There. I dont know whether youve heard about it or not, but there are rumours and news going around that Square Europe will release FFV some time soon.
Now it is possible that they sell it along with a demo, just like FFVI came with a FFX demo. What game could that possibly be, if its true?
What do you think?
I dont understand Squaresoft Europe. Cant they just release FFX instead of throwing bits of FF Anthology at us? ;)

It's interesting that it's taken Square so long to get around to releasing these old classic games in this country. I'm slowly getting through Final Fantasy VI (very slowly, my studies are preventing me from progressing as quickly as I'd like.) If the rumours are true, then I'm all for seeing these old games. I am in no rush to buying a Playstation 2 at the moment, due to financial reasons.

The next question is... Can we have Chrono Trigger, and others, released aswell?

It could be possible... You never know. If you got FF6 over there, then i'm sure FF5 will be over there too in time..

I think a lot of it has to do with Square Japan and Square Europe butting heads. This same situation happened with Square USA and Square Japan while they were planning on releasing FF2 to the US, and due to it American's didn't see another FF until FF4.

Final Fantasy VI was released on PAL format for one, I repeat one, reason only...

To make us pay for the Final Fantasy X demo. They can't legally sell demo discs, so they packaged it with a budget game. Not that i'm complaining; I'd just rather they release FFA over here as one slice, not chopped up.

Okay, just for the record:
Allow me to quote www.thegia.com

"Following on the heels of the recent Final Fantasy VI PlayStation release in PAL territories, Square Europe has just announced plans to bring the PSone versions of FFIV and V across the ocean as well. It seems as though the two will be released in the same package together, as with the US Final Fantasy Anthology and Chronicles. No release date has yet been announced, but one should be forthcoming soon."

The good thing is obvious.
But think about it... the bad thing is: There goes my hope for FF Chronicles PAL. No Chrono Trigger for us. ;)

I would like to play FF4 and 5. I'm not to interested in CT though. But Square might release Tactics here some time soon (hope so. I've heard good things about it). They may release a CT/FFT pack. Well, it's a possiblity..... Or just release CT on it's own (if they do).

Anyway, hope they release them some time soon.

Careful Purikah... and you might know that "possessing" gives a way better feeling than only "having" the game. At least to me, and I dont know if you understand...

Too bad you do not have the money, Surprentis. Hehe, because that would be great. Well, Squaresoft, these lazy bums, there should be at least one person there interested in their fans. Because they do little, and what they do, they dont do right.

Hmm, I'm not that interested in downloading ROMS. I've had bad experiences with them. I'd rather own the game itself.

Ok, It's official!!! I read just now that FFIV and FFV will be released in Europe. It will be out on May 15th and is going to be called Final Fantasy Anthology: European Edition. No news about CT though.

Being an Australian gamer (and a PAL one at that) who's owned both the original US NTSC SNES and PSX versions, I was natuarally interested when I heard about the PAL releases of these classic games. Square Europe needed a game to fill in a huge hole in their release schedule as FFX was delayed again. Obviously, with FFVI's remarkable success, Square Europe have bitten the bullet and decided to release FFIV and V as well. So, with these on the way, perhaps it is just a matter of time before we also see Chrono Trigger here in '50 Hz' land' (another brillant game which I'm also very lucky to be able to own on the SNES).

I will get FFA: EE, but they could have chosen a better time! 15th of may is about 2 weeks before FFX's release. As much as I want to get FFIV and V, FFX takes priority IMO, and to make it worse, FFVI's hard to find  Oh well. I wonder if it'll be 10 again? (probably not)

Yup, you guys got it bad... really bad. Course... you could come to good ol' america. ^_^

It's kinda sad that you guys won't be able to experience the Chrono Series, they were great games for the PSX. Chrono Cross almost wouldn't have made it over here because of translation problems. Well... gotta deal with the cards you get ;_;

Ah, you refer to stupid excuse number 1.
Square claimed it was impossible to translate the game into the romanic languages and German... because the dialogue system was so special.

They later decided to make up another lame excuse, stupid excuse number 2 . This time it was the market. The game would not have sold at the European market. Obviously, they were thinking we were more interested in Saga Frontier 2 and Vagrant Story and Ehrgeiz. And Chocobo Racing, and all those hammer games that are still so very popular.

By the way, these so-called translation problems : Two rom hacking teams are currently translating the game into German and French. They do not seem to have problems. Surprising, eh? Square said it would be impossible.

If they keep this up, though, and if we make a big enough demand, CT, FFT and FF through to FF3 might well be released over here, maybe on the PSX (makes more sense, since then they'd be appealing to a lerger market). OK, I'm writing them a letter. Right now.

FFI, II & III were re-released on Bandai's Wonderswan handheld recently in Japan only, so it's doubtful that they'll be released on the GBA. Still, I've heard rumours to that effect, but, so far only FF Tactics has been announced.
