going on. That's where they like to hit you where it really hurts. That's what they were trying to do, and that is why they are so successful in making these stories.:D

I also cried. Aeris is one of my fave characters. I always had her in my team. I love her level 4 limit break, that was real handy:D
Plus she's such a lovely person.

Sephiroth didn't kill Aeris, it was Jenova. Ok. I know, we all saw that he did it. But it wasn't of his own will. He was being manipulated by Jenova. He was driven to insanity by the Shinra. Please don't blame Sephiroth.:(

I thought that killing off Aeris was a stupid idea thats my opinion and I stick by it! I have my gamed saved at the part right before Aeris get's killed and ever since the game was released I still go back to that part and ask WHY? I admit it still brings a tear to my eye when I see a sword go through her and she still smiles the hole time knowing she has brought hope.

If Squares objective was to make us mad at Sephiroth well the suceeded did they ever succeed!

And then when it happens I spend hours, days, months just looking for a way to bring her back thinking to myself there is a way and I must find it. But I never found one.

Aeris and Cloud are my 2 favorite characters out of any FF game and I thought they were good together (but i guess that Tifa and Cloud are better together) I to like many other people had her stats to there fullest and had her level 4 limit.................and now she is gone:( She will never laugh or cry or be Aeris again............my sweet sweet Aeris..........

I don't think i recall crying when she died but i did want to hurry up and eliminate sephiroth for killing her....and I tried one of the more believable rumors...because i wanted to believe that she could be brought back but like all of the other rumors it was untrue....so I think I'll just get a gameshark.

Actually I was more upset when Rufus died to tell you the truth:D

She was just a couple of '0's and 1's nothing more nothing less. o_o
I wasn't sad that she died, she's just a game sprite, Although her death did progress the story and eventually saved the world and such, nothing to be 'depressed' about O_o
Square did a good job giving the story something extra :)

I laughed my head off when Sephiroth killed Aeris, and plus it made him more cool and added to the story line perfectly.

I still laugh now when she die's, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I wasn't really upset when she died but I would rather it didn't happen. I think square should make the plots have killings of one of the characters to add a litle more hatred to the enemy. I think the killing of Aeris made Sephiroth seem more evil and would make you want revenge for what happened by playing the game some more.

I'd have to agree with the other people why she died (because she was the only one that could stop meteor).
