KnightOnline is still downloading...meanwhile...I just obtained Lion Heart on my FF8 Disk 1!!

I hope this guide will be helpful ;)

WARNING: Those who aren't patient, please leave this thread now! This guide requires over 7 hours of play on disk 1...because it is impossible to get "Pulse ammo" easily at Disk 1

Legends:

** -- Essential Steps
% -- You can get this at a later part of the game. See "Alternatives" section
# -- Optional Step(s)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) View your study panel. You would receive 2 GFs by the name of Shiva and Quezacotl. Let Quezacotl learn Card Mod and Shiva learn SumMag+10%
2) Encounter just ONE random mosnster. If you encounter more than 1 fight, escape.....
3) In the ONE fight, keep hitting Squall. Have Squall hit himself and have Quistis keep hitting Squall until Squall's HP falls under the Yellow range. Remember to junction Quezacotl to Squall and Shiva to Quistis
4) Go into the Fire Carevan. Set the time limit as 20 mins. Escape from any monster which you encounter in the Fire Carevan.
5) Kill Ifrit with Squall's Renzokuken. Have Quistis to summon Shiva repeatedly. Ifrit should be dead any time now.
**6) After killing Ifrit, DO NOT kill anything else.{Well, just kill a few Fascalon-F's along the beach until Quezacotl and Shiva learns Card Mod and SumMag+10% respectively. Then, make Quezacotl learn SumMag+10% and Shiva learn SumMag+20%} {And also, if Ifrit happens to reach lvl 10, make him learn Ammo-RF)
7) Concentrate on your Dollet Mission...After killing Elovert, come back and read this guide... BTW, keep Squall and Zell at low health and SAVE THE GAME BEFORE KILLING THAT CRAB MACHINE THINGY. Oh, and junction Quezacotl to Selphie and make sure Squall and Zell have the Item Command.
#8) Kill the Crab Thingy at the bridge
#9) Have Selphie to summom Quezacotl and Squall and Zell to unleash their limit breaks. If Selphie/Squall/Zell dies, have Squall/Zell to use a Phoniex down BUT DO NOT HEAL AS LIMIT BREAKS ARE VERY USEFUL.
#10) Repeat all the steps above...The Crab Machine Thingy should die within 7 mins......
#%11) It MUST drop a !!!Royal Crown/Admantine!!! or you have to start all over again. That's why I said to save the game first......
#%12) After the mission, make sure you are lvl 30 and below. Then, go to Balamb's training center and kill T-Rexaurs. It has a 10% chance of dropping dragon fangs. Make sure you have 4 of these
#%13) *Sigh*The most borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring part of the game. Keep challenging Cid(The Headmaster Of Balamb) in a Card Game. Win !!!20 Elnoye cards!!! from him and convert it to !!!2 Energy Crystals!!! thru Quezacotl's card mod. Then, convert 2 energy crystals to !!!20 pulse ammo!!!
THERE YOU GO!!! SQUALL'S MOST POWERFUL WEAPON, THE LIONHEART IS NOW YOURS!!
I hope this guide has been useful ^^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ALTERNATIVES~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

#11 --> Admantine can be obtained by killing GF brothers and card mod Minatur's card for 10 Admantines

#12 --> Kill low-level Grendels in Laguna's dream sequence #1. They drop Dragon Fangs, too

#13 --> Kill Lvl30+ Behemels {Clock like thingy which can be found outside Galabdia Garden} They drop Energy crystals which can be converted to Pulse Ammos

Nice guide! It's a shame I'm already on disc 4,but I would consider to this to many people who are looking for a challenge on FF8.

I would've just simply listed every item and how to get them.

One thing hits me though is why do you need Limit Breaks constantly?

One thing hits me though is why do you need Limit Breaks constantly?

1) Gfs' take alot of time to be summoned
2) Limit Breaks hit as much/more as GFs

Well that was a whole bunch of useless info right there. You could have just outlined that players need Quezacotl's Card/Card Mod and Ifrit's Ammo Refine abilites and cut that whole FAQ down by about 70%. Furthermore, I find it a lot better to get Adamantines from either the Sacred Card or winning from Adamantoises on the beach near Dollet, and leave the item won from X-ATM092 to actually teach my GFs a decent ability for that early in the game. Also, Dragon Fangs are a lot easier won from low-level (<20) Grendels which can be found by running up and down in the forest where you had the second Laguna experience whilst hugging the wall of the west mountain; this way you will get Grendel fights 100% of the time.

Also, with the exception of Irvine, every character can have their ultimate weapons on Disc 1. The earliest Irvine can get the Exeter is Disc 3, as Moon Stones cannot be won until then.

There's a beach near the Dollet Hasberry Plains where Adamantoise show up occasionally. That's another Disc 1 source for Adamantine.

Great walkthrough, but to burst your little buble on for disc one I had atleast twelve thigs learned for Quezacotl and Shiva before I fought Ifrit and I stumbled uppon the pulse ammo and stuff. But it is a bummer though for me know. I am on the last disc and I can't defeat the final boss, anyone know how to please message me. I could use the help.

You need a good amount Megalixers, Elixers, Mega Phoenix Downs and X-Potions. Levelling up some of your medicine is one way.

Junction 100 Water to your elemental defence.

Junction 100 Esuna to your status defence, get your status defences up high, especially against Silence, Blind, Confuse and Berserk.

Be at least LVL90, I recommend LVL100
Have at the least, 8000HP. 9999HP is ideal as you have a lot to play with.

Swap Draw in your Command List, for Item.
Junction 100 Bio to your status defence.

Take off Auto-Reflect as this will only count during the first phase of battle. This will also interfere with curing that member.

Be sure to put Auto-Shell and Auto-Protect on as well. I junctioned Squall with Auto-Haste and Auto-Potion and it proved useful when he is hit badly.

Even out your GFs among everyone so that everyone has at least two. Although one time I fought Ultimecia with Irvine who had only Ifirit junctioned (I planned on killing him if he was picked first but I didn’t have the heart:-(O:] )
Have some Aura Stones in your Battle Item List so that you won’t have to use time saved for Limit Breaks to cast Aura on other characters.

You are now ready to fight Ultimecias final form.

EDIT: Ignore this post please. Thank-you.

I was about to ask why this was up; then I read your "EDIT" part.

...we dont need the magazine to get lionhaert after you/we've done this~?

actually, the magazine is not required in order to obtain any weapons. as long as you've got the items, you will be able to get the weapon.

if you have the magazine, you'll be able to see the other weapons that you could be able to buy in gray.

Ok I got a biggie prob. How long does it take just to encounter an Adamatoise. I have ran on this beach for aquite a while, fought about 10 sets of Fastilicons and not a single Adamatoise yet.

My disc 1 is scratched, so I can't even get past the first encounter outside Balamb Garden.

I used to be able to get all the way up to the missile base launching before the game froze on the obsolete PSOne.

I finished the game on disc 4 using a saved game, but now the multi-slot memory card can't change from the number 4 slot.. I saw all the magazines and most of the GF/player cards too!!

I am cursed..
