The other day I was wandering through the Salikawood again, and I happened to follow a Wyrdhare around for a bit without attacking it. Then, it just turned around a healed one of my characters with a Hi-Potion! Pretty cute huh?!

Anyone else run into little oddities such as this?

If you keep talking to all the Vierra in Eryut village, eventually you will find one that will do a little dance for you when you talk to her.

(note:may not actually be true)

Alexandria --- that's not just a quirk. That may also be a reference. In Final Fantasy VI, there were hares that had healing abilities.

P.S.: I just entered that section earlier and am currently saved there. I'm totally gonna try that!

there's a BIG secret in this one location, where you set up gambits for the characters to gain EXP and LP by themselves. I've tried it and it works. I left my game on overnight and my characters gained more than 20 levels.

I suspected from the beginning something like that was possible, but wherever that is, I don't think I've reached it yet. Interesting trick, though. Don't think I'd use it myself though.

yeah, it's a little too exploitative, too cheap. To tell you the truth, I prefer to work my characters up the old-fashioned way.

are you gonna tell us how you did it? I'm at a point where it wouldn't really be of much use but I'm curious.

yes, it's there.

to briefly summarize, an enemy called Negalmuur has an ability that allows it to spawn undead creatures. If you set up gambits that don't allow your characters to attack Negalmuur but instead attack all of the undead creatures, then you can get as much EXP, LP, and loot as you want, not to mention an easy 999-chain.

Yeah, I tried it --- it is pretty adorable. I like it. I wonder if there are more hares like that elsewhere in the game --- maybe ones that use X-Potions or Elixirs? :)

In Archades, there's a woman who mentions the "Mummers of Tantalus."

The Garif live in Jahara in an area of land known as Kerwon. I'm 99.9% certain that this is a reference to Kerwin town in FFV and the wolves who lived there.

It's not exactly a secret (or cute by any means), but it you sit and watch the Wild Saurian in the Estersands, it will eat all of the Wolves in the area, gaining levels in the process.

Yeah me too.

Has any1 talked to that viera thats in muthru bazaar in rabanastre, im not sure when it happens but i kept going back to her and talking to her. She asks advice on different things something like 5 times, after she decided what she wanted to do she ended up working for migelo at migelos sundried, no migelos sundries yes thats it migelos sundries.
Has any1 else got her doing different things with different answers or does she always end up in migelo's sundries?

I don't know, what answers did you try? I generally offered her encouragement.

Your suppose to be kind of blunt and not so nice for the first few, and the last one tell her she should follow in her sisters footsteps or something. It's an extra sidequest, and if you answer them right *or the way they want you to* you get a certain item *just a regular weapon i think...nothing fancy that you can't get elsewhere* and she ends up in different locations. 1- Fighting inside the Clan Hall 2- Outside the Clan Hall 3- In migelo's shop 4- the person outside/or talks about migelo's shop...something like that haha. and 5- randomly walking throughout rabanastre.

Here's some info I found in a walkthrough that should help those still having trouble with some of this stuff:

-- Zodiac Spear [SQ01]

In order for the Zodiac Spear to be available in the chest later in the game a
few treasure chests must NOT be opened as you journey through the main story of
the game.

[ ] Do not open the treasure chest directly across from Old Dalan's front door
in the South Sprawl part of Lowtown. [SQ01-1]

[ ] Do not open either of the two chests in the Cellars area of the Royal
Palace of Rabanastre. This is the area where the red Seeq distracts the guard
while Vaan sneaks by. [SQ01-2]

[ ] Do not open any of the chests in The Confiscatory of the Nalbina Dungeons.
This is the room where the party gets their weapons back after being captured.
[SQ01-3]

[ ] Do not open any of the 16 chest on the Phon Coast that are lined up along
the beach of the Vaddu Strand area. All of them contain gil, but you want that
spear more than a one-time helping of gil right? [SQ01-4]

The Zodiac spear can be found inside of a treasure chest in the Necrohol of
Nabudis if you do not open any of the above chests.

-- Ktjn the Viera [SQ02]

When available: After the fight with the Mimic Queen in Barheim Passage.
Location: Muthuu Bazaar (Rabanastre); look for a Viera (bunny ears) named Ktjn

Ktjn can actually be found at many other places throughout Rabanastre
sometimes. She will ask the party a series of four questions. The reward will
differ depending on how many questions you get "right". She will be labeled as
"Viera" until you talk with her the first time. Keep talking to her until she
starts to ask a question. She will only ask a question after each major event
in the game, so she should have a new question for you after each major boss
fight. If she doesn't have a question for you, she will keep repeating the
same phrase. You should be negative with all answers except for the fourth
question. Here is a list of questions:

1. Is the city not wonderful? I still lose my way on occasion, but I have come
to know some of her walks and alleyways. But the land, I cannot hear it...
Should this not trouble me as a Viera?

(Correct) Yes, you should be ashamed.
(Wrong) No, don't be silly.

2. I knew my choice would bring hardship, yet...

(Correct) You should've thought it through.
(Wrong) Things will get better.

3. I would be as she is. Do you think it possible?

(Wrong) Sure, if you put your mind to it.
(Neutral) I don't know your sister.
(Correct) It'll never happen.

4. Perhaps it would be better if I too became a warrior like my sister. What
do you think?

(Correct) I think it's a good idea.
(Wrong) I'm not so sure.

The next time you meet Ktjn, after question 4, she will tell you that she has
made up her mind and she walks away from her current sitting place in the
Muthru Bazzar. If you answered all the questions correctly, go to the Clan
Hall to find her fighting with a Bangaa on the first floor. Talk to her and
she will give you a ++PLATINUM SWORD++. Her location for this final meeting
will differ depending on how many questions you answered correctly. The prize
will also differ depending on the questions answered as well.

Thank goodness, I was really hoping to see a Wedge and Biggs reference somewhere in XII - thanks guys. It's just a corny little thing, but I really appreciate the fact that it's included regularly - it hasn't quite evolved to the inclusion of Cid yet, but I still like it.

There are a couple of people who mention a crazy guy who shouts at windmills. One of them comments "I wouldn't want to ride with him." Almost certainly a reference to The Legend of Don Quixote.

There's a bangaa in Rabanastre at the end of the game standing with a friend. He comments "My friend here says over 430 revelers came through the Southern Plaza during the big fete. But even if you count the bards... 'course he could be counting the spoony bards too. That would be another matter altogether."

Revaninja

There alot of that in this game. As for the windmill gut that is the wyrm philospher and supposue to be a hint don't know if they meant that as Don Quixote but nice someone pieced that together.

As for Biggs and Wedge talk to the lady nearby july or something along that line then listen to the guards rent a chocobo and run towards them they freak and then talk to July and she will either need more stuff to do or give you a prize in Archades.
Talk to Vierra as Fran for different speeches from them, Migeldo after you rescue penelo or long after changes what he says, the merchant by raithwall talk to him not at all then talk to him in Balforheim and he will say something different.
A friend of mine tried to run from some of the bosses and event he got a rather nasty remarks from party memebers. The fight in the begining aganist the Aircraft he tried to run towards the game start, and Archades after Balither goes off but before you get all the chops in that quest go to old Archades and he got it there.there are probably more but thats all he found and I never ran across those.
You can hook up a Vierra to either a Seeq or Hume in Rabanstre. The Hume gives a better prize from what I read and is the one I went with. Talk to a Vierra near the chocobo stable in one of the gates I forget which one go to the plaza and talk to Love-struck man or something along that line then go to the gambit store talk to the vierra again and after she leaves talk to the Seeq in the store with Lord in his name then go to the Sandsea and talk to the Vierra again then go to which ever one you want the Hume or Seeq then talk to her again and finally go to where your choice was and go claim your prize. Talk to them again for some funny stuff and romance hints. I chose the Hume and he said he never would have looked at a Vierra if he didn't see Balither and Fran together though he doesn't give the names. As for the Vierra well that is just funny so I will let you find it out.
I also got the Bunny heal but at Giza Plains Dry first time through I was walking and a bunny just healed me out of the blue.
The dancing Vierra I want to see so tell me how to do it because I would so get a kick out of it.

Haha, yeah, that was a funny line. I was really expecting her to be serious about this "true love" deal, and then when she says her last line I was like "wtf?" It made me laugh.

Agent0042

Hmm, is it still hook possible to make this hookup, even if you're at the end of the game?

The guy who shouts at windmills --- that has to be a Don Quixote reference. In that story, Quixote shouts at windmills because he believes them to be giants. The whole thing has to be inspired by that --- that's just a weirdly twisted idea that it's almost impossible that anybody could come up with it on their own independently of that.

If anyone can tell me where I find this wyrm philosopher, though, I'd be interested in that.

Revaninja
02-02-2007, 10:51 PM
He is on one of the Windmills where you fought the dragon that has the Vierra Rutsack the Vyraal one of the windmills after you finish the Mark has a Moogle who is trying to fix it when the Wyrm Philospher shows up I think you have to talk to him again to give him the Vyraal scale you just got in exchange for the Key to Hellwyrm in Sochen Palace. Face any Windmill they are the squares on the map in Cobbi stepe and look for a grill on them this will activate the Action Icon with X with the number of the Windmil. After the Wyrm Philospher if you have the Bottle with the Note Dragons gotten in the fishing game you have to turn off and on certain windmils to make the bottle shatter for a part of a clue that lets you find Gilgamesh again but not fight. You only get the COLORED bottles which is what I am talking about after you clear Gilgamesh's Mark.
