Just lamenting...Gabranth and Balthier: Why do all the coolest people have to die? Is anyone else dissapointed in the ending?

So, tenn77 likes the fact that they die?, and 'Garamond' doesn't like anyone?!

... Balthier does not die.

But I agree about Gabranth/Noah dying. I liked him, even if he did backstab his brother in the beginning of the game.

Yeah, see I wasn't sure about Balthier. Someone said that he really died, but then I heard he'll be in Revenant Wings....well, at least someone lived. Reddas died too!

Revenant Wings is merely a spin-off and doesn't directly deal with the FF12 storyline from the console. It's another story on it's own with familiar faces, no prequel or sequel here folks. Therefore, someone who's never played FF12 for the PS2 can play it on their DS and still enjoy it.

Even if a sequel is completely accessible on its own, it remains a sequel. The new game shares the same characters and takes place after FFXII (and is probably influenced by FFXII in other ways), so it is definitely a sequel.

I actually thought this was one of the better endings in the series actually. Gabranth/Noah was probably my favorite character in the game, and him dying made me like him even more.

Yeah, you're right CarpeNoctumXIII, I never thought of it like that, but it seems...right for his character. Definately a legend.
